RE: ~Post your campsite photos here~

Loved Lake Allatoona! Here's site 41:
I went to recretion.gov to look up info about this park and found there are several campgrounds. Which CG is this site in?

RE: Unwanted guests, lets hear your story....

We once camped next to a campsite that had a lot of "stuff" but didn't think much of it. That eve as we were getting ready to eat supper on the picnic table these 2 little boys came over about 5-8 yrs old. We talked to them and then they plopped themselves down at the table. I told them it was time for them to leave as we were about to eat...didn't budge! Said he was hungry. Told him I wasn't going to feed him and he needed to go back to his campsite. Finally they left. Don't remember them hanging around our campsite a lot more as I think we were out and about that weekend. But it seems they were a family fulltimeing in a maybe 30 TT with at least 5 kids!! One girl older around 12 or so kept 2 toddlers in a playpen outside a lot. Parents must have been off working (I hope). A vehicle did appear in the eves but didn't see them much. I know another camper brought the boys that came to our site back to their site in their vehicle. Seems they were just wondering the CG. If we'd stayed longer, I think I would have reported them. It was kinda sad, but aggravating at the same time.

Need belt case for cell phone

I got DH a Samsung Rugby III phone last week and now am looking for a case that he can run his belt thru(not just clip on to his belt). Would prefer a leather one but may have to go with something else. Anyone have a suggestion where I might find one?

RE: asy 2 Ingredients Pineapple Angel Food Cake

I have made this many times but use the traditional Angel Food tube pan and bake as directed on the box. Serve with fresh berries and whipped cream.
I like the idea of the tube pan.....and I am wondering if other canned fruit could be used...like peaches?
I'm thinking that it will not work with other fruit. I think the acid of the pineapple reacts with something in the cake mix making it rise.

RE: Please post opinions on a Holiday Rambler Alumascape

I can't comment on that exact year & model but we have an '03 34RTL Alumascape and absolutely love it! Be sure and check the actual length as these, as many other RV models, do not reflect the actual length in the 33SKQ. Ours has the 34 in it but it actually is 37' long.

RE: Too old to continue traveling ? Grown children urging ..

The only thing that worries is me is that I'm afraid sometimes older folks start having problems and they don't realize it like what happened with the Bear II's father...That scares me, and maybe that is what is concerning your daughter. Talk to her and make a plan B as others have suggested. Let her know now that you will listen to her concerns when she starts seeing problems.

RE: Garner State Park

Depends on how close you want to be to the action. The Old Garner is down by the paddle boats, dance, hugh tent camping area, etc. This is the choice of many especially with kids.
We stayed in the New Garner section during Spring Break and it was fine for us. Our DD & 6yo DGD stayed with us too. There is still river access and we didn't mind driving to the other area if we wanted to do something. There are tent & RV sites (varied sizes) in the new section, too. Live Oak CG has more trees/shade but we have a 37' fiver and there weren't many choices for site we would have fit into. We stayed in 381 in Rio Frio which was fine for time of year, but in summer it would have been very hot as there was no shade.

RE: Which is the easiest on the back?

I know my DH has commented that when we get older(61 & 59 now)we may look at MHs as there is a lot of bending and stooping with hooking/setting up the fiver.

I've used this Potatoe Casserole (without the ham) for years and have also added browned sausage to it for a breakfast casserole. Great recipe!

Computer air cards for RGV

My daughter, who lives in RGV, is needing to get an aircard for work computer. She has phone service with ATT and never had a problem, but is there a preference of ATT vs. Verizon in this area? Some of the use will be in more rural areas, if that matters. TIA!
