RE: Lakeside Park, St Peter, MO

We've stayed at Lakeside each of the last two Christmas weeks and another time or two as well. It's worked extremely well for us. It's situated between two levees, and the wind really comes whipping through at times. We'll stay there again.

RE: alternate route out of Branson Mo.

Take 76 west of Silver Dollar City until you get to Highway 13 in West Branson (maybe 3-4 miles). Take 13 north to 60, 60 east to 65, then 65 north to I-44. It's MUCH easier than 65 north out of Branson, and is an excellent highway, although 2 lane in parts. Even those parts are newly paved and have broad shoulders.

RE: Galveston

While in Galveston, stop by and visit The Bishop's Castle. Bishop Christopher E. Byrne, who lived there from 1918-1950, was my Grandfather's brother (my great uncle).

RE: Cities with Strange or Unique Names

If you want a name that's really peculiar, go to Peculiar, MO. There's also Tightwad, MO. Ninety-Six, SC has an interesting ring to it.

RE: Where are we?

Here's one that's nearby the last one... Where are we? http://christineboyce.com/roadtrip2011/7%20-%20Canyon%20Lands/LongCanyon2.jpg width=650 Between a rock and a hard place.

RE: Where are we?

Keeping it going, where is this CG? Yes one can be seen. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y128/Veebyes/Trailer%20Travels/IMG_1328.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y128/Veebyes/Trailer%20Travels/IMG_1324.jpg A view looking the other way to be helpful. I'm thinking Tom Sawyer in West Memphis, TN. Nope. Will drop another hint pic taken from same place tomorrow AM. Vicksburg, MS. The campground is across the river, the overlook is at the welcome center.

RE: If all is not lost...

All is not lost. I have one unmatched sock, so only half is lost.

RE: RIP TV

As Gallagher used to say about stupid programming on TV, "I tried turning up the brightness knob, but that didn't help."

RE: Forest River RV opinions

This is a very broad question....Some companies that fall under the Forest River umbrella are loosely coupled with this huge corporation. I really like my Prime Time. Prime Time, Coachmen and Palimino/Puma are loosely coupled. They are actually a FR company but cannot be found on their website. Some companies are great, some are good and then there are a few....... Padave, not quite correct. Go to the Forest River Website and look just below the slide show and the video. You'll find large links to the Coachmen, Dynamax, Palomino, Prime Time, and Shasta websites. These brands don't carry the Forest River name, but are still Forest River products.

RE: Coach-Net Roadside Assistance

To our surprise, Forest River, included one year free Coach-Net RV Technical & Roadside Assistance coverage for purchasing our Prime Time Tracer 2670 BHS. We were not told about this...a total pleasant surprise! This just keeps getting better!! Does anyone have any pros/cons with Coach-Net? Note to Moderator: I'm not sure if I have posted this in the proper forum. TravelTracer, if you become a member of FROG -- Forest River Owners' Group -- you'll soon be able to get a discount on your Coach-Net renewals as well. There are no dues or fees to be a member of FROG, just own an RV built by Forest River or any subsidiary. FROG just held its first International Rally with over 200 units at Goshen, IN two weeks ago. One of the unannounced highlights was that over 20 service techs were on hand to provide ANY service at NO CHARGE to owners -- warranty or not. There are still several rallies and trips coming up this year -- Tucson at the end of September, Las Vegas/Grand Canyon/Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in October, Charleston, SC in November. Go to FROG Website for more information.

RE: When I die the 1st question I am asking God is..

I've always liked the reply to this question given by the late St. Louis Cardinals broadcaster Jack Buck: "When I meet the Lord, the first thing I'm going to ask him is, 'Why have you been so good to me?'"

RE: where to camp in St.Louis Mo?

We've stayed at the Casino more times than I can count, especially for the 4th of July Fireworks, and have NEVER had a problem. Ask to be on the south side for roomier sites. The exit for the casino coming in from the east is a left-hand exit. After the exit, go until the street ends. Turn right, go under the interstate (it's MUCH higher than it looks) make a slight right and you're there. From St. Louis, cross the Eads Bridge (the one immediately north of the Arch). At the end of the bridge turn left, and you're also there.

RE: Camping near Washington, D.C.

At the end of March, FROG -- Forest River Owners' Group -- took 165 people in 76 RVs to the Cherry Blossom Festival and stayed at Cherry Hill. We could not have been more pleased. On the days that we didn't have tours set up, people drove just two exits over to the Metro station and went into the city with no problems.

RE: Any recommendations for James Island State Park?

James Island County Park is one of our favorites. Cindy and I have volunteered there for three or four months during the setup and operation of the Holiday Festival of Lights on three occasions. We're taking 25 members of FROG -- Forest River Owners' Group -- there starting the Sunday following Thanksgiving. Couldn't believe we scored that many sites from Sunday through Thrusday nights!
