RE: can the plastic valves be fixed or replaced? arghhhhhhhh

Could be an kitchen sink faucet or a bathroom faucet. If the pliers have not destroyed the faucet stem, should be able to find a replacement knob. But you won't know until you pick it up. even if you have to replace the whole faucet shouldn't cost that much at home depot or lowes. Should not be a deal breaker in my opinion.
Even if the stem is wrecked, the stem and valve assembly may be replaceable. A good full service hardware will match the valve assy.
If the faucet is plastic,, it will be cheaper to replace the entire fixture.

RE: Camping in this economy

I can go 20 miles and be in a wilderness, but I prefer public sites where I can meet the locals and bicycle riders. I am a loner, but do not need to BE alone.
My favorite day trip site is fishing access on a dam, with university student housing nearby. Lots of friendly foot traffic and fast food delivery available.
Driving it 2-3 days a week does not cost more than parking it and making insurance payments. The expense is paying to park 5 feet from other rigs full of loud drunks and kids. I do not do that.

RE: Window AC project

If you start with a Portable Air Coditioer You can dispense with the cutting/ fitting/ fabricating.
Exhaust is through a small hose and the water can also drain through very small hose.

RE: Workhorse 8.1L and Two Years with a Dead Chassis Battery.

That is a long time to sit.
Make sure there are no critter nests to ignite when things get hot.
Your rubber may be rotten. Belts, hoses, tires.
You are probably past due for an oil change.

RE: Channel Cats in Washington State?

The first rule is to fish cat water.
At this time of year, I fish flatheads below dams. The cats move upriver to spawn and to feed on carp eggs. I use beef hot dogs for bait cut into rings. I use a heavy #8 gamikatsu heavy bait hook and 20# spiderwire braid.
For channel cats, I fish where the river runs into a lake. The channel cats run upriver to feed at dusk (just as the shadow from river trees cover the river) I use the same bait mentioned above, or fresh cut bait placed on the side slope of the deeper channel. They WILL move up into the shallower flat when feeding. They seem to move together in a wave, and I can move upriver to meet them again when action slows. The move back downriver is not as heavy, as the fish seem to move back in smaller groups just before dawn.

RE: Spontaneous Window Shatter?

I had a passenger vent window explode once. It was -10 outside and my heater was cranking out the heat. I figure the temp difference caused it to blow.

RE: 2004 Dynasty.. Shower Does Not Work. Please HELP !

Maybe blocked with calcium crust. Unscrew the hose or head and see if you get flow. Often they get blocked at the aerator screen or small holes on the shower. Soak in vinegar or CLR from hardware. Throw away the screens.
If a continuing problem, fill and flush lines with vinegar yearly

RE: Sprint mobile broadband?

Virginmobile Broadband2Go uses the Sprint system, but there is no contract.
You buy the usb dongle and pay by the month, with no penalty or fee for months of non-use. Your account will hold payment for several months of use, and does not automatically apply the next payment period. You just go online and begin the next usage period when you need it. You can apply funds from your account, or pay with CC (which DOES begin a new months service) Payments may be made in cash in almost any cell phone store.
Besides the dongle, there is a hotspot available, or you merely plug the dongle into another machine.

RE: automatic vs manual transmission

I would prefer the auto. Check the towing specs, I suspect that ratings for the auto are higher. Upkeep is less for the auto, as replacing the clutch is neither simple nor inexpensive.

RE: RV spots

It may be a bother if traffic is high during the night.
I grew up near the tracks, but only about two trains per day in each direction. Tracks cut down on neighbors and often is more rural than other areas in town. Makes great shortcuts to school. RR right of way and power company right of way are great hunting and fishing areas.
My best boondock and fishing spot has an Amtrack line across the river.
Nice to watch the fast trains shoot by.

RE: A major pickup camper rebuild, where to put a toilet

How about a cassette toilet on a slideout beneath the sink? Slides out into the aisle. Maybe a hinged curtain that goes across the aisle when in use and hides the unit when beneath the sink.

RE: Exercising the genny in the winter

Let's face it, the only reason that it is recommended to exercise the genny in the winter is so we can sit in the motor home and pretend we actually using it.
Running the genset oils the moving parts (no oil>no compression> no start), moves fresher gas into the lines, drives moisture from the crankcase and polishes the contacts. Probably recommended by your manufacturer.

RE: Advice Needed

There are businesses that specialise in fuel removal. The same folks who empty the tanks when the driver fills with the wrong fuel type. Check yellow pages or ask at a full service station for references.
I would also have a Workhorse tech start the rig up and change all the fluids and filters. He may have a series of jobs to do before starting. The rings may be dry, for instance.
I expect the batteries may all need replacing, perhaps the safety alarms, too. (fire and co2) The tvs may be out of date or need replacement with flat panels.
Tires that old are unsafe, even if they look pristeen. Do not forget to replace the spare.

RE: Do you carry flares

Flares are one of the most important safety items you will ever use. I have used them many times to mark accidents and road hazards Fallen trees and rocks, accidents, stalled cars. I was even able to alert a cop a mile away once--- he was on a crossroad across a flat field when some gal somehow rolled/ flipped her car on a deserted 5lane at 3am. Cop was there in minutes.
Also work for emergency fire-starting with watersoaked wood.

RE: Slide out scratching wood floor

I would not mess with the hardware. It may make the outside move out of alignment with the exterior wall. What is making contact with the floor? Is it wood or metal? Ask your hardware store manager for some furniture "buttons" or caps--- plastic devices for chair and table legs designed to protect floors. Some are adhesive backed, some take screws. There are even large discs, about 4-5 inches across designed for moving heavy furniture.

RE: How do you remove chair to the right of the entry way in a

How do i remove the chair to the right in the entryway of a 2007 forest river Georgetown SE without removing the bolts that go thu the frame? Thanks for your help.
It us unnlikely that those bolts are holding anything except the chair in place.
Sometimes the easy way is the proper method. Unbolt the chair. If you WANT bolts sticking up in your new free space, you can put them back.
