RE: Pinched Nerves?

9/28, my dog's cable took me down on my back on the driveway - pinched nerve in the back/leg. Pain pills Perc 10/325's allowed me to function, and I had a few exercises to do on the bed - stretching the muscle pinching the nerve (yes, had MRI's, etc), and the nerve is 90% okay now...still get the nightly electric shocks off the top of foot or toes. Was to have had epidural procedure, but steroids re not an option at present. Best wishes.

RE: Ways to feel more secure while sleeping out on the road

what's to worry about? greater chance of getting hit by car. close your door, turn off the light and go to bed.

RE: furnace blowing cold air in 1996 coleman cheyenne PUP!

your battery has to operate the furnace fan at a speed high enough to open the sail switch, which allows ignition. at which time, the furnace will burn till thermostst temp is reached, then burner turns off, but fan continues to run for a few minutes, then it shuts off. mak sure your battery is fully charged.

RE: 100 lbs lp bottle

One camp ground I stayed at in late October one year asked if I'd be there in November as their propane company delivered 100 lb tanks for the winter months and they needed to advise site number. The propane company did complete install/test.

RE: Where is my poo?

Have you tried flushing a bag or two of ice cubes and a gallon or two of water, and towing your trailer around to swish the tank clean - loosens tp, etc.? Might be a cheaper fix.

RE: What's Frugal and what's cheap?

Depending upon the length of the trip, I will (budget and eat) one breakfast out, and one dinner out - it's my treat to myself. But, more often I eat in, and feel good that I've still got the money in the wallet.

RE: LIFE ON HOLD

I found I was weaker/sicker during/after treatment than before, and that put my camping on hold (which made me depressed and/or angry). I still have issues, but, I plan to keep camping in the front and schedule treatment around it - gotta have something to look forward to. Hang tough if possible.

RE: Groceries

I use Allrecipes.com and other recipe programs to scale down recipes to '2 servings', thus no leftovers or storage issues. On the road, I use canned veggies and rinse rather than take up fridge space. I usually hit a grocery every 4 days when camping, but have gone longer by using powdered milk. My crew is not in love with left-overs, but if I've got them, they get eaten for a lunch the following day. I repackage things like sausage patties, sometimes into daily servings, and roll out ground beef in a ziplock so it lays flat in fridge/freezer. While not as cost effective, I buy smaller packages when camping than when at home.

RE: Diabetic Help

Although I use the program and love it, I still keep written records - take them with me to other doctors. Stress plays a part in elevated numbers, as does illness, some meds, diet/exercise or lack thereof. Steroids are my issue and reason I'm a diabetic. Wish I could get off them, but they are the only RA treatment I can tolerate at this time. I had stress elevations, (due to money issues) and remembered to 'take action' doing almost anything is better than dwelling/brooding over the issue you cannot immediately solve. I do crossword puzzles, am starting to get back into some sewing, copying recipes, and I leave the TV set OFF. My old horse doctor told me years ago to turn off the television as the doom and gloom predictors have no good news and what they tell you of events you rarely have any control of. I dislike hearing about murders and it upsets me. Bsinmich, I like your tale. My weight loss has me back into clothes I bought in the early 80's which has helped overcome the depression of the RA, diabetes, cancer, etc.

RE: Hell froze over, and I'm there with my trailer

I too enjoyed your adventure ... makes me appreciate my battery charger, camper furnace (which I see no need to turn off at night), heated mattress pads much more than before read your post.

RE: beaches at Sarasota, Florida

I agree on Turtle Beach - used to be much quieter than Siesta. haven't been down in several years.

RE: Seasonal depression

A doctor recommended turning off the television - commercials make one seem like a loser if they don't purchase 'whatever' as a gift for x-mas, and watchers fall for it.
