RE: Sioux Falls, SD to San Antonio, TX

We are from Worthingotn, Mn only 60 miles east of you. We have driven this route a few times but we leave a bit earlier in the day.
Our first night stop is in Beeville, Ks. at the city park, it's a bit far 431 miles for us.
Second night is at Lake Murray State Park, Ardmore, Ok., distance 412 miles from Beeville.
Third night is at McKinney Falls State Park, Austin, Tx., distance 294 miles.
Fourth day is a fairly short jaunt to San Antonio.
We have also taken 281, it is to the west of Fort Worth, it is a good road. There is a State Park near the Jct of 81 & 281, don't recall the name but we have stayed there a couple of times.
Have a good time.

RE: Champion 3500/4000 will not start

This falls into the category "don't try this at home". You could take a small straw, dip it into gas and put your finger over the end, then with the sparkplug out deposit the gas into the cylinder, replace the spark plug and give it a try. If it runs momentarily you know you have a gas problem. Don't use starter fluid, it's too powerful for a small engine and may blow the head or gasket.
Good luck.
Paul....
ps: I have done this over the years on lawnmowers and never had a problem.

RE: Anyone Else Hate LCD TVs?

I have 3 LCD TV's, two in the house and one in the camper, they are all Sanyo brand. The ones in the house are 37" and 22" the one in the camper is a 32". The one in the camper while running the TV antenna comes in with a better picture than the two in the house on cable tv. I figured this just doesn't sound right. Last month while at the cable tv store paying my bill, I questioned them about why I would be getting a better picture on antenna vs the cable and found out something that I find hard to believe. I was told the the cable company receives the tv signal in digital and then converts it to analog so their customers don't have to get converter boxes. What the heck, the government wants everything digital, which happened but we are still stuck with old technology. I was told I could get some digital channels but I would have to rent their digital box even though I have a digital HD tv. Something here is not right.

RE: Freezer Defrost

Defrosting the freezer isn't all that bad, here is how we do it. Take your freezer items and put them in the fridge, turn off the whole unit and open up the freezer door. It doesn't take long for the freezer to defrost.
To defrost the fridge, we leave the door shut and just turn it off for 2-3 hours or just enough time for the fins to clear of ice. We don't take anything out of the fridge while doing this.
Don't use a hair drier or the like as you can easily melt the plastic.

Do you ever

Do you ever clean your 7 pin connector, if so what do you clean it with or how do you clean it. Mine seems quite dirty, it has what I assume is the electrical grease on it but is looking pretty dirty. I am thinking this may cut down on the power supplied to the brakes.
Give me your thoughts.
Thanks.

RE: wingman antenna

I installed one and didn't find any increase in signal strength, but I did notice that it didn't pixellate (sp) on the weaker channels. Haven't had it long enough to give any more info.

RE: Please help--Winnebago roof a/c drip-drip-drip!!!

It may be that the gasket is loose, have you ever tightened it? From the inside of the RV, take off the bottom vent and you should see 4 bolts with nuts on the ends. These need to be gently tightened to compress the gasket. Do not over tighten, you just need them snug.
Hope this helps.

RE: Lp gas detector won't stop going off

Ours was going off last year, it seemed to do so only at night. Batteries and everything tested all right, no furnace on, propane turned off.
I ordered a new detector and when I went to install it, as soon as I touched one of the wires on the detector, it fell off, the clip stayed on the detector but the wire broke.
On looking closer, it appeared when they clamped the clip onto the wire, the cut all but about 2 strands of the wire. I think this caused a volt/amp problem.
I replace the clip and now all is fine. I now have a spare.

RE: vinyl flooring replacement to glue or not to glue?

Regarding the Allure, how do you fit the pieces together without having any gaps? Years and years ago I tried some of those self stick square tiles and wasn't very impressed because of the gaping.
I haven't seen this product up close but would like to put it in my 5th wheel.

If you glue it, how will you ever get it up if you want or have to replace it again. If I was going to glue it, I would put in a sub floor first.

LCD TV while traveling

We just replaced our old CRT TV with a 26" LCD TV and am wondering if any of you fasten yours down in any fashion while traveling and if so, how do you fasten it. We have a 5th Wheel.
Our old TV was so heavy it never moved but I'm not so sure about the LCD.
Thanks.

RE: Need More Advice on Roof/Vent Sealing

gmelton2:
I would think one tube of Dicor should be more than enough. When applying the Dicor or any other sealant, I usually use painters tape to outline the area to be caulked, remove immediately after caulking, it makes a nice straight line.
The puddy tape you are talking about I believe is called Butyl tape, the RV parts will tell you for sure.

RE: Need More Advice on Roof/Vent Sealing

Diplomat Don, just wondering why you don't feel eternabond is right for this application.
I have been going back and forth on which way to seal around my various vents on the rubber roof, I like the idea of eternabond but I'm leaning towards Dicor lap sealant.

Bluetooth mouse/mice

I have a dell laptop which has a bluetooth mouse, the bluetooth is built into the computer. I bought a bluetooth receiver and am now using the dell mouse on my HP Desktop.
I tried switching the dell mouse back to the dell laptop but it wouldn't connect. I suspect if was still being controlled by the desktop.
I like the features of the dell mouse and would like to get another one so I have one for each computer.
Question is, does each bluetooth device have its own frequency or ID so they will not conflict with one another.
Or do I need to get a different brand of bluetooth mouse.
Help.....
Thanks.
