RE: Get rid of the tips

Yea, and the forums may just go away also. Quit complaining, and click on some ads, or you may find the next time you log on, there is nothing to log on to. The writing is on the wall, but it seems some members are illiterate. That may not be a bad thing. iRV2.com is also a good forum and at least their programmers appear to have basic IT training. I just went and checked out the iRV2 forum and it looks like a fairly good alternative if something happened to this one. All we need is a place to share issues, experiences etc...

RE: Tow Bar & The Toad

With my Jeep Liberty, when the key is in the ignition, the doors won't lock when I push the interior door lock switch and close the door, but they will lock via the remote key fob. You should be able to lock the doors via the passenger side interior lock. At least that's how my Liberty works.

RE: Get rid of the tips

Repeat after me: FORMAT, FORMAT, FORMAT, FORMAT, FORMAT - place all text type stuff to run across page, with word wrap to adapt from teensy screens to wide angle home computer screens. FORMAT, FORMAT, FORMAT, FORMAT....................... :C Basic web design 101.:S

RE: Get rid of the tips

Get rid of the tips or at least offer a button to hide them. Not a usefull feature at all, other than blatant advertising. Think about it....why would people providing an absolutely FREE service NOT want to advertise to recover a little of the costs? Personally I have no problem with the advertising, it's the position of the tips that make no sense and messing up the format. They should be a frame-bar either across the top or the bottom.

RE: Cleaning Suggestions for the "Gritty" Patch on the Stairs?

Let a bit of soapy water sit on it for a few minutes then hit it with a high pressure washer on top; that's how I clean our's..

RE: "Forum Technical Support Related Tips"

The tips column was added to 3 of the portals in the first roll-out. I think they will be rolled out to the other portals, eventually. Tom Say it ain't so !!:S

RE: Solving the Antenna Crank Problem??

Buy a new handle. I've had mine come loose and it turned out to be cracked. They are not very expensive and some Walmart's carry them.

RE: Fuel Mileage?

Somewhere around 8 mpg under normal conditions.

RE: What to place under wheels during storage?

I pump the tires about 10lbs over max and leave it in 2x10's; I also cover the tires. Our MH sits on crushed stone but I still prefer to put the 2x10's under for the long winter storage and the frost working in the spring.

RE: Where do you keep your portable generator?

When we had our 5th wheel, our Honda 2000 genny went in the front storage bay (basement) of the 5er. When running it I would lock it to the landing gear and leave it under the over-hang with the exhaust out.

RE: Get rid of the tips!

I've just stopped using the RV.Net portal. I'm now going in using the Woodall's portal; no tips and my screens are fine.

RE: Get rid of the tips!

The Tips feature is really terrible, it’s in the wrong place, hard to read but mostly it’s only someone’s opinion. It is really aggravating and makes using the web pages very frustrating. Other than the fact that it is playing havoc with many of our screens, it leaves RV.Net wide open to misinterpretation of a situation regardless of whose name is referenced as the originator. They really should eliminate them.

RE: New site Format

Its just strange to me that no one seems to like it but those advertising - and they think its doing them some good. We can hope the browser developers can make add-ons to remove them from the pages. It's those "Advertisers" that let us use this site at no charge. "Nothing for nothing for nobody". You miss the point. If no one likes it, what do the advertisers feel they are gaining? Nothing, other than ticking folks off.

RE: Next arrow

The the new Tips feature that's causing all the problems. They really should simply drop the whole thing and go back to thew prior format.

RE: New page format???

Something must be working right ... As of late, I been having this uncontrollable desire to join Good Sam's Club. You can have my membership if you want. I'm thinking of dropping mine after I got my lastest issue of Highways magazine with November & December combined and it's so thin you can almost see through it.

RE: need your opinion or thoughts (awning)

I fully agree with the others; it's not installed properly. I have a Carefree Eclipse and it is installed much lower than yours. I don't know how a slide-out would work with it. http://i50.tinypic.com/2e3xr8l.jpg

RE: are ALL RVs crossing in to the us searched?

We cross back & forth throughout the May/October camping season sometimes with and without the rv. With the rv we get checked about 50% of the time; without the rv about 10% of the time. It's the luck of the draw. This is going either way (US/Canada). This past season we got x-rayed once amd missed it all the other times. We cross at least once a week; sometimes as 2-3 times a week. If you don't cross regularly (which they see when scanning the passports), you will likely get checked about 90% of the time.
