Is there a cure for a smelly washing machine.....

......assuming there is actually such a condition.
My wife says YES....the machine smells like old, wet, damp, warm clothes. I cannot detect anything awry.
So....do washing machines accumulate lint in the bowels of the machine that give off an odor? Tide makes a machine cleaner/deodorizer that we have not yet tried. Does it work......and more importantly.......are washing machines supposed to smell "minty fresh" all the time or is there a long term, natural smell (like my armpits)?

Best place on INTERNET to check for news ?

So, I'm watching the boob tube mornings whilst making coffee and see the various "crawlers" at the bottom of the screen. An item interests me so I go to the 'puter and Google some key words.
May or may not show what I am seeking. So.....is there a place or two on the internet that will show LOTS and LOTS of headlines of all types, so I can scan and get a quick fix in the a.m.?
I have tried Bloomberg, Huffington, Fox, CNBC, etc., but they don't show what I seek....unless you start clicking on page after page.
Thanks

Caution: Bad Pun Ahead

At a famous US zoo, the porpoises were causing a commotion as they are known to be a bit.....ahem....randy. They were in a glass tank for all to see.
The zoo administrator read that raw seagull meat would sublimate their libidos and tamper down the friskiness. He secured the seagull meat and told the keeper to feed it to the porpoises.
The keeper headed over to the porpoise tank. He was late going to lunch and cut thru the lion's enclosure to save time. Plus, they had just eaten a full meal and were languid and sleeping.
As he approached the porpoise tank, the FBI came out of the bushes, arrested him under the provisions of the 1937 Mann Act and took him away in handcuffs.
Why.........?

Because he crossed a staid lion with a gull for immoral porpoises.

Who likes RAO'S spaghetti sauce ?

WE DO......it is hands down the best sauce that comes in a jar.
They make various kinds but we are partial to Italian Sausage & Mushroom Sauce.
Rao's is a long time restaurant in NYC. This is EXPENSIVE...but worth it. Think we stocked up on a case of 12 from Amazon or WalMart, I forget.

RE: Does GS Insurance cover engine repair?

I had thought that the plan ADMINISTRATOR was a middleman or gatekeeper that looks at the claim, makes a judgement and denies the claim......or approves the claim..... and sends it to the UNDERLYING INSURANCE COMPANY to pay the claim.
I think Nationwide MIGHT be a company that has it's own "gatekeeper" Not sure.
Usually the underlying insurance company (and its co-insurers) and listed at the bottom of the contract, in fine print.

RE: Can we talk about LIMA BEANS, please

TexasShadow, not to worry as I am the local head of the KBHA. (Kidney Bean Haters of America). We do like Pinto beans and white Navy beans, however. Cuban black beans are also good.
Had not thought of canned limas and will investigate; as well as trying to find some of the brands of frozen limas mentioned.

RE: It Is So Worth It To Have A Great Steak

Once in awhile we buy Prime ribeyes and other cuts from Lobel's or another on-line butcher. Dry aged is a lot better than wet aged. Really expensive but since we don't do this but once a month......worth it.
On the grill with real charcoal until medium rare. Let it rest. A little S&P and a pat of plain or herbed butter. Yum!

Can we talk about LIMA BEANS, please

We lightly steamed a frozen package of baby limas last night.
Not good. Not mushy but tasted old or off at bit. Beans were not a uniform size and different shades of green.
This was a store brand, not one of the biggie brands. Can you recommend a good frozen brand of lima beans, please. Thanks.

RE: Truck camper

I used to have a T/C and recall that if your F350 needs to be towed WITHOUT the T/C, GS will also take care of the T/C......somehow.

RE: San Francisco Area RV Parks

Never been to CandleStick. We have stayed at SF RV Resort in Pacifica, CA. There was a mixup with our reservations and Dorothy was most helpful in resolving the situation. Heated swimming pool, good dog walking area and good folks.

RE: 8.1L Engine Radiator Aux Fans

You might try www.workhorse.com and/or go to a big Chevy/GMC dealership and see if they have this item on hand.

RE: Help on private property ?????

OK, here is the rest of the story. RV was wedged against a concrete post that shielded a gas pump. Just finished filling up and pulled ahead, made a left and "clunk". Passenger outside compartment aft door took the hit. Can't go forward or back.
I call ERS and after explaining my situation, rep says can't help, "you are on private property". "WHAT"...I scream into the phone. Rep says safety issue involved and I must call police and fire, before we can talk further. Rep's supervisor says same thing.
Gas station manager calls for a tow truck and explains what's up. No problem says driver, no need to call police and fire. Truck pulls me away from post.
What got me going in the first place was the rep telling me they could not help because I was on private property, i.e. a gas station.
So as Paul Harvey used to say: "Now you know.............."

RE: Help on private property ?????

Thanks, Adam for your reply.
To clear up my first post, I said the "dispatch rep and his supervisor....." No tow truck driver aligned with ERS was involved. I went to the yellow pages and found the tow truck on my own.

Help on private property ?????

I had occasion to call ERS last week for a tow truck. I was in a gas station and was informed by both your dispatch rep and his supervisor, that because I was on private property.....no tow truck could be sent.
So I called a local tow truck and problem solved.
My question is: Where in my Member Benefit Brochure for Platinum is help on private property excluded? I could not find the wording.
If I was at home and needed a tow somewhere, am I excluded because our house is private property? A WalMart parking lot? A burger joint?
I have a reimbursement claim form I will send to you.....but what is the real deal on private property help?
Thank you

RE: Is this how Platinum Roadside Service is supposed to work???

djedgar: I'm not 100% sure of the circumstances, but.....maybe you should have asked to be towed on Sunday to your home town for repairs there. (That COULD have been the "nearest professional service center") ?? Platinum PLUS upgrade gives you up to 100 miles over the NPSCenter.
Hope I got this right. Q: What was the "nearest" repair facility that GSERS mentioned to you? And Michal called to tell you he .."could not find anyone to do the tow"?? That sounds strange.
