RE: Any jobs out west....California? Colorado?
When I divorced in '92, and knew I was coming back to CA, my home state, leaving OK behind. My oldest daughter gave me a very hard time about whether she should go with me. We argued about it a lot, and I understood her hesitancy. But I told her that if she didn't go with me, that she would never know what CA was like, and if she would like CA. I told her, like I've told many people that have wanted to know if they should go somewhere, or not, YOU CAN ALWAYS GO BACK! She came with me, and has never looked back. She'd worked many jobs, and now is a stay at home mom, with another on the way. We are very close.
RE: Any jobs out west....California? Colorado?
This is one of those times where I think we have to hold our breath and let them go. It very well may be a great life learning experience for him. It's something he feels he has to do for himself. You could tell him everything you know, or don't know, but for him, he needs to find out for himself. Yes? And there is always the Peace Corps. There is nothing wrong with finding out what is on the other side of the fence, so to speak. He has the real urge to find out for himself, and it's somewhat of an adventure, let him go gently. You, of course, will be there if he needs you, but not to keep him from falling down, but for encouragement.
He may find work, and he may not, but he will be a better man for it. He may come back enlightened in a way you never dreamed. My youngest son joined the Peace Corps right out of college. He loved it, and got to go places he only dreamed of going. He's a better man for it, and now has a wonderful job working at Father Joe's Village helping those without jobs, find and keep a job. Many of them come back and thank him. I'm proud of my son, you will be too.
RE: MAJOR dental work might = cheaper MH...
Whatever you decide to do, go to Mexico, or stay home for this work, good luck, and please let us know what you decide to do, as well as how it all goes for you. I don't really care what you decide, I just thought it would be easiest on you to do this at home, with someone you said you trusted. I'm pretty sure I know what you have to have done, so be sure you take the full mouth series of x rays with you, or they will have to take some more, at least they should, to diagnose you properly. At any rate, good luck.........................
RE: Huge Moose
The road/trail doesn't look that large to me. It looks like one of those we used to walk along in N. MI when I was a kid. Narrow and only large enough for one car, or off road vehicle. It's definitely a moose!
RE: MAJOR dental work might = cheaper MH...
First of all I would recommend you discuss this dental care/bill with your dentist that you trust, and feel good with. If he/she is good, they will work with you, and allow you to make payments. Ask him his opinion of going to Mexico for work. This may get him to see/understand your need for quality and affordable treatment. I used to be a dental assistant and I would not go to Mex for work. No recourse if things go wrong. It's your mouth get it done right. Now just so you know, most dentists will give you the IDEAL treatment they'd love to do, you need to take that info, discuss it with him/her and tell them what you can do moneywise. Example; my sister's dentist wanted to do tooth extractions, braces, breaking of her jaw to align correctly, etc. A huge job, I told her to do what SHE wanted, felt comfy with (no jaw breaking and realigning) and she is very happy today, all done without the drastic work.
Now you may badly need the treatment he is recommending. Ask what he'd do for himself. Don't worry about your mh, it'll come in due time. Take care of your mouth first, or you could lose your life, literally. All the best...............
RE: Huge Moose
I know one of those gave me wet back in Yellowstone.
When it run across the road about 50' in front of me, when I was driving about 40 mph.
Even from 7 tons motorhome it looked big.
Isn't the speed limit in Yellowstone 35 mph, because of the wildlife?
RE: What's the weirdest critter you ever ate?
ya got to cook goat like brisket, low and slow. Cooked properly it is very tender and very tasty.
I'll have to take your word for that. Don't spect I'll ever eat goat again. I also saw the rocky mountain oysters being prepared before cooking, there are no words to describe what I saw. And they EAT those! Turns my stomach now just remembering. :E
RE: What's the weirdest critter you ever ate?
Oh gee, I forgot about Goat. When I lived for a while in NW OK their favorite to bbq was goat. :h I never could figure out why. Tough, stringy and not so tasty.
RE: How do I dispose of a deer body?
If it's not your property, can you call whomever owns it, let them deal? Or the city? That can't be healthy..............hold your nose.
RE: What's the weirdest critter you ever ate?
When they have the contestants on Amazing Race eat some of that stuff, I have a real difficult time watching. They do it on Survivor too, and it's always disgusting. I would be immediately sent packing for refusing to eat this stuff. And, if you want me to try something but don't tell me what it is, I won't touch it!
RE: What's the weirdest critter you ever ate?
Maybe a fly that flew in one time, as I was chewing something else, but I cannot honestly attest to that. I'd say that's about it. My tummy is very picky.
RE: Finger exercise.............Ouch
That got me to thinkin', oh wait, I'm not allowed to do that here. Never mind........................................................"poof"
