RE: Fort Wilderness on 4/24 - 4/26

I went to Disney once, and that was enough for me. And that was 35 years ago. Too many people, too much standing in line, too expensive, too artificial. I just don't get it. I can go to London and visit world class museums with a large dose of class for less money! Wife and I have no problem with artificial fantasy. No need for class since our noses are down to earth. Cost is simply relative. 2.5-3.0 hours from driveway to campsite is a little bit quicker than tripping over the pond.

RE: Would this bother you?

Not your job to call the TT owner or leave a note, get in touch with manager immediately about all issues. You pay for your space and utility not for someone else to use or to have their power cord across your space.

Considering a 2008 Aspect 26A, any owner input

Thinking about downsizing and the 26A on Chevy looks like a floorplan we can live with. Just wondering if anyone out there has one or close to it and how it is working out for you as far as reliability. I'm sure a PW is above, but the price could be right for the 26A. Thanks

Removing Kwikee step motor....

Steps not working with power to motor... I removed the motor/actuator assembly from the steps so I could work on it upright instead of upside down. VERTIGO, so even removing the assembly got me ill. I did this years ago on another MH to replace the bad motor but don't remember if there were any precautions to be taken after removing the 3 bolts securing the motor and before separating it. Thank you.

RE: MY TURN

IF i came out of the roof vent I have some possible bad news for you. Go up and remove the vent cap (Wear gloves and follow haz-mat procedures) and clean it.. Then look down the pipe. In many RV's the actual vent pipe is not what you see on the roof,,There is a gap,and "Stuff" may have run down INSIDE THE WALLS of the RV.... Something to stink about. Why would there be a gap? Would that not permit fumes to enter into the rv?

RE: Took the B-17 bomber flight!

Wonderful experience for you!!!!!! My father's position was the belly turret gunner, but he never got to fly in oversea duty. The plane was flying over us a couple of weeks ago. IMO, each generation is the greatest of their time. Thanks to all past, current and future.

RE: Anyone here prepaid for a funeral?

WOW,a lot of good response and information. Thank you all very much. We are going to see a lawyer tomorrow and have our will revised, since 1987. I like the idea of an insurance policy. There is very, very little chance of us leaving this area. Our home is paid for,our daughter and son live close and our cemetery plots are in our town. While seeing your lawyer, I would suggest you inquire about setting up a Living Revocable Trust, if you haven't already done so.

RE: Disney Fort Wilderness vacation Discount

joe b.- very informative and thank you for the links. Sort of a "self imposed land usage restriction" in order to maintain "environmental integrity in the developed to undeveloped ratio" as explained to me a lonnggg time ago when I asked an individual in the WDW loop as to why there weren't more loops in FW. Figured he knew what he was talking about since it sounded Walt Disney like.

RE: Disney Fort Wilderness vacation Discount

Discounts at FW are pretty much a thing of the past. Building new loops???? highly unlikely due to land restrictions. There are plans for a Disney Vacation Club timeshare by the old River Country section utilizing the shore and into the water. Don't recall seeing any RV sites. Remember, the cheap prices are for smaller tent/pop-up site loops-1500 and 2000 with only water, electric and cable.

RE: I'm going to side with the birds today

Migrating robins are still down here getting drunk on the invasive Brazilian pepper tree berries. Smart birds, guess they would rather be drunk than freezing.

RE: Should people over 85 be allowed to drive ?

Start retesting at age 60. I am 65 this year and I would pay to be retested.
