Blue Ox repairs.

I have a Blue Ox brake device in for repairs for over 2 weeks now. I called the co. and was told they are not getting any air compressors from their vendors and do not know when they will. I was asked to keep calling back every week or so to see if they have any parts come in. Wow this is a departure from the old days back in 2005 when they sent me a refurburshed unit within a week. I assume they are not building any new units either! Anyone else having problems with Blue Ox.

RE: Diesel air intake hose torn.

Good news! I took a chance and called the new Monaco LLC and was suprised at the good service I received. The part needed will be shipped to me. The cost is another factor....over $15 per foot, but I have the part coming and we can get back on the road. This is good news for all of us who were cut off by the old company. I hope the new mh are better than the older models and the service competetive with tiffin.

RE: Diesel air intake hose torn.

Thanks , I have been looking for a replacement on line and no luck yet. Monaco may have a tech available later today to advise, I will use the duct tape idea. I was concerned about moisture and dust entering the filter from the engine compartment. This is a thing that should not break in such a short time.

RE: Diesel air intake hose torn.

The tears are on the intake side of the filter.

Diesel air intake hose torn.

I have inspected the air intake hose and found some tears near the filter. Is this really a problem that needs attention? If so where can you find these flex hoses? It is on a Cummins ISL.

RE: need a new refer in the Motor home? Easy cheep fix.

I have a demented dometic NDA1402 frig., it works then it don't. Lost valuable life saving drugs, food, and all the frozen stuff because of the erattic frig. I have two buddies who have 08 Imperials with residential frigs. and they love them. If you would not buy a coach because of the frig being reliable , you gotta explain to me! The new mh have this as an option, and many buyers are going for them. I have not met many folks who spend a lot of money on a mh who want to boondock when they can get full hookups. If you had to use a small Honda to power the frig so what.

RE: Lazy Days RV service

Update. I had a call from Judy Bolton at Lazydays today. Ms. Bolton said she had been asked to find out what happend and try to correct the problems. She was sincere and had already taken some actions to research the situation. She listened to me and was understanding to my problems and assured me that LD was concerned and wanted to make things right with me. It was reassuring that the call was made and that an effort was put forth to correct their mishandling of my case. It is unfortunate that the situation happened, but maybe this type of communication will help avoid situations like this in the future. I hope so.

RE: Lazy Days RV service

Just to fill you in, we have owned the mh for 2yrs. I personally washed the roof and the entire mh just before the last trip by hand. I certainly did know the condition of the roof. You don't pull off calulking material from a unit to check it. Then leave it off without fixing it and telling the owner. There is no excuse for their actions.

RE: Lazy Days RV service

Thanks for your interest.. I hope no one gets taken when they get repairs. I had a local RV shop reseal the skylight for $20 and they sold me a tube of the sealant so I can do any others myself. I agree, its your rv and you should be shown any and all situations before the work is done. This could be done outside the shop area to meet any insurance requirements. Yes we were able to escape, but we saw so many older cutomers there that would probably fall for the gimicks,ie: free food, and a comfortable lounge etc., and just go with the diagnosis and pay the prices. We did not stay to see the Tiffin 2010 RV show with Bob Tiffin. I wonder if he knows who he is dealing with?

Lazy Days RV service

I am posting to tell of our experiance recently at LD service dept. I called and made a appointment to have the Dometice frig. repaired, while we coming home from Key West. The response was very cordual and I felt good about going in. We arrived and was set up for a early appt.. The service advisor met us and took the information and arranged to get the mh driven to the service area. Later the serv. advisor paged us and told me our frig would need a total new cooling unit, and some new thermisters and the cost would be over $4300! He also said they had inspected several other areas and that our roof needed a total recaulking and that would cost $1050. He also said they would not accept Easy Care extended warranty and I would have to pay cash or credit card for the repairs. The mh is a 07 Holiday Rambler Imperial. I was totally floored by this and got the in-the-gut feeling we were being ripped off. I denied any repairs, and we left. Upon getting home I went up on the roof of the Mh to look at the caulking, what I found made me furious. The serv. tech has removed some caulking from around our shower skylight so that it will indeed leak. There were other evidence of intensional damage. I post this to only warn those who go to LD , please do not take their word , check out for yourself before you allow any repairs.

RE: Definition of "under inflated".

When we picked up our mh the tires were at pressure levels equal to the axel capacity. The front was 14600lb axel, the pressure was 115psi on G670RV 295/80/22.5 . When we get the actual loaded weight of the mh these pressures may be changed, but I do not see raising them above the axel limitations nor lowering them below the mfg. min. for the size tires used. Until I get the mh weight, I am using them as they are. I have not notice unusual tire wear or harsh ride.

RE: oil filter wont budge

Is this the first time to remove the filter? If so it could be the engine paint holding the filter. I had a hard time removing the drain plug because of the way the mfg painted the engine with the drain plug getting locked down by heavey coats of paint.

RE: Are Newells subject to delam??

I am not a expert on Newell but at a FMCA rally in Perry Ga I saw a new Newell with a sidewall split about 8 inches from the roof line down. I asked the salesman and he had not seen it, but was obviously suprised and said it must have happened on the way down to the show. I assumed the sidewall was fiberglass.

Replace nda 1402 frig. ?

I am considering a standard frig for a replacement to the Dometic nda 1402 sidewise in the MH. Has anyone tried this and what frig did you chose to replace with? Thanks

RE: Fueling up

We generally use Love's for diesel. I set up at the pump with a walkie talkie and DW goes inside with another walkie talkie. She pays and calls me to start fueling. She picks up card and receipt. To solve the problem with spilled fuel on your shoes, put a shop towel on your MH steps and it will absorbe the fuel and keep your MH clean. DW does sometimes buy other items while in the store, but after paying for the fuel she is not in a buying mood.

RE: Monaco Diesel Pusher slide question (2009 model)

I feel for the poor guy. However he is not alone, Monaco left a lot of owners out on a limb with a new coach and no waranty or support. I am one of them. The new owners of Monaco have a big pr problem and it was self inflicted. I hope he can get his coach repaired without too much pain in the pocket.

RE: Waste tank rinser plugged

You might try to use a product called CLR. Use a short piece of waterhose attached to the spray inlet and fill it with CLR and let it stand overnite. It might dislodge the clog at the sprayer tip. worth a try.

RE: salt air damage on Rv

We are going to be in Key West for a month. I wondered the same thing but it rains every day so and that should rinse the outside. The brakes are probably going to have some rust.
