RE: Oasis of the Seas - the largest cruise ship in the world !

Wife and I were waiting to disembark our ship after a Panama Canal cruise when the Oasis came into port. It looked pretty ugly out in the Atlantic while waiting for the 8:00AM arrival time into Port Everglades and as it past our bow it still looked ugly and really big.
Lots to do on her but too big for us.

RE: Conect the water hose ends or not? Which is Best?

The role-up hose is easy to drain and I have quick-couplings on the ends and the MH inlet connections so I do not have to screw the hose ends together. On my 50' hose I coil/drain and again use the quick-couplings to attach the ends.

RE: How big should my bottle jack be?

I bought a 20 ton because some day I will get a bigger MH. :)
And besides, it didn't cost that much more than a 12 ton.

RE: Class A spare tires

Another with a mounted 19.5 tire along with a 20 ton bottle nose jack and jack-stands plus the required socket, extensions and a warning notice with the hand tools stating.....
***WARNING-the enclosed tools are to be used only in case of emergency where the cell phone does not work***

RE: Thanks for the h2o hose caddy idea-I'm passing it on

Same thing happens with a 50' or 100' (even longer) electric cord when coiling in a 5gal. bucket with handle. Easy to carry around and easy coming out. I have 200' in a bucket and leave 6' of the male end out so I can plug it into a receptacle and draw out whatever length. Attach the ends when storing.

RE: Save-a-blade?????

anyone ever try that save a blade razor sharpening device they sell on tv? and if so any pros or cons about it?
I have seen it advertised and wondered the same thing. I didn't know that the replacement blades were so expensive that it would be cost effective to resharpen the old ones.
In 45years of shaving, I have NEVER used a blade because of acne problems but one thing that I ALWAYS wondered is WHY it is soooo important for some to use a blade or knife for shaving. I always felt my face was smooth enough after using an electric razor. Never had the desire or need to have my face feel like a new born baby.

RE: Zoo!

I got my wife off to her retail job at 3:20AM since she had to be there at 4:00. She called when she got to the store and said the people were camped out ready for the opening of the new Best Buy store that is next to her store. She did not expect too much shopping traffic when her store opened at 5:00AM but just called and said that the people did in fact come in and she was the only person on a register. She went crazy until others were pulled from the floor to open other registers and turns out that the stock was not able to get replaced until more help came in.

RE: Climatologists baffled by Global warming stall

The "other side".
Just call me confused :h and excuse my ignorance, but...
I really have not been following this whole Email thing so I could be VERY wrong with the following, but while flipping channels this past week I thought I saw this Glenn Beck guy on Fox lambasting the global warming(change) proponents. Does this link now mean that he might have been barking up the wrong tree, or is the link a bunch of who-ee and the email stuff is real?

RE: 245/70r19.5 tires????

I had a tire expert check my 6yo Sumitomo 8R19.5 and he said they were in GREAT shape. Lots of tread life left and no cracking what so ever. Just for giggles, I replaced the front and left the rears.
Two trips later I had a BLOW-OUT on the inside driver's side. Now the tires were new to start with (2002) and I kept them at 95psi and weight was never near limit and I never abused the tires.
Do as you feel necessary but just remember, it is you and your family who are relying on those tires.

RE: Health Care

A few weeks ago I was having one of those unable to sleep nights. While surfing the net and watching tv a report came on about health care/insurance in England. The gentleman was telling us Americans how wonderful their system is and how he has had to use the system for more than just normal care. He happily reported that treatment was without delay, very professional and without additional cost. At the end of the report he mentions that their coverage will take care of ANYBODY so us Americans can journey across the Pond and get sick because we will be treated quickly, quite well and FREE OF CHARGE.
I just think it was a plot to get American vacation dollars over there.:B

RE: Climatologists baffled by Global warming stall

50 years from now, they can blame it all on me, and I won't care..
If things are worse in 50 years from now, the problems will rest on the shoulders of our children and grandchildren. Wouldn't that be a nice thing to leave them. :(

RE: Climatologists baffled by Global warming stall

I wonder if the men, who 100's of years ago sailed the oceans of this planet, were privy to the pollution I saw on the horizon and in the water on the recent Panama Canal cruise my wife and I returned from last week?
I can remember many here on this forum who said that there was no recession happening and for all I know, might still feel that everything is fine and dandy. In denial there is a false comfort.
To believe that the existence of man has no negative impact on the ecological condition of this planet seems illogical and irresponsible to me. I do not believe the earth is capable of cleansing itself from the waste mankind has imparted on it and continues to do so.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction and mankind's actions have not been all that healthy for our Big Blue Marble.

Ford/Volvo top the list

Just saw on the news that the 2010 IIHS report out has Ford/Volvo topping the list with the safest cars. This year's testing includes the new roof strength requirements. I'm considering a 2010 Taurus SHO to replace my wife's 2008 Taurus Limited. She has that lead right foot.
Bet Henry is smiling.

RE: Refrigerator Mildew

Even though we now live in SW Fl., I still do the same thing that I did 23 years ago with our first MH's refrigerator when we lived in NJ.
After coming back from a trip, I take everything out, wipe down the interior with a little bleach on a rag and leave the doors open for a day. After that I shut doors tight and wait until the next time we use the MH. Have had no problems even when the MH has sat for 3 months during the hot and humid SW Fl. summer.

RE: propane detector "chirping"?

hmmm, will it be wired to the coach battery or the chassis battery?
My chassis battery is bad, goes flat after a wek days parked.
Coach battery is good tho.
I have 2 battery disconnect switches. The propane detector is on the house battery. Detector doesn't come on unless the house switch is on and if I don't turn the detector off it will do a dieing chirp when I flip the house battery disconnect switch off.
