RE: Coleman Fleetwood 12 volt system problem

"I checked the wires that come to the switch, and there is no voltage at that point."
Apparently there is! Glad you got it figured out.

RE: Coleman Fleetwood 12 volt system problem

You seem to have done a good job of pin-pointing the problem. Somewhere between the kill switch and the converter a connection is lost. If the wires are color coded, as in the link below, you should be able to look at the wires on the kill switch and check that that same wire is hot at the converter. If not, it is likely the fuse, or just a connection on the hot side of the fuse - I say this as the other 12v outputs from the converter seem to be working OK. (outside light, water pump, etc.)

RE: High Wall Popup

In response to the last 2 posts, I have also heard of "small" V8s having issues pulling these large popups. I would say it's mainly due to the amount of stuff that you can pack in them - considerably more storage space than the low wall versions.
I'm still wondering how there was no mention by the author of being at the tow limits in a Trailer Life issue about a Honda Ridgeline v6 pulling a Lance hardside trailer. That was at 6000-7000' elevation too.

RE: Need socket size for water heater drain

When you finish, use marker to write the socked size on inside of cover. Next year, you'll know what to grab
Ha! Since I bought that socket to use on the corrosion rod, and it fits nothing else, I marked the socket itself!
Tip from Tom: Give that corrosion rod new life by cleaning off the corrosion to expose the shiny metal underneath.

RE: Fresh water pump kicking on intermittently.

You may also want to tighten the connections on the lines between the pump and the water tank. If air is getting sucked in at one of these connections, it can bleed off on the pressue side of the pump without any sign of water leak and the pump will kick on again.
The line between the pump and water tank is not pressurized by city water (which is also why you can't fill the tank that way either) so a leak would not show up there. That line sees only vacuum.

RE: Outlets work....lights do not

The 12v supply goes to the light outside the door as well. If that light does not come on, there's a problem likely at the converter or fuse.
If that light does come on and the roof light does not, all is good with the 12v supply but the problem lies in the galley switch, wires to the roof, or wires to the switch (not likely)
The galley switch shuts off all 12v devices except that light outside the door (and I think the CO detector stays on too(and 12v to the fridge)) Are you sure the CO2 detector is not working?

RE: tent trailer 8 pin wiring?

Ditto on what Larson6 said. I attempted to wire up a Coleman just like the color codes of my Starcraft and it didn't work. Two differents color code systems. Unless someone pops up with a Bonair color code, your best bet is to pull our the brake light bulbs and test/map out each circuit.

RE: Replaced gasket

If you do need to repair the gasket, I tried several epoxys and adhesives and this one bonded and lasted the best.
Permatex Adhesive-sealant at WalMart
Rough the bonding surfaces as much as possible. I used 60 grit sandpaper.

RE: questions about 2001 coleman niagara elite belly

I had painted the inside of my bunk-ends due to how badly the Structurewood left splinters and chewed up the fabric side of the mattress when it was flipped over for the vinyl side up. That worked, but I also learned that others had laid (low profile)industrial carpet on the wood for the same effect.

RE: Coleman awning zipper broke on bag

The bag also tends to separate from the plastic bead that slips in the roof channel. The thread dis-integrates with age. You may want to have it re-sewn as well while you're at it. One problem I ran into was finding an upholster that had clearance around their machine to handle a 12' awning. I ended up at a boat upholstery shop
