RE: Not happy with Lippert-need to vent

The Lippert repair guy just left. He replaced all the brackets on the frame. The one that broke was not even suppose to be used-his words. He said someone took off the original and used a lower grade bracket and didn't weld it right. Not sure why they did this. But then again Gary @ Lippert said this frame should not haave been used. He showed DH everything he did and what should have been done by Lippert from the beginning. The slide moves better than it ever did. Crisis over for now.

Not happy with Lippert-need to vent

On Tuesday we loaded our camper for a trip on Thursday. Everything was done, we put in the slide for the bedroom then go to put the living room slide in when we hear a bang and the camper shook. The slide stopped moving. We call the place where we bought the camper and they were no help. They didn't know what to do and said we needed to bring the camper to them, an hour away. That is not going to happen. I call Winni and talked to Greg. Greg got Gary Stillwell involved from Lippert. Gary says its not the frame and then tells us what frame we have. We say the frame he is describing is nothing like ours. And yes the issue is with the frame. He basically says we don't know what we are talking about. After DH takes about 20 pictures it is determined we are right. The problem with the frame is that it was not welded properly. Gary is not about to admit this. Thankfully DH has welding experience :) At this time the RV dealer is out of the picture. Winni sees they are not stepping up to the plate. Gary is suppose to send someone out to our house on Tuesday. As of yet there is no confirmation. I lost our deposit for reservation and we have another trip planned for later this month. I haven't cancelled that one yet. Right now I just wanted to vent, don't want to get things stirred up about Lippert. Apparently the frame we have is one they haven't used in a few years, and not sure why they used this-Gary's words not mine. Our unit is a 2012 so where did they get this frame? Why didn't they have QC on the welds? There is no welds where there should be. And the cross tube (I think that is the part they said)is on the inside of the frame and should be on the outside. There is suppose to be a manual crank and there isn't. In fact the RV Dealer says just push it in-that didn't happen either. Thanks for letting me vent. Its upsetting when you get all worked up about going away and it aint happenin'

RE: Time for cookie exchanges

Everyone seems to love these and they are pretty easy to make. I do't frost them but a friend of mine does. Hope you enjoy. Sugar Cookies 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1 cup margerine or butter softened 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon almond extract 2 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 cream of tartar Mix powdered sugar, margerine/butter, egg, vanilla and almond extract. Mix flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Cover and refrigerate at least two hours. Preheat oven 375. Divide dough into halves. Roll each half 3/16" thick on lightly floured cloth covered board. Cut in shapes. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 7 - 8 minutes.

RE: Need input on Montana, Open Range and Sunnybrook Raven

Hello, We bought a 2910 Raven this past Jan. We took 2 wk vac to Myrtle Beach and literally every other wkend we are out camping. We have used in the snow/cold, rain, sun and love it! It also came with a 2 yr warranty which we liked. So far so good. there are alot of choices but only you can decide which is best for you, good luck! judy

RE: Please offer your unbiased opinion-Moving cross country

Gar, My hubby and I went to Alaska a couple of years ago (early Sept). He had this grand idea of wanting to move there. We spent about 2 wks there, traveled in a rented MH. On the flight back home he said he was very dissapointed and said he could never live there. I loved it which surprised both of us :). My advice is to go and visit Alaska and see if its trully what you think it is. Good luck to you and your decisions. regards, judy

RE: RVing with a cat

We travel with our 3 furboys on every trip. If the trip is longer than an hour and half I put a litter box on the floor by the backseat of our truck. We too use harnesses but for the most part they just sit on our laps when outside. Inside the 5vr they have free reign and we keep a litter box in the bathroom. It sounds like your cat will be fine, have fun. regards, judy

We bought a Sunnybrook/Winnie earlier this year. I didn't see the Bristol line but they do have Raven, which we bought, and a lite line. You many want to check these out, hope this helps.

RE: Rule of thumb? How many nights a year to justify a camper?

We camp year round and every other weekend. Plus 2-3 whole weeks vacationing to visit family. We started with a tent and worked are way up to a truck camper to a 5th wheel. I think whatever you do is justifable (sp?) only by you. I know some who spend only one week a year in their RV. I love camping and traveling too much :) good luck to you and your decision.

Cat Chewing

Hello, We have 3 male cats. 2 are brothers who just turned 3 and our 3rd boy is 2 1/2. We cover our furniture in the 5vr with sheets. The younger boy loves to chew and make holes in the sheets. I don't know why. They get hard food, have plenty of chew toys and lots of love. Does anyone else have issues with their cat chewing? I tell him no when we see him doing it and pick him up and try and divert his attention. Any suggestions would be appreciated. regards, judy

RE: This is why I love to RV

We do the same every other wkend. DH works M-W with half day Thurs so he takes off, gets set up then I follow after work. We stay w/in an hour from my work and I commute on Fridays. Sometimes he does nothing and sometimes he fishes. Its amazing how relaxed you are and how many places are w/in a hours drive. I am glad to hear others do the same. We love our RV too.
