RE: Port St Lucie West RV Resort

If you are referring to Outdoor Resorts in St. Lucie West Yes I am currently staying at the resort. I love it and think it is the nicest motor home resort I have ever stayed in. All roads and parking pads are paved, lots of trees and flowers and what is not is grass. Par 3 golf course, 3 swimming pools, 2 tennis courts, lakes with fountains and waterfalls. Club house with planned activities that are open to renters and owners alike. Close to shopping and Restaurants.

RE: KOA changes

We always stayed at KOA’s all the time when traveling. But lately there rates have seemed to clime and we have found other campgrounds to stay at. For instance KOA West Memphis use to be $35 a night but now they are over $50 a night. Extra charges for pets close to I 55 and truly a one night routine stop and their rates exceed those at Branson MO a tourist destination. No Thanks

RE: Floor heater or Heat Pump?

I use my heat pumps unless it is going to freeze. Then I use my Furnace as it will heat the basement as well and keep all pipes from freezing.

RE: Class A only campgrounds

I do not know of any listing. The only way to find them is by advertisements in the motor home magazines and their classified sections. The other way is by word of mouth. Some Outdoor resorts are motor coach only and I believe Signature Resorts are Class A only. I am sure there are more but I am not familiar with them.

RE: Help finding 4 lane roads

I live in North central Arkansas and we too like 4 lane roads. For my trip to Florida I take US 412 (2-lane) to I-55 south to Jackson, Miss. then US 49 to US 98 to Mobile, Alabama. I-10 to I-75. After my first 3 hours it is all 4 lane roads except a 20 mile section of US 98 in Alabama. Have a good trip

RE: old motorhomes

I purchased a MH that was 17 yrs old and traded it when it was 23yrs old. During the five years we enjoyed it we made nine 3,000 mile round trips to Florida. Also during this time we did have one break down and it was on a short 100 mile trip to Branson. Thats why we have Good Sam road insurance.

RE: Dometic Door power Awning

I used my hand to close the awning while using the remote to wind it up with out any tension on it. Then I zip tied it in place for travel. As for a repair there is a topic on the Newmar site which covers just this.

RE: FMCA made a mistake.....IMO

We already have a great RV club open to ALL types of RV’s. Good Sam. FMAC was and is a club for a small section of the market with similar interests. I belong to both and hope both stay just as they are. Yes I am a little disappointed that they are not continuing their medical assist as part of their annual dues. But Good Sam does not include it either. It is an added benefit at an additional cost.
In these financial times business and clubs have to do what is necessary to stay afloat. And whatever decision is made will not please everybody.

RE: Southern Florida class A resorts

All sites are concrete 60 X 18 pads with 50/30 amp electric etc. All the roads in the park are paved. The rest of the area is covered with grass, flowers and trees. The only sand you will find in the whole resort are the sand traps on the golf course.

RE: HWH jacks

Thanks for the replies. The jacks go up only until there is no further weight on them then the stop until I hit the store button. I will level the MH in the am and measure like suggested and see which one or ones move thanks for the suggestions.
