RE: What tires do you suggest?

I have used TOYO tires for years with good success.

RE: Musings in the middle of the night

While campground hosting at an Oregon State park we did have incomming RVers wait until the sites were cleaned. I consider the times in and the times out as being necessary to keep the park in optimal condition. Been there done that!

RE: Camping World Bashing--Not I

As we have traveled the lower 48 for the past 9 years we haven't had a bad experience at a CW.

RE: RV leveling with scissor type jacks/levelers

On our TT I use 4 additional "T"pees on the frame in front of and in back of the axels. DW doesn't like the bounce when I move around.

RE: Siping tires

This might be the time to contact a tire engineer and find out the manufacturers reason for siping and non siping. I'm sure there is a reason why the larger tires >19.5" are not siped. There must be a reason and I would like to have a reason from one of the tire makers.

RE: I want my oven!

Our unit (2004) came with an oven which we have used maybe a dozen times in the last nine years. We have a convection oven which has proven to be more than adequate, it will even do a 12" pizza. My choice in a future RV would be a convection/microwave unit.

RE: Siping tires

I sipe my TOYO's that I have on my Suburban. Loaded and pulling a 7K trailer I have not noticed any decrease in tire wear. I have run TOYO's siped and unsiped.

RE: Channel Cats in Washington State?

DW and I volunteer for the COE that has oversight of Madame Dorian and as of last year when we were in the area, Madame Dorian was closed. We are presently waiting to hear when the COE is going to open which parks this year. As to tackle, etc., I would still contact the local bait shops as they hear from the active fishermen, women too, on a daily basis. As the water warms they will be easier to catch, the warmest water is in the fall.

RE: Value on this trailer?

Make an offer all they can do is say no or possibly come back with a counter offer.

RE: Polar/Arctic Pack???

You might contact the nearest Artic Fox dealer and see if they have anything that fits your needs. Full disclosure: I do not own an Artic Fox nor am I associated with Northwoods Mfg. I do however have a Tamarack (Northwoods Mfg product)in addition to the Alpenlite Aspen which has been our movable home since 2004.

RE: Channel Cats in Washington State?

I hope I don't offend any of the locals since I live here a few months of the year but here are two of the places to find the cats. At the mouth of the Yakima and the mouth of the Walla Walla. I have not talked with anyone who has fished for cats at the mouth of the Snake. A call to one of the local bait shops should give you better directions.

RE: Why does the market demand Diesel??

I am not an expert on engines but having a background in petroleum analysis, gallon for gallon there is more energy in a gallon of diesel than in a gallon of gasoline. Therefore it seems that the more weight that you need to move the greater the economic value of going to diesel. Case in point railroads at one time had motorized rail cars using gasoline, these did not prove to be economically viable plus there were some bad accidents with ensuing fires which hindered the rescue of the survivors.

RE: Dry camp, Boise & Kenniwick

Also freecampsites.net/attribute/states gives state by state free camping - be carefull don't assume what you read on the internet is accurate. Madame Dorian is listed but as far as I know it is still closed. We always call ahead to make sure we will have a place. Things have a habit of changing.

RE: Dry camp, Boise & Kenniwick

We volunteer for the Corps of Engineers Ice Harbor Dam area which includes Hood Park. I did not include this park as it is very heavily used, if you have a specific date you expect to arrive use Reserve Americia otherwise dropins are likely to be dissapointed.

RE: Dry camp, Boise & Kenniwick

We have lived in the Kennewick area for over 50 years and I know of no eaisily accesable BLM camping allowed areas. There are however RV parks in the Kennewick area. A Google search will find them.

RE: Dometic RM3601 Frig

You might try the Alpenlite group on Facebook. There are quite a few owners there.

RE: i'm on a boat..no its a camping trailer.. why does it move?

We have used additional "Tpees" two in the front of the rear axel and two in back on the frame. This has been a big help. The only hard part is as I get older it gets harder and harder to set up the "Tpees" as it requires getting down on the ground. I may think like a fifty year old but add 25 and things change.

RE: How much discount on new MH?

Have you contacted the manufacturer? It just "might" be possible to get a factory direct deal.

RE: Never ending winter

Isn't it strange how "Global Warming" turned to "Climate Change"? It will warm up then we'll wish for the cooler weather.
