RE: How did you handle spouse retiring?

Retirement and dealing with the nuances accompanying this new stage in life can be overwhelming or as simple as it is what it is. THIS was our wedding song and a daily reminder of what our life together has been for soon to be 41 years and will be. My wife allowed me to semi-retire 14 years ago and fully retire a year ago. My task for years has been to provide as much freedom for her as possible by taking care of all household jobs and I will continue to due so after her retirement. I don't foresee a being underfoot situation arising since we know each other's spaces, respect them and yield to them. Individuality and accepting it is paramount to a successful life together. Future travel plans are being made in hopes of making them come true, but one never knows. Good luck.

RE: Snowbird theme song!

OK song and glad there were no Speedo suits. 69°F and liquid sunshine falling right now, soooo much better than floating sunshine.

RE: This weather!!!

Sorry about the weather.... 1 mile swim on Friday, 84 mile bicycle ride on Saturday, 14 mile walk/jog Sunday morning then a nice boat ride, 25 miles biking today for food shopping-going to the bank-trip to Home Depot Guess we'll get the hurricanes later in the year. :( Still glad we moved to FL in '86.

RE: Do you believe in love at first sight ?

Do I believe in love at first sight? Yes. Did it happen that way for us? No. When we first met I was twice her age - OK, so I was 6!! (No "robbing the cradle" jokes, please :W) Our first date didn't happen until 21 years later, but to quote the late Jim Croce, " I looked around enough to know that you're the one I want to go through time with." Anniversary #29 coming up this year. First sight....possible Forever......possible For us.....not first sight but was first love and is forever. First sight age 6 in first grade. All through school and even in same classes. Signed each other's HS Year Book but so what. Four years later she stopped for gas at station I pumped gas and we talked old times. Next time in she asked if I wanted to go for a boat ride. That was the ride of my life. Little over a year later was wedding almost 41 years ago.

RE: $850,000 motorcycle

:Z An artist friend just purchased a custom Harley and is going to have it as a center piece in the living room on the second floor. Getting it in there should be an interesting show.

Tony Stewart did one in a commercial with Jensen Button a while back for a motor oil, I believe. It was just as good. This

Some good suggestions but having a corded model means a hole and that's why we have a wireless. Our sensor is in the propane compartment.

RE: Orlando Fl. camping

A Fort Wilderness stay requires only a one night deposit that is refundable as long as the cancellation is more than 5 days out from first day of the reservation. Premium sites are fairly nice.

RE: Merry Christmas-parking lot Jerks

The good thing about living in FL. and only 1.5 miles from a Super WM is that I can throw on the back pack, hop on my bicycle and shop at 0200 or whenever. The Publix is a 3+ mile bike ride away after 0700 and for small Home Depot stuff that's a 4 mile bike ride away.

RE: Sound of Music

To the investors the important question is, was the show successful and did it make money? To me? I watched it, and enjoyed it. But, I did not have any unrealistic expectations. But then, I'm a person who watches NASCAR races and fishing shows,.....NCIS, Crimminal Minds, and Castle,.... (Not Duck Dynasty). Definitely NO Duck Dynasty. BTW, ABC Sunday 7:00PM EST Sound of Music, the movie.

RE: Please Don't Hate Florida

Crossed the Ga./FL. border in '86 and NJ became back north not back home. Hated the heat back then and now tolerate it. Enjoyed the back north cold back then but yesterday I swam 1.5 miles and Tuesday I bicycled 101 miles. Not so easy to do back north. We'll stick around cause it ain't that bad.

RE: Massive accident caught on camera

The only thing that I would disagree with is turning on the flashers in diminished visibility conditions. Most frequent and latest advice is to not do that as other drivers tend to follow the purty lights, resulting in avoidable rear end collisions. In many locals, using emergency flashers are only to be used when vehicle is stopped. It is a shame that the use of the flashers now seems to mean, "follow me closer because I am a good driver and know what I am doing."

Enjoyable stories. :) 40 years married and I make her breakfast, her lunch and her dinner but she brings home the bacon, as in the $$$$$$$. I do all the food shopping. Turkey is in the oven right now.

RE: Television

TV is alarm clock and clicks off after falling asleep. Have no problem with L&O reruns, judge programs, news, weather, what-ever. Have RED on right now even though I've seen it a bazillion times. Guess I'm just a simple minded person easily entertained.
