RE: Engine heater

In doing that search, I stumbled upon the wattage for the 5.9L Cummins block heater. It's 750w (~6.5 to 7 amps) in case anyone was curious.And... For the even more curious people Real world numbers are 675w 5.75 amps " Source? My own. I have checked my own truck about 4 times now, the most recent check was just about a month ago. I use this to check it. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/NavyDood/ampswatts_zpsf1583780.jpg

RE: Any 49er fans out there?

Been a diehard fan for the better paft of 20+ year, through watching one of the best teams ever in NFL history (Montana young era's) to what they are now. There were many miserable years after Young retired. But they have a spark right now that just will not fizzle out. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/NavyDood/sanfran1-med.gif

RE: Penetrating Oil Question:

Kroil X2 it's what we use at the plant best stuff I have ever used. But it does have a nasty smell to it. Donx3 I haven't found anything better than Kroil. The smell is the second best thing about it IMO.

RE: Diesel pump Bio sticker?

All Love's truck stops across the US carry bioblend at the pump. I just noticed here in TX that the Alon/Fina stations they are now bioblend also. Those are the only two stations I fill up at.

RE: Best tires

My vote easily goes for Nitto Duragrapplers. http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/25918000.cfm I have 81,000 mile on them now. I am running 285/70-17s They are about ready to be changed and I will go with another set or maybe/possibly Firestone Transforce HT where do you drive that you can get 80k on a set of tires??? are the roads made of marshmallow? :-) Not sure I have ever gotten a set of tires past 45k on anything I have owned...Two trips towing 21K combined from TX to MD and two trips (truck only) from TX to MI. I commuted around 100 miles on work days when I was stationed in MD at AAFB.

RE: Spit shine boots: what am I doing wrong...?

After 20 years 4 months and 16 days in the Navy I never once had a high gloss on my boots. The Navy Uniform Regulations manual didn't say a single word about high lustre shine on boots. All it said was clean and black. Everytime someone superior to me tried to tell me I needed to shine my boots I would always say the same thing, "All the Uniform Regs says is clean and black." There was never a thing they could do.

RE: High Idle Control - May Have Found It

My Dodge came with the ability. While stationary, simply turn on the cruise control to "set", then bump up the "speed". Up to about 1200 RPM I think.Cruise on then set and the idle climbs to 1100rpm. From there you can use the resume/accel to idle up to 1400 rpm and use the decel to go back down to 1100rpm. To turn it off tap the brake, put it in gear, turn cruise off or hit the cancel button. I believe on Dodge trucks the dealer has to activate it........True. The dealer has to hook up the StarScan to enable the manual idle up feature. This above instructions are for the manual idle up. Auto idle up is already programmed into the ECM from the factory
