RE: Tires...why do rv tires blow apart so bad?

When you have a flat on your car you KNOW it's flat immediately but with a trailer you might tow it for miles and never know it's flat until you see debris flying. People OFTEN then believe they just had a blow out when they may have had a gradual leak and just towed on until it self destructed. This would get my vote. I don't buy the argument about where they are made for a second. People that talk that talk are just parroting what they heard from another mis-informed person.

RE: ipad2

When in doubt, make a reservation and take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple store. Or ask the geniuses (?) on RV.net :B Because there is a Apple store on every corner right?

RE: MODERATORS - Its Time to..........

It's certainly a positive maybe. Then again, possibly not.

RE: Questions for those with a slide.

Never a big deal for us running the slide in and out when needed. Heck, my 9 year old son could do it. Takes literally seconds to deploy.

RE: washer & dryer - yea or nea ?

Well put. For a fulltimer a must. We use our Splendide combo EVERY SINGLE DAY, Handy as heck. I have better things to do than do laundry EVERY SINGLE DAY.

RE: washer & dryer - yea or nea ?

As said...small loads, and takes forever to dry. Worthless with 4 people in the family. Drying jeans is an all day affair, so is drying any winter clothes. Need full hookups to use. Air winterizing was a total failure. Had to replace parts after the first winter. Takes a TON of RV anti-freeze to winterize it. We pulled ours our and sold them.

RE: The Great Northern Redneck Adventure - Final Planning

You are headed to my neck of the woods. I'm in Sault Sainte Marie Michigan. You can't miss DaYoopers Tourist Trap. It's on US 41 West of Ishpeming. Gotta see Big Gus, The largest running working chainsaw in the world. Runs on a Chevy v8 and Big Ernie, The World’s Largest Working Rifle. Check it out: http://dayoopers.com/thetrap.html

RE: IPAD3 (App Store viewing)

Doesn't matter which iPad all iOS devices are the same. iPad Setttings > Safari > Block Pop-Ups Option Applies to all web sites so you'll need to turn on and off accordingly.... Sometimes that works, sometimes not. I had to download a different browser to allow one site I use to open a login window.

RE: Apple Pulls Lion and Snow Leopard From Retail/Online Stores!

The way I understand it, If you purchased any of the previous versions of any of the operating systems, then you can re-download them through the app store. New sales of the OS has been shut down but you can still download it. I tried it myself. You can in fact re-download older versions of the OS through the app store.

I upgraded to ML and it's snappier. Not a whole lot of noticeable earth shaking new features. AirPlay Mirroring is pretty kick butt though.

RE: IPhone overheated??

Need to add that when hiking and sightseeing in temps well over 100 degrees, I have never had my iPhone or Droid overheat when it was in my pocket or on my belt.

RE: IPhone overheated??

Interesting to hear this. I have had two generations of Motorola Droids. The first generation from just over 2 years ago used to got HOT when I used it as a GPS in the windshield mount. Way way over 95 degrees. It never stopped running. My new droid from Motorola does not get hot when used as a gps, but I have got it much hotter than 95 in the sun. I purposely get motorola phones as I use the professional heavy duty radios all the time and they are very tough and nearly unbreakable. I was hoping that their cell phones were tough in the same way. So far yes. I know my wife has her thoughts towards an Iphone 5 when available this fall. I have to tell her about the heat issue. To the poster that pooh poohed using smartphones as phones. Well, in my opinion that is the most important thing a phone does. Make calls. Sure it does many other things, but if it is not a good-great phone it is not worth having. Both of the Motorolas have been very good phones. The phone before the first Droid was another big brand that I don't care to own again as it was a poor phone. I am surprised that Apple the World's best maker of many high tech products would have a phone that would not work all summer in Houston. I had a droid also. It would overheat and give you the warning on the screen too if you left it in a hot vehicle. We aren't talking about getting hot from use. There is no heat "issue" as you call it. We are talking about leaving the phone in direct sunlight in a closed vehicle. The phone is too hot to even put to your ear. The actual warning doesn't happen until internal CPU temperatures reach over 113 degrees. We are not talking ambient temperatures here. I have used my phone in temperatures well over 100 in the desert. The statement that "Apple the World's best maker of many high tech products would have a phone that would not work all summer in Houston" is just silly.

RE: X Hose as seen on TV

Watch the video again. All of the footage where it shows it shrinking down are hugely sped up. I thought about it also for use on the boat and other stuff but after seeing that it looks like it will take a long time to go back to the small size....I passed.

RE: Most beautiful view in lower 48 states?

In my travels, I have seen so many beautiful things in the lower 48 that it would be almost impossible to choose just one of them. For sure.
