Wire adapters may have, MoCA doesn't.

RE: Home network over electric line

"Actiontec's MoCA Network Adapters turn a coaxial cable network into high-speed Internet access, delivering up to 175 Mbps of application bandwidth wherever there's a coaxial port. Best of all, MoCA technology offers a reliable, "no excuses" connection, so you won't have to worry about interference, degradation, or spotty service."
There is model for Verizon, and satilite.

RE: Mercedes based van or Ford/GM based van?

It will be awhile, as the B manufactures can't even get all the specs yet for the Transit Van. They can't even start on a design until then.
I would think sometime in 2014, before you see a Class B based on a Transit Van. My guess, later in 2014 than earlier.

RE: Home network over electric line

Check out Ethernet over coax. MoCA.
Actiontec
Also, I have been using a home wire adapter to send Ethernet to my Slingbox for years, and it works pretty good. It is a newer house though. It really depends on how your house is wired. Not a gimmick!
I'm going to try a MoCA devise on my cable, suppose to work really good with Comcast.

RE: Useage Battery Tender Junior

I think the coach batteries have to be fully charged ( this may be adjustable) before the isolator will switch and allow the chassis battery to charge. Also, the isolator will keep the chassis battery from being over charged. I believe this is called a bi-directional Isolator, there is also a uni-direction isolator, which will charge the coach battery once the chassis battery is fully charged. So it depends on the type of isolator.
I believe this is how it works in most RV's, but I'm not positive. There are members who know a lot more about isolators than I do, and hopefully they can correct me if I'm wrong on this.
I believe a separator is also bi, or uni directional.
I'm going to guess that the Battery Tender Jr. will not charge the coach battery when charging the chassis battery, because the BT Jr will shut down once the chassis battery is fully charged.

RE: Towing Lance 1685 with a Toyota 4Runner?

I know the dilemma of trying to find a mid size SUV, with a V8, and as far as I know, no one makes one any longer. All the mid sizes have gone to unibody construction, and V6's. Our 2011, Nissan V8 Pathfinder (7,000 lb TC) was the last maker of a frame-on V8 mid size, and 2012 was the last year. If you haven't purchased the 4 Runner yet, you might look for V8 Pathfinder. They only come in the LE, and come loaded, with only a few options to choose from.
To get to the topic, we will be towing a Lance 1685 fully optioned, and our Pathfinder was as small as I felt comfortable towing a 5,500 lb TT with. I don't think you will be happy with the V6 4 Runner. jmo

Davydd, I give you credit, you tried to be nice. sometimes there is just no way to deal with crazy people.
Burl, why don't you start your own forum, then you can lump all the RV's by size instead of type. I'm sure everyone will leave here, and join.

RE: Useage Battery Tender Junior

Don't these vehicle have built in converter/chargers. They should charge by plugging in the shore cable.
Yes, but that doesn't charge the chassis battery. That's where the BT Jr comes in.

RE: Useage Battery Tender Junior

When I had my Rt, I plugged the Battery Tender Jr. into a coach outlet, then the 12V plug into the cig. lighter on the dash. That did a good job of charging the chassis battery. Of course you need to be hooked up to shore power.
I think I had to buy the 12V cord/plug separately.

RE: Roadtrek Gas stove .... Cover????

It came with a Corian cover that matched the counter tops. A lot of them got broke. Rt probably still has them, I'm sure not cheap.

K&N air filters

There has been talk on a Roadtrek Face Book page promoting K&N Air Filters. Since I I'm not a member there, I thought I would post this info here, with hopes that it also finds its way over there.
If your thinking about using a K&N air filter, please do some research, then decide for yourself if increased air flow is worth, more dirt getting into your engine. .I know K&N filters have been discussed to death on this forum, but the general consensus is K&N filters trap less dirt than paper (OEM) filters.
My opinion, for a Class B, a K&N air filter is a waste of money, and the minor pluses, don't out weigh the minuses.
Debunking the K&N myth, why OEM filters are better.
Even though this test was with a Duramax diesel, filtering is filtering.

RE: Unlock phones

"It was great while it lasted, but the days of users legally unlocking their own phones is over. Back in October of last year, the Library of Congress added an exemption to the DMCA to allow folks to free their new phones for 90 days. That three month window has now closed. Of course, carriers are still free to offer unlocked handsets themselves, and some will also unlock them for you as long as certain conditions are met. "Legacy" or used handsets purchased before today can still be unlocked without any finger-wagging from federal courts.
So, what does this mean exactly? Well, Electronic Frontier Foundation attorney Mitch Stoltz told us, "What's happening is not that the Copyright Office is declaring unlocking to be illegal, but rather that they're taking away a shield that unlockers could use in court if they get sued." This does make lawsuits much more likely according to him, but it's still up to the courts to decide the actual legality of phone unlocking. Indeed, it's a grim day for those who want true freedom over their own devices. Stoltz said to us, "This shows just how absurd the Digital Millennium Copyright Act is: a law that was supposed to stop the breaking of digital locks on copyrighted materials has led to the Librarian of Congress trying to regulate the used cellphone market."

RE: Just bought a new class B- recommendations for insurance

"AAA road service policies are issued by the individual state/province AAA club and aren't necessarily the same nationwide."
Some states do not offer AAA RV service, and will not send a tow truck. Now you may be able to get an Independant tow, and charge back to you home AAA store, but why bother with that hassle, when GS RS, and Coachnet have none of these restrictions, and are a better RS Assistance program for RV's and also covers every car in the family.

RE: Just bought a new class B- recommendations for insurance

AAA Plus RV does cover RV's, but if your traveling to another state from where you purchased it, it may, or may not be honored. Best thing is to stay away from AAA RS.
