RE: Quality control issues-curiosity

Toured the NU Wa plant in Chanute ,Ks in 2013. Bought the top of the line "Champayne" model. Liked the tour but the fiver was less than perfect. Both motors on the bed room slide, motor on the awning, and the thermostat on the AC/Furnace all within 6'mos. Then thee was the issue of the leveling jacks. Could not read the monitor / control panel (LED) unles it was dark.had to take back to Chanute for all warranty repairs. Have the Winnebago now ( see. Sig.) not perfect by no means. Have 30,000 Mi on it. 10,000 this year. Last trip had on problems.didn't even get the gorilla glue or the drill out . 4000 Mi. To DC AND BACK. Course does a rock in the front windshield count. Ins. Replaced . Nothing out of my pocket. Done. Hate to say any thing , wait till next trip??? Learning curve!!!

RE: electric for a electric heater

We use two dual stage oscillating tower heaters. 750/1500 watt electric heaters, plus the fireplace. The propane gas furnacess are loud and costly to run They keep the 40' MH quite comfortable. No extra cost for us, as electric is included in the price.

RE: Why would anyone want an outside TV?

We fulltime ,no sticks and bricks. On our fourth RV. PUT A OUT SIDE TV in two. One came in the other two. Won't be with out one. Nothing better than a campfire, Bloodymary, beer and a football game. Have a exersize routine, like watching the morning news while doing my routine. And sometimes 350 sq. ft gets a little crowded.

RE: Aerospace 303 Protectant

Where do you buy it? We order on line from camping world!! Use it on all the slide seals. Just don't use it where you walk or step. It is slippery.

RE: Drinking glass holders?

We bought some bubble wrap. Put in the front of the cabinets while traveling. Takes up the space, so they don't slide around. Use some of the finer bubble wrap to wrap some of the glasses we only use occasionally.

RE: Leveling Jacks Do's and Don'ts

Your 2x12's will probably crack about the first time you use them. Two under each jack, if they are placed so that the wood grain of the two run opposite directions, will help prevent breaking them. I put plywood on both sides of mine and used gorilla glue and screws to prevent cracking them. Heavy but durable. X2. Have had my laminated 2x12's for at least. Three years. Work well. Also have some 1/2" plywood laminated also ,

RE: Winegard Traveler Satellite VS ..installation.....

Not sure where you are ,but I know a dealer in S. Ft. Worth,Tx that can do it in about four hours. They took my king dome off and replaced it with a traveller. They were a fleet wood dealer at the time. I had a 2007 NEWMAR FRED at the time worked great. That is why I have one on my 13 Winmie, Journey 40U. Won't leave home with out it.!!M

RE: Gas station help!

When the gas gauge reads 1/2 tank its time to start looking for that gas station that has easy access. When on the interstate avoid stations in town and hit the stations before or after the main part of town as there is less traffic. Before you even pull into a station plan your exit and if the quarters are tight move on to the next station. Once you gas up a couple dozen times it becomes second nature. I don't worry about gas prices when I tow so much as I worry about getting in or out of the place so I'm willing to pay a few cents more for gas if a station has more room or a better angle on the pump islands. X2 . When we had the fiver and one ton half a tank and we were Looking for fuel. Same with the MH.

RE: Carry out statellite TV

If you are not going to the traveler on the roof I would go,for the "Tailgater"! You don't have to use a sepRate power source.

RE: Green Bay Packers

At least do the "Lambeau" tour. Well worth the time. As far as tickets, like wings fan says people have been on a waiting list for years for tickets. IMHO , if you don't know some one or have deep pockets. Good luck.

Easy Peasey. Put pork butt in corcopot in the eve.slicedonionon top salt and pepper. Garlic if wanted. On low over night. Next morn de bone and take out fat. Remove what juice you want. Back in crock pot add bottle of BBQ sauce of your choice. On low for the rest of the day. Walla, best pulled pork ever. DW has been doing this for years.

RE: Winnebago basement air

From what I under stand ,when the EPA made diesels add the DEF. This took the space of the basement air. From what I know Winnebago was the only one that had basement air. Unless the high dollar ones did. One thing I do know is , the roof air is noise. Have been up on the roof of my 13 Winnebago 40U many times. Replaced the exhaust blades twice. The c & d model blades quieted the out side noise but the inside ,not so much.
