RE: So sad... It's time to say goodbye.

Dan & Debbie, You certainly are good parents and show the desire to help your children get a “leg-up” in their future. However you can still be part of this forum and continue participating… it’s the people here who have become friends, not the RV… I only hope your children understand how much their parents are willing to give up giving them a better future. Good Luck to you & your children and hopefully we’ll continue to see you online. RVman / John

RE: Transfer

Hello RVMan3252, Normally it isn't. However exceptions can be made based on circumstances. One thing to keep in mind is that a Lifetime Membership is never transferable, however we do offer a great program to set up a child with Lifetime Membership. Your first child is $99.00 dollars to give them the gift of Lifetime Membership, and each additional child is only $49.00. Wes Robinson Marcus' Rapid Response Team goodsamcs@goodsamfamily.com Whoa... :) I don't plan on transferring my membership anywhere... I just never though of a Good Sam Membership as transferable. Although my grown children have been raised on our boat and RV'ing, not one have shown an interest in it so far, but I am still hoping. Thanks for your clarification of the transfer though. Have a great day! RVman / John

RE: Should I do this?

I would do it in a heartbeat... You said he's done a ton of work for you in the past, now you have a chance to help him out. If it were me, I wouldn't insult him by signing a waiver, I would say sure, lets go get your new trailer... I would put him in the truck and help the man out. That's just being a good neighbor... This is just my opinion... it's not going to hurt your truck and I surely wouldn't worry about the liability, that's why you pay for insurance. Relax and be neighborly, turn it into a fun trip... A Great Club...

I have personally had nothing but positive out comes when dealing with Good Sam. I have always gotten my cards in a timely manner, the 3 time using Good Sam Roadside Service have all been awesome with follow-up calls. I don’t receive tons of junk mail and every phone call I’ve made has been responded quickly and professionally. I have been a Lifetime Member when it wasn't so inexpensive and still feel it was a value. I have met Marcus when at the Louisville Good Sam Rally, even with his busy schedule, he took the time to talk to my wife and I, making us feel we were important to him and the Good Sam Club. I just want to say I am glad we are Good Sam Club Members and appreciate the club. I highly recommend joining to anyone who RV’s. Thanks Good Sam, keep up the great job!!! RVman / John

RE: Letter from the Chairman Oct- Dec

Im am not only confused but offended that anyone thinks that anyone is excluded. A veteran is anyone who served in the military. I am very proud to say that good sam for the first time is actively recognizing men and women who protected all of us. IF you served in our armed forces for any period of time and protected and served then upon you moving on to a different path I would consider you retired from that position. Your service should be recognized and it is. ML Thanks Marcus

RE: You're on your own, good luck

roundown8366 Thanks for posting your outcome... I didn't doubt Good Sam would make it right to you, I just hope that the problem, internally is solved so that no others, including myself have problems on the road. I just want to know I can count on their service. RVman / John

RE: You're on your own, good luck

The intent of my comment was not to sir up a hornets nest… I just want the peace of mind that I can count on Good Sam Roadside Service. I understand any company can have problems on occasion… however I just want to know that is not the norm. Several years ago I had a flat tire on my 5th Wheel. I called Good Sam Roadside Service. The out come was pristine; the follow up by Good Sam was awesome. I was contacted by Good Sam to make sure we were safe, and told when to expect the tow truck. Several follow-up calls to make sure the service arrived, and later a call to verify everything was done to my satisfaction. Good Sam Roadside Service was on top of my problem from the start and followed it through and after the end. Wes I don’t care about the particulars of the complaint… I just want to know that Good Sam took care of the problem and this type of incident will not happen again. Like I said from the start…. I just want Just peace of mind that I can continue to count on Good Sam Roadside Service. I do thank you for the follow-up. RVman / John

RE: You're on your own, good luck

I’m like tkscas01, I thought I had peace of mind with Good Sam Roadside service… but now I am beginning to wonder. I have been lucky and not needed the service for several years. I have always been a proud supporter of Good Sam, but I’ll have to say I’m beginning to wonder. I hope there is more follow up on this matter, rather than handled via private messages and / or emails. I want to know if I have a Roadside Service I can count on or not. I’ll be waiting to hear more on this thread, I hope! RVman / John

RE: NEW PERSONALIZED GODD SAM CLUB MEMBER PLAQUES

When I became a "Life Member" I received a plaque, lapel pins, hat pins, a couple hats, stickers and cards with name & address on them... however that's when you paid full price for the Lifetime Membership. Now they have reduced the price of Membership and also reduced the "give a ways" with it. Actually the reduced membership price is a better deal which allows you to buy the plaques and other items if you want them... RVman / John

RE: Good Sam "Route Your RV Trip" Thoughts

I am not a “techy” person, so when it comes to a computer program, it needs to direct me step-by-step, or I don’t use it. When I plan a trip I use many sources to do so, books, maps, GPS and Referrals. I think Good Sam should have the best and easiest “Trip Planner”, after all, they are the leaders in a RV’ing Club. I agree with “focker” and am in hopes Good Sam leads the way in “Trip Planning” program. RVman / John

RE: Pole building for the RV- is it worth heating?

I insulated & installed heat in my building (50' x 80' x 16'). I normally keep the heat set & 40 degrees and it seldom runs, however it is nice if I want to work on the 5th Wheel or get it ready for a winter trip to Florida I can set the temperature to around 50 or 60. The insulation keeps the building warmer & cooler depending if summer or winter. I also winterize my 5th Wheel, just in case we have a power failure. RVman / John

RE: Membeship and Roadside assist renewal

I renewed my Roadside Assistance and had my new cards in less than 2 weeks... Must of been a "quirk" in the system? I renewed online... RVman / John

RE: Fuuel Stabililzer for diesel?

We always use "Power Service" additive in all of our trucks we lay-up for the winter, also use it as an additive on those cold mornings on the trucks & equipment we use all winter long. RVman / John
