RE: Need new DP

Winnebago ha a 40' without a tag. Measures 41'4"!Journey 40U for 13 & 14 not sure what the mod is for 15! Am hearing Tiffin is having QC ISSUES , but they are all having them. Any diesel after 2010 has to have DEF. TO MY KNOWLEDGE. Our 40U has more storage than The 42-43', 380 cummins has good power. Improving all the time. Am at 17,000 mi. Right now.

RE: winegaurd travlr

What are you wanting to mount it on? On my second "Taveler", would not go back to the "carry out"! Or the cube! On fivers, for some reason the mfg does not like to mount them on the front! That is where they belong! Most spaces are not as over grown on the front of a backin. We just as for open to the S.W. So we can get the sat? JIMO!!!!!

RE: Flat-spotted Dinghy Tires.

I'm currently on a trip in the SW (St George, UT) and towing a 2014 Honda CR-V. My Road-Master Even-Brake system locked up the wheels on the CR-V and squared off the tires trying to stop the MH. It continued with the CR-V brakes engaged even after I had released the MH brakes? Lots of smoke from the CR-V tires and a real jerk to the MH. I quickly got to the shoulder to determine what happened. I have no idea what went wrong? Everything seemed OK with the configuration of the set-up, and it returned a positive System OK when I re-tested the system. I removed the braking system and have been traveling without it. I would be more concerned if I did not have an Allison transmission with a grade brake, but after several 6-7,000 foot high passes, and a few 10,000 passes ahead I would like to have the system perform well. Today I will find a large gravel lot to test the system (without squaring the tires again) to see if I can get it to work again? Yup, happened to me twice,. With the "Brake Buddy"! Learning curve. Have the "Ready brake " now . In driving the CR-V now, it seems that the tires indeed do have flat spots as noticed by the vibrations while driving. Can tires be shaved or trued to correct this. This used to be done by tire dealers for extra $$$, but it seems that it is only done for race car tires now? The Bridgestone tires only have 1,800 miles on them. Am I damaging the CR-V by towing or diving it? I've read that re-balancing the tires can help, but that seems unlikely to me? Any thoughts?

RE: Bad experience at dealer.

My wife and I went to place a down payment on a TT today.. The price on the trailer was $9999, we wanted to add, WD hitch and brake controller, rv cover, and full screen room for the awning. Want to take a guess how much the total price quoted was after transport, dealer fees, etc... $15,200!!!!! $2600 of it was dealer prep and transport and there was another $300 doc fee on top of that !!! A lot of back and forth with what I thought was not a great manager and we but it down to $13500 OTD, still a good $1500-$2000 higher then we planed for..so we walked.. I just felt like they were taking advantage of me, they keep saying how they are not making any money on this deal, and that the $9999 was a loss leader and msrp was really $15,695. They even showed me the invoice, but I know that in the car biz (which I was in for 15 years) that at I voice there was still a good deal of money to make on the car (holdback, advertising, dealer cash etc).. BTW invoice was $11,000 something. I don't know but I just felt I was being lied to.. Do you think the fees were excessive ?? I have never purchased an rv before was I wrong about the invoice ?? Good job. Glad you walked! Thanks

RE: Quick meal ideas for late night arrival?

Does it have to be a hot meal? Otherwise just take some deli items & cut-up veggies to make sandwiches, a chef's salad or a snack plate when you get there. Could you make rigatoni with pasta sauce at home, put in a large plastic bag and heat with a loaf of garlic bread? Or pre-cook baked potatoes in your oven and micro upon arrival, with sour cream, bacon crumbles and butter? How about a sliced ham, with a pre-cooked container of au gratin potatoes? Take pre-cooked bacon (cook it yourself at home, in the oven, rather than the tasteless cooked packaged stuff) or ham and whip up scrambled eggs upon arrival, with toast? I like the pasta Ina bag thing. I am a pasta lover!!!!
