RE: Picture From Last Saturday Night....

Not my cup of tea but with the popularity of outdoor entertainment centers it's just going to get more common, as long as one is inside the CG's rules and reasonably considerate of the neighbors, go for it. If it really bothers me, which it might, I'm in an rv and can roll up the awning and leave. Would probably be better off going over introducing yourself and joining in though. Now if the Cornhuskers game was on leaving would not be an option.

RE: The Shakedown...our successful first trip out.

Didn't know a hybrid came with 52 gallons, pretty nice.
The tank sensors are always incorrect, just the way they are. There are replacement ones if you get ambitious but you'll have to ask around to see if they work better or not.

RE: Bought a used HTT today!

For safety sake, use a WDH. I'd go the next size up from the 500 lb if you go with the Camco. I use a 600 lb Equalizer and it's none too big. The manual on the Traverse may have info on this too.

RE: Traveling in Tornado prone areas

I didn't read all the posts but if not mentioned get a map that shows the names of the counties. Had tornado's a few nights outside Nashville a few years back, had no idea where they were as the weather radio reported by county only. Good thing the host drove around rounding up folks to head for the bathrooms when they were close by.

RE: Bought a used HTT today!

Congrats, we enjoy ours and have had no major issues, good little trailers. If you have any questions drop me a note. By the way, it's actually a 16' box, 20' bumper to ball, have yet to figure out where the 18 in 18sb comes from.
Couple things to keep in mind, mine is tongue heavy, not much carrying capacity, and do check your tires.

RE: Are we all on the darkside?

Yup, this is how I look at it. The HTT really is a lot lighter inside then a TT, not trying to be derogatory. Can't say I've ever used the darkside term, other then in this thread, to me sitting in a TT at the RV shows feels more like I've entered a cave. So far we've resisted, but some day we too will go, to the darkside.

RE: Who here cooks inside camper or Outside camper?

Unless the weather is very bad we cook outside on the coleman 2 burner and the Lil Smokey grill. We do make coffee in the am inside on the stove or the nuke if we have power. We try to avoid raising the humidity inside, hence the Coleman. We do almost always eat inside.
And yes, I've seen black beer in the ADK's.

RE: Am I crazy to consider a 1999?

I think the majority of folks with Hybrids trade them in on TT's, the rest go the Craig's list route. Chances are you're going to have to travel to get them, you must have even fewer dealers around you then I do in western Ma.
Have you tried SearchTempest or similar? hybrids are also called Expandables.

RE: Am I crazy to consider a 1999?

It seems like from what I read, finding a used hybrid that has no water issues is tough.
I would agree that finding a 12-14 year old Hybrid that has not had a leak would be a rare find. Of course around here finding one that old in any condition is rare.
I also agree that $4400 is way over priced, maybe $2k, if it's in good shape. You have to figure you'll be fixing something, finding parts may be impossible or at the least difficult.

RE: What kind of maintence on my Jayco roof? non handy person

Maybe cleaned and inspected once or twice a year, you don't recoat anything. If you see cracks in the caulking or holes in the EPDM, have it fixed right away at the dealer. As you are The Most Unhandy Man in the World, kick back with a Dos Equis while they do the work. A coworker brings his 5th into the dealer before the 1st use of the year, they do all his maintenance, all he does is drop it off and pay the bill.
Like most things, if you keep up the maint on the roof, it's not a lot of work. All you have to do is inspect it and touch-up the caulk now and then. Clean it if you wish but it's not imperative.

RE: Hybrid Seasonal Tips/Tricks?

I guess it boils down to go ahead and do your thing, if you leave the tents out just know it's going to take it's toll. Maybe be prepared to trade it in in a couple years and not worry about it, or do what you can to protect it.
On a side note, I noticed on my trip through Tn and Ky that a lot of seasonals at one particular park used an extra fridge outside under the awning. Might not be a bad idea if you can snag a small one for drinks and such, and if it's allowed.

RE: Hybrid Seasonal Tips/Tricks?

I'd think for seasonal use a HTT is the same as a TT but with tenting, so I'd only be extra concerned with such. Covering as much of it as you can with Gizmo's or some such and closing it up when you leave sounds like all you can do. After it rains, do remove the Gizmo's and see if it gets wet underneath as mine does, you'll need to let it dry. Keep an eye out for mildew.

RE: Starcraft 227CKS

Haven't seen either in person but the Starcraft has a bigger bump out, looks to have more outside storage, and weighs 1000lbs more then the Jayco. Going strictly by the floor plan, if you have enough TV, I like the floor plan of the Starcraft, you don't have to climb over the dinette to get to the bed.
Can't say about the quality of the Starcrafts since I bought mine, they've been through a couple moves since the recession started, you'd really have to go look them over and check out the quality of the 2.

RE: Need Mattress measurements 2003 Star Craft 21rb

An option is to look for 4" foam elsewhere and just buy the cover from them. An upholstery supply shop or maybe just an upholsterer should be able to provide it, shipping for something this size can be substantial. Where I get it they cut it to size for nothing and there is no shipping. Maybe get prices from both and take it from there.

See if this one looks the same 2006 Starcrafts
Don't seem to be able to go back any further then the 06's. Watch the model names, the ones in these plans have smaller beds then the Travelstars or Antiquas, my 06 Travelstar has them at 57x76. They are hinged at the 1/3rd point

RE: Starcraft AR-One...no bathroom sink?

The Starcraft HTT line that built Travel Stars and it's sister the Antiquas shutdown during the recession. Jayco, the owner, started building them at the Jayco plant. Soon after Jayco came out with the AR-One which a very basic model, and the middle of the line Launch, and kept the Travel Star, the Antiqua was dropped.
Last I heard Jayco reopened the Starcraft plant and has started building some TT's there.
