RE: Stuck black tank gate valve

yes
Are you saying that you can pull and push the handle but it is not opening and closing the tank valve?

Stuck black tank gate valve

I have a new Cedar Creek and I find myself unable to open the tank to DUMP. There is resistance when I pull the handle but nothing happens. I have done a hose from top and bottom as well as a snake from both directions to no avail. I am waiting for a repair service to come out but I wait. Forest River will of course cover this but until then. The strange thing is the tank reads 1/3 full. I know they typically don't work when they read FULL when it is empty.
Is there a way from underneath to pull what must be a stuck gate?

covering the shower skylight from below

My RV is unused during the summer.
I am thinking about placing a piece of soft foam in the skylight well with foil on the top to reduce the heat load during those hot months.
Can you think of any problems if I do this?

question on water pressure regulator

http://www.amazon.com/Valterra-A01-1113VP-Flow-Water-Regulator/dp/B002N5JCE0/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=28T6SDJHFU7H4&coliid=IAPJ6HB7NINPI
This item claims that it is adjustable to 55 psi with a screw driver.
My wife is quite unhappy at the 45 psi so I would like to provide the 55 but not to exceed 60.
The highest reading I have found on our city water is 58 but there is a possibility that this might spike so I am uneasy.
The manufacturer of my RV tells me that 58 is fine on my new RV but not to exceed 60.
Does anyone have experience with this adjustable regulator?

increasing water pressure at the shower head

My wife complains that the pressure makes it difficult to rinse her hair after washing. Someone in passing said remove the divert-er and you will increase the pressure without risk to the coaches plumbing.
Can you tell me what he means?

What is FULL TIMING?

For warranty purposes what is full timing? We spend a few winter months each year in our RV and I wondering if they call that full timing.

RE: Extended stay or Destination Trailers

Some mfgs call them destination - some call them extended stay AND maybe sometime ago they were called park trailers - I don't think they were park models.
I don't need a forum home for my specific product. Other than the home frig and apartment size propane stove they are the same sorts of questions.
I have pulled 5ers for several years from NE south. We never "camped" in New England because we live on the water. I didn't mind the pulling but I did sweat bullets when thinking about backing the trailer through the 10' opening in my stone wall.
Well I learnt something today - never heard the term "destination trailer" before. I think a "destination trailer" owner should be welcome here.
Also, IMHO hurricane straps are no protection against a tornado!

RE: Extended stay or Destination Trailers

I never called a destination trailer (or extended stay) a park model. This trailer has a rubber roof, 2 roof top air conditioners and a dometic awning. Other than the house frig I don't see how its any different than a travel trailer. They come from 35-40', have 2 gray tanks, a fresh water tank and a holding tank. They have considerably more inside storage and no outside storage. Pretty much the same as a long travel trailer. I think Lucy and Desi would be quite comfortable in this LONG TRAILER.
And if I did not say it before this DESTINATION TRAILER will be strapped down just like the 5th wheel that I have now. The strapping is removeable and we have it because it is required during hurricane season.

RE: Extended stay or Destination Trailers

My insurance company and the state consider it an RV. That satisfies me. We will have holding tanks, an RV toilet, it is registered as an RV and it moves down the road. It will not have a combo frig and will have an apartment size gas stove. It will be tied down just as my FW is now. The insurance company requires it be moveable and registered for the road.

RE: Removing the decals on a new RV

I don't hate the decals but they will start peeling in a year and I can see what a problem they are when you want them off in 5 years. And I wouldn't be removing all of them. I would leave those that I would feel comfortable replacing in 5 years.

Removing the decals on a new RV

We are going to be ordered a new trailer and when I asked if I could have the mfg. not put on the decals the conversation got dicey. So I am thinking about taking most of them off as soon as I get the rig.
Where we stay the sun destroys the decals in time so I thought that it would make more sense to remove those that I don't want when it is new.
Any experience with this?

RE: AWNINGPRO-TECH

Nice ideal. But I like the one on ours Heartland. It covers it when you roll the awning in. Always on and always working when the awning is not in use.

This is great but not an after-market item? Who makes your awning with cover?

Has anyone used this product and if so can I send my awning in and out with it installed. I have an electric awning.

RE: long term storage question / tires on the concrete pad

My insurance situation changes if I am not registered and moveable. Currently I am insured just like the RV was parked in my yard. No hurricane insurance needed.

long term storage question / tires on the concrete pad

We will be placing our new destination trailer on a concrete pad in Texas where it will continue to be registered but may never move. In the past I have parked our trailers on PT planks.
The trailer will be raised to leave just a portion of the weight on the tires. The trailer has 6 stabilizers and must be tied down during the hurricane season.
I am wondering if I should park the tires on something that does not pass the moisture to the tires. rubber-plastic-whatever.
What information is out there?

Recent online articles on ONLINE security

Have stated that log in names and passwords from one site to another should not be the same. They have said that a login should not include your name and the passwords should have numbers, symbols and letters AND that they should be changed every 60-90 days. I can change everything but the log in name. Well that is a serious reason. If that is not doable here what does one do?
