Problem updating my state maps

I am running Windows 7. After compiling the map and going to "save as", my pictures file only allows me to choose between png or bmp. No jpeg is offered. Trying to download as a png file, the submit changes page comes back with "only jpeg and gif files can be uploaded. What am I doing wrong?

RE: N.W. Indiana to Madison, WI

If you want to avoid Chicago and the Tri-State Tollway, take I-80 West to I-39 and go North to Madison.
x3. Lived in the area many years & always recommend it.
Early on I thought this may be a route to take. How do I obtain an I-Pass?

RE: Seattle area camp grounds

You may want to consider Gig Harbor RV park. Really cool little fishing town to stay in. You will have to take a toll bridge ($4) to get to mainland).. It is a different adventure.

N.W. Indiana to Madison, WI

Gee, I didn't even know this segment of the forum existed. I am looking for the easiest way to travel from N.W. Indiana (Elkhart area) to Madison, Wisconsin. I have driven through the Chicago greater area many years ago and remember nothing but lots of traffic, bad roads and tolls. Any help here would be appreciated.

RE: Amish Norcold cooling units reliability?

We replaced our Norcold cooling system with one from National RV Refrigeration. in Shipshewana, Indiana. While the owner Leon is Amish, his rebuild is not "THE" Amish cooling unit. His is different and he will tell you what that difference is. This is the one Mac had put in as while we were there getting ours done, Mac scheduled an appointment with Leon to replace his. According to Leon, they had talked about why the Norcold's were failing and how his different system was better.
Dale
You have certainly confused me here. I have spoken with Mr. Force a few times and he told me Shipshewana was a place I could have mine upgraded. I spoke to J.R. in Shipshewana-he is the tech and most likely will install mine when I pass through that area.
How could a third product (not Norcold or the Amish Unit) enter the equation here? Is he trying to duplicate the Amish upgrade?
I have reviewed this forum for many years and I have read a few negative posts about the Amish Unit. Some were install errors by owner. I have also read negative posts here about the candy man, Santa Claus and all other good things. In perspective, there are way more positive comments about the Amish Unit than negative. OK , the history is relatively short but growing. To not buy something because it is not the way Mr. Ford made it back in the day is looking through a bent prism.
To the OP, Marv-talk to me out on the race track and I will share with you what I have learned. I heard you are in the park but have not seen you yet.

RE: Rear radiator fin clogging, take a look

I use a 1 1/2 gal insecticide sprayer to apply Simple Green with. You can get into the awkward angles to apply and re-apply the Simple Green. I then use a black tank cleaning wand (one hole) to flush Simple Green through-again you can get this into hard to get areas. Run engine right after for several minutes. This should be done every year.

RE: Norcold with Residential Refer, Amish unit, Info Summary

My question to the OP is when or if your halon distiguisher goes off---then what? To my my mind, you only have three options.
1 Replace the Norcold 1200 with another one. Hopefully it would only require the cooling unit but what if the fire took out some of the rest of the unit before fire goes out. If only the cooling unit, you replace with another 1200 cooling unit which to my knowledge is pretty much the same as old except , perhaps they may have the thermal cuttout built in. Same weak design of cooling tubes. An entire new Norcold fridge is $$$$.
2 Replace existing cooling unit with the Amish unit. You know the price there. Construction of tubes is considerably bettter than Norcold.
3. Install a residential unit. You have $$$$ here and it may cramp your dry camp style unless you have proper batts and inverter.
I think I would take door # 2.

I'm just trying to understand why anyone ouside of the region would schedule significant time to be spent in the Northwest in winter. This is our sixth year in a row of succesfully avoiding it.

RE: Preventing water in p-traps from evaporating

I think I prefer the mineral oil over vegetable oil plus I have it as I use it to seal wooden cutting boards.

RE: Preventing water in p-traps from evaporating

Glad to hear it works. I will try it. I thought about the RV plumbing antifreeze which I do have but I was concerned that there was an alcohol component which would promote evaporation.

Preventing water in p-traps from evaporating

I have been trying to figure out a way to prevent p-traps throughout the house from evaporating and allowing gasses in. After some searching, I found a site that talks about puting in 2 ounces of vegetable oil in each trap. Has anyone ever tried this? Does it work?

RE: Help so I won't have to dress 2 dogs up as cats

I might be able to help. First of all, most parks who say they are dog friendly mean that they have a policy that accept dogs. They ussualy disqualify two or three of the dangerous breeds (pitbull, doberman, etc). They almost allways set a two dog maximum.
We had to find a park for friends this winter who are travelling for the first time with four small ****zues(sp?). Last season, we had to look at about 15-24 parks in Mesa/Apache Junction area. We found two for them. The first one is in Apache Junction (n. Side) but I can't remember their name. The park I found for them who agreed to four small dogs is Weavers Needle in N. Apache Junction. A real nice park with amazing views of the Superstitions. The key is if you can find a park willing to allow four dogs they have to be small AND they have to be behaved. I personally don't know why someone wants to travel with four dogs. We love dogs but one was allway enough dog love for us. It does put a big crimp in where you can stay with these dogs.
Funny you should mention Valle Del Oro-they are part of Cal Am and they instituted a two dog limit a year or two ago. Someone gave you bum info.

RE: Sealants when replacing antennae on roof

First of all, the easiest way to remove sealants of any kind is an osscilating multifunction tool (Dremel or Harbor Freight brand). Cuts through like butta.
I am a fan of Geocel sealant in a quart can. It has a thick viscosity and applies rather easily. It never hardens 100% therefor it does'nt harden totally and crack o peel. You can obtain it at CW and other RV parts stores.

RE: Question on Tampa/St. Petersburg. FL area

Lazy Days gets my vote. About $30 a night and they GIVE everybody in your party FREE breakfast AND lunch every day. Cracker Barrel and huge Camping World on premises.
I would like to know where this $30 figure comes from. Theie website shows much more than that.

Question on Tampa/St. Petersburg. FL area

I am considering spending approximately a week in this area as we tour Florida next year. I have only been to Tampa once on business and know nothing about the region.
What is the best city and park to stay in. The month would be May and we prefer private parks. I have ideas where else to stay in Florida but this area is stumping me.
