Well, I guess many of you may wonder what happened with us in getting home. We made it back by Tuesday afternoon after leaving about $2100 with Cordele Ford. HOWEVER, when I rolled into the yard in Locust Grove and checked under the hood, more coolant had blown out of the degas bottle. Soooo, I went to Riverside Ford in Macon and got very bad news that the heads were now leaking. They wanted about $4 grand to restore it to factory specs and only give a 1 year warranty. The heads would most likely be leaking again in another 80000 miles. I had found a place in Buford, GA, who "dealerproofs" these 6.0 diesels so you never have these head or egr cooler probelms again but the cost is ~$6 grand but you get a lot of nice upgrades and the engine is much stronger and comes with a 2 year warranty. I should then be good to go on the next 2 trips (April to Gulf Shores and May to Moccasin Creek) and not have these problems. So, if you see Mary and I on the side of the road with hood up on the diesel, please stop to help or stop to contribute to the repair fund. Please don't just ride by laughing yourself senseless because I chose a Ford!!!!

okay, it will be Friday before I get there as I have a meeting this afternoon, so no sneaking out early. I should be there before noon on Friday..
I will bring buns for Saturday night.. can somebody tell me how many we will need??.. I will do something for Sat morning but not sure what yet.. likely what strikes me when I go to store this evening.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday. As far as the bread for Saturday night goes, we already have that purchased. Maybe consider a bag or 2 of chips or maybe something sweet for dessert.

Hello all... looks like the stars are aligning for me to make this trip. I am hoping to get out of work early enough on Thursday that I can get there by dark. If not, I will be there Friday morning
Glad to see you can make the trip. We will be trying to get in the area of sites 10-20 along the lake so, if necessary, we would be in the area of the activity shelter. However, it looks like the weather will be cooperating this year, according to the forecast for this weekend and we can do all activities at the campsites.

Kitt and I made our reservations for March 7-10. I'll try to get my daughter to make us some of her extra-yummy cupcakes for Saturday ight.
Perhaps I can bring fruit for Saturday morning. Let me think about Friday night...Oh, I know! Little tuna sandwiches.
ETA: I forgot to ask: Do y'all have an Carolina BBQ sauce? The vinegar based kind. If not, I have about a quart of it here. I will be most happy to bring that.:p My Outer Banks roots are showing...

We finalized a two week vacation starting out in NC and ending in FL. We will be there Fri. through Sunday. As most of you are aware, our frig is limiting us as to what we can bring for Sat. Night dinner. Suggestion of pickles sounds good to us, because we would not need to refrigerate those. What type of pickles does everyone like? Sweet and Bread N Butter are good. Any other suggestions? Also, is anyone going to arrive at the campground early? Not sure yet how early we can get there, but put us down as attendees and we will make our reservations soon!
Another good choice for pickles would be dill strips, either regular or kosher. We also need chips as well. Glad to see you and Paul joining us for this rally!
