RE: Workhorse vs Ford

Am I right to worry ????

RE: 1996 Winnebago Rialta

I kept my Rialta 24 hours before giving it back to the dealer and loosing 3 grand in the process
Stay away from the underpowered 5 cylinders. The v 6 is much better
I would go with the x plorer..the Rialta is a pain to drive and has
a cheap feel to it

RE: Buy, or wait until the new vans are out?

The only thing better in Europe is the quiet Truma heating system...everything else is cheaply built & underequiped. Thats why I only have US or Canadian RVs
Even a poorly designed Chinook is much better than the best Eurovan

RE: Am I the only Idiot?

It happened to me...
I drilled holes next to the original ones on the metal bracket , and simply screwed the bolts in the undamaged area.
Worked fine :)

RE: Whatever some may say a Chinook is more a B Than a C

Burger King found dead horse in their burger patties in France recently. At least they got their moneys worth out of that dead horse.
just for info, Bk has only one small restaurant in France, open since December & the Irish meat provider sent them a batch of meat tainted with horse dna.
I hope it will not jeopardize the opening of more BK's..as I love double wprs, no cheese, no mayo, extra onion & ketchup !

RE: Whatever some may say a Chinook is more a B Than a C

The topic was : MORE A B THAN A C
that means more similarities ...cramped interiors..small size..looks the same to a untrained eye.
C's have more space..usually longer...most with cabover beds.
So call it what you want..it is still MORE like a B :-)

RE: New Here and Looking for a Class B

Let me also add that I've been looking at the Chinook Concourse.
I like it...but they're no longer produced (that's a worry) and they don't seem that 'stealthy'.
Thoughts anyone?
Ken
I bought a Chinook Concourse....WORST rv I Ever had.
Horrible sleeping arrangement..obnoxious generator & furnace
Front seats don't swivel...ridiculous solar panel...
& I find it ugly !
The devil made me buy it
If you find a side entry model..you will get a permanent bed :-)

RE: roundabouts make my Bigfoot shift ..

My Bigfoot shifted to one side on the Alcan Highway just inside the Alaskan border. I was at a truck stop checking it out and trying to decide what to do when the owner of the truck stop came out to help. After seeing the problem he went inside and brought out a inner tube and slid it in between the truck and my TC and then aired it up until the TC moved back over to center. He said he has done that hundreds of times. I bought two inner tubes and aired them up to fill the space on both sides and had no more problems. I have not used them since that trip four years ago and have had no trouble but have been on better roads.
I wonder how you position the inner tube without lifting the TC ?

RE: Not To Get Sour, But...

We are in Del Rio and today was the coldest of our trip. 50 degree high and supposed to be 30 tonight. At home there is snow on the ground and a high of 26. Supposed to be in the 60's all next week. Feels like spring to me. Arizona is colder right now so enjoy it! And they call me Uncle Grumpy..
you may be "grumpy" but I'm "Neverhappy" & I would drive back to Sunny Warm South FLA !

RE: roundabouts make my Bigfoot shift ..

Some interesting ideas...thanks, keep them coming
The idea is not to make loading the TC difficult due to permanent fixtures.
I like the inner tube idea..& the jack.. for easy repositioning.
Joe, it shifts on both...maybe a bit more on the beefed up shortbed :o

roundabouts make my Bigfoot shift ..

Every few miles in Europe , you get a roundabout..
At the end of the day the TC has shifted to the right
I have a rubber mat and my fastguns are tight.
How could I reposition it without unloading ?
What would be the best way to prevent shifting ?
Ideas ?
