RE: Upper-mid to high end level 5th wheel?

Finding an Arctic Fox on the east coast might be difficult. We seriously looked at the AF, but eventually decided otherwise, not due to AF though.
But we did learn that most of the new and used units are out west.
Yes, I am quickly discovering that!
So far, it looks like Heartland Landmark and Bighorn, Keystone Montana and Alpine, and Open Range Residential are the frontrunners.
Those look like good solid options.

RE: Where to research used RV prices?

Why not do a search on your camper and see what others are asking for it. That way you can get an idea of where the price should be.

If you put in a sewer clean out in the driveway you could rent the camping spot while you are gone ;)

RE: Diesel Truck-What would you buy?

Test drive each of the Big 3 and get the 1-ton you like the best. Dodge guys will swear Dodge is best. Ford guy will swear Ford is the best. GM guys will swear GM/Chevy is the best.

RE: Pullrite hitch Question

We have the 16K Super Fifth and love it. I hear people talking about chucking and I really don't have any of that. I guess if I had to complain about something it would be the rails staying in the truck. I knew that would be the situation when I bought it, so I just work around them.

RE: Xchocks question

I use them and my trailer doesn't slip at all. Just have to check them a little while after setting up and the tires cool down.

RE: Toilet Brush In Black Tank

We lost a BBQ skewer down the toilet when DW poured a pot full of kitchen sink grey water down the toilet (the grey valve wasn't working). Bought a magnet and tied it to a string and was able to fish it back up. Lucky thing too, as we were having company over to the RV that afternoon for shish (sp) kabobs and needed that skewer.
I know this doesn't help you, but it's a funny story anyhow.
I'm glad I wasn't there for THAT meal!!!.... Yikes :)

RE: East Coast

We live in southern NH about 350 miles from NJ. We lost power last night and still don't have it back. That gives you an idea how large this storm was. I can't imagine how bad it is in the areas at the center of this thing.

RE: Towing a Park Model

I would have the place that sells the unit do it. They will charge a lot less than a private party. A guy that works with my wife is finding that out right now. He paid about $200 to have it delivered and set up when new. He wants to go to another campground now, and the prices are much much higher. I guess if you think about it, the selling dealer will work it into the price. Whereas the private guy doesn't have that kind of room to work with.

RE: Life is Good in an RV!

Another benefit of an RV is that if it does get annoying, you can hook up and move on to another location.

RE: Camping in the Northeast in the fall

Most campgrounds in New England close after the Columbus day weekend. You can still find open campgrounds, just not as many. Leaves are starting to change now but are not at full color. Here is a link to a foliage tracker from a local News station Foliage

RE: Campground to explore white mountain region NH

As noted above, Danforth Bay is very nice. If you want large private sites, look in the L or E section. You won't be disappointed. We are going there in just over a week. Enjoy NH. You probably won't see peak foliage, but it will still be nice.

RE: RV Wholesalers.com..?

We bought from them in 2009. We had a couple snags, but got everything worked out. They did push hard on the extended warranty, but we had no plans of buying one to begin with.

RE: 1998 four winds class c

I owned a 1997 Four Winds with the 460 motor (not a V10) The hitch was rated for 3500lbs. The ratings on the E Super Duty were the same as the E450.
Jim
Was this build on the same chassis? May explain why ratings are the same.
I may be wrong, but in 1997 I don't think that Ford was splitting the two into E350 and E450 yet. Maybe that is why the ratings were the same as the E450. It has been about 4 years since I sold it so I may be wrong. Either way the Four Winds we had was a very good camper. The only problems I had were Ford related (manifolds and brakes mostly)
