RE: Bigfoot stereo?

Thundercloud you were bang on! Got out in the camper for a little bit this afternoon and figured out how to pull up the bottom of the closet and what did I find? The antenna wire and stereo wires all nicely tied up and a framed area for a stereo. I also went to walmart and bought a $48 microwave and put it in the cupboard above the stove where the microwave plug was also prewired. I think I'm going to try drawer liner (like tool box) under it to keep it in place while driving down the road. Thanks again to everyone for there help so far.
You should strap the microwave down to the cabinet. Shelf liner will never hold it as the camper rocks side to side on a rough road.

RE: Lowest gas prices you remember.

I remember 19.9 per gallon in Atlanta area in the early 1970s.

RE: New (old) Bigfoot, now some questions?

I've had good luck removing the sealer around the roof penetrations on my Bigfoot with the careful use of a heat gun. It softens up and lifts off easily. You could, of course, have a different type of sealant on yours, but it's worth a try.

RE: Re: Tow Jeep

I flat tow my Jeep. I have a tow brake and use a Stowmaster tow bar with a long extension due to the camper overhang. It tows very well. Make sure your Jeep can be set up for flar towing. A friend found out his newer Jeep could not be flat towed. Not sure why.

RE: Leveling on Truck?

I level with blocks. Just as quick and nothing to undo and redo.

RE: Best gauges for Bigfoot?

If you are thinking about replacing the sensors in the tanks, make sure you know what's involved in getting to the tanks. It can be a real advenure to get to all the sensor locations.

RE: Electrical question...

Leave the frig off when traveling. Turn it on when you stop for lunch and when you get to your destination. It will hold its cold for a long time unless you are driving through Arizona in summer.

RE: Hot Water Tank Plug

All I can add is the person who designed this water heater and plug is a MORON.
I have a few other things that guy designed.

RE: New TV for truck camper

I bought one of these earlier this year:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/827597-REG/RCA_DECK15DR_DECK15DR_15_6_LED_TV.html
It has a built in DVD player and works on 12V as well as AC.
I think RCA has a smaller size also.

RE: Electric blankets (12v)/Power Packs

I'll chime in on the down comforter. Very, very low battery use! Get a king size so you don't have drafty openings around the edges.

RE: Bathroom Crank Up Vent Cover Replacement

I've replaced mine twice in seven years. I think the UV cooks them. I don't know of a brand that will hold up any better, but putting an all-weather cover over it might help. I have all-weather covers on two other vents and I've never had to replace them.

RE: Sealing roof vents and other roof seams??

A heat gun will help remove the old sealant. Of course, you have to be careful not to burn something, but it makes the chore much easier.

RE: Bigfoot propane problem

I have the same camper. I've replaced the regulator twice and now carry a spare just in case. They are not that expensive and see prone to failure.

RE: Short bed Truck camper with bathroom/shower..exist?

My Bigfoot has a bathroom with shower. It's a "wet bath" and it's tight, but it works (unless you're obese, but then a truck camper is probably not the ideal RV.

RE: Replacing Drawer Slides

Are you sure the problem is the drawer slides? In my Bigfoot, the drawers are held closed with a plastic latch underneath the drawers.
