RE: Glacier campground recommendations for RVs

How about staying a few days on the west side, then moving to the east? The road is good going around the park to the south, and is scenic in itself. Stop to see the goat lick on the southwest side (plenty of parking). Stop at the Glacier Park Lodge in East Glacier to check out the lobby.
Allow more time on the east side since there is more to see, as previously stated. To give Glacier justice, you need way more than just an afternoon on either side.
Have a great time!

RE: dallas area camping

Assuming you will be coming from the north on 35E, take the exit just past the Swisher Rd exit. From the access road, watch for the Rave Theatre and the Texas Land and Cattle Restaurant on the right. Turn to the right onto Turbeville just past the restaurant. At the stop sign, turn left on Point Vista. Drive 1/2 to 3/4 mile and watch for the entrance to the park on the right. It shows up in a hurry after you pass a stand of trees on the right.
It's a very nice park. Happy camping!

RE: CG on I-10 West of Lafayette, LA and East of Lake Charles

We like Frog City RV Park in Duson, 10 miles west of Lafayette. Easy on, easy off. Lots of pull-throughs and decent wifi. Passport America, also.

RE: Grand Canyon North Rim

The OP asked about road conditions. The paved road to the North Rim is excellent. Road closures would be unlikely in June.

RE: Mueller State Park Colorado Pictures ?

We are probably a little too big for the park, but we got in and out with no problem. Beautiful park. Here's my whole album of pictures there:

I'm sorry, I can't remember the site number. On edit: I believe the site # was 114.

RE: Henderson Beach SP Florida

The main differences between Topsail and Henderson Beach are:
no sewer at HB
campsites are around $16/night less at HB
much more access to shopping and restaurants at HB
Since the showers are very nice at HB, why pay the extra bucks?

RE: Grand Staircase-Escalante/Capitol Reef NP

We stayed at the Red Canyon in early April of '04. Stayed there a week, and decided to stay another three days. The facilities were perfect for our needs. The man who was running the place then wouldn't take our money, because it was so early in the season that he needed RV's in the park to let people know that the park was open! There is so much to see there... we were out everyday except for the day it snowed! I would much rather it be cold than hot. You can wear heavy clothes if it's chilly, but if it's hot, it doesn't matter how little you wear, it's hot!

RE: Pohick Regional Park , Lorton Va

We stayed there for almost a week while touring DC. The sites were big enough for our 38' motorhome. No problem with low tree branches. My most vivid memory was that the sites are so heavily wooded that it seemed always dark. We liked the location, though.
