RE: CPR First Responder Instructor

Not to be contrary, (and because I really don't know the facts:)), but doesn't your hubby have to be associated with the RED CROSS or something, to issue valid cards to the folks who take his course? I was thinking that was a State thing, so he might have to get a certification from FL, though I'd guess that is really just a paperwork thing.
I'm just guessing that anyone taking the course, should be sure that they get a valid card.
His instructor's certification is from the American Heart Association (AHA) as was mine.
He can issue AHA cards to his graduating students.
As is mine....I can go anywhere and teach a class and 99% of my class teaching is on a volunteer basis!

I hate to say it but time and fresh air.....others may say coffee grinds, charcoal...but what you are experiencing is common for the "new trailer smell"....

RE: LED's Under Awning

Where are you tapping into the electric for the under step LED's? I love that look and if it is easy enough maybe I can get my DH to put it on his honeydo list!!! He has to approve to any add on's :)

Personally, I'd hate buying a trailer off a dealers lot. I'd wait the time for the newer RV from the factory!

RE: Portable Screen Rooms

Looking at your Coleman screen room, the thing I don't like is the a$$hole traps (ropes to ground).... although they it could make for a good laugh at times!
We have had an EZ up for 20 years now - I actually need to buy a new tarp (top) for it this year and it is still in great shape. Granted not as "easy" to put up compared to today's technology but it is still fairly easy!
Good luck in your search to finding what you want!

RE: Cougar 27RLS Bedroom TV?

We just bought a Cougar 27RLS. In the purchase we wanted them to add a bracket in the bedroom to attach a TV. They told us there is no backing for one so it would be $400+ to pull things apart and add structure to mount a tv.
Odd since there is an outlet and antenna jack there? Anyone have the same trailer and put a TV in the bedroom?
Then they also wanted $200 to add a 12v outlet there (about a foot from a 12v light...) so maybe they are just pricy on mods.
Not sure about Cougar but I have seen a sticker in many RV's showing where a bracket should go....if there a shelf where the "outlet/jack" is located? If so it has to be attached to something strong enough to hold a TV!!!!

RE: Husband wants to quit snowbirding :(

Hi Wanda (Nana here from Sunline Forum) anyway...I know you had an issue with the drive down (trailer too heavy for the vehicle or was it bikes on the front of the tow vehicle ) I remember something that you thought was unsafe and he did not have a problem with.....perhaps he did have a problem and he knows he now needs to make the trip home again....and may not be looking forward to that or making another journey at all with the"problem"....just a thought!

RE: Credit Card to use when traveling

At todays fuel prices 5% off amounts to getting around 15 cents to 25 cents off every gallon of RV fuel everywhere.
..
This is from PenFed website....
•5 points per dollar spent on gas purchases paid at the pump*
•3 points per dollar spent on supermarket purchases*
•1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases
I know its early morning - but how would that translate to a savings of 15 - 25 cents per gallon discount? Don't want to start a "war"...just trying to wrap my heat around what was said.
I figure $100.00 of fuel x 5 points = 50 points x 52 fills (once a week) = 2600 points x 2 years = 5200 points trade that in for a Visa card for $50.00
$100.00 of fuel /$4.00 per gallon (this is below our going rate as of 2/20/13) = 25 gallons x 52 fills = 1300 gallons x 2 years = 2600 gallons / $50.00 (gift card) = 2 cents per gallon savings.
Just remember they are not giving you 5% they are giving you 5 points per dollar...BIG difference!
Right now we use Exxon Mobile HOWEVER they only offer a 6 cent discont on a minimum 45 gallon (per month) to a max of 100 gallons (per month).....so I now have DH tracking his fuel purchases and we stop using that CC when he reaches 100 gallons for the month....
I’m not saying this is not a good deal – because anytime anyone wants to “give” me money it works for me….just trying to figure out a scenario given to us!
Yes I just based my calculations on fuel purchases, as I know that is our major expense while we camp!

RE: family camping, how do you do it?

Are you kidding me? When we left the tent scene, we camped in a van with one platform.....that DH built over the wheel wells.....went accross country twice with that van, the last trip was when the girls were 16 & 14...where there is a well there is a way!
