RE: How to save a diabetic traveler - out of cash

I have come to believe the beneficiary in giving is the giver. Regardless of the "takers" intent or need in the act of giving I am the one who gains. I have been blessed and able to give within reason so I do. "If you have done it unto the least of these you have done it unto me". I would hate to miss that opportunity....JMHO

RE: Is this enough TV for this trailer (DRV 36TKS)

I tow a 2010 Mobile Suites 36TK3 w/ a 2011 F-350 DRW diesel 4x4 Crew Cab Lariat. Here are my weights. Truck alone front axle 4980 drive axle 3660. Loaded with trailer front axle 5260 drive axle 7900 trailer axles 13820 between the two. Hopefully this gives you something to compare to. Suites has generator, stacked washer dryer which of course adds to the weight.

RE: what can i do

I don't post often but a couple of replies to your issue have solicited such ire that I feel it necessary. First I can't imagine your concern over such an event. Regardless of what you buy as an R.V. a ton of money is invested knowing it is a depreciating asset. The only upside is that it performs reasonably well and we are able to receive a fair amount of enjoyment from it. When your investment does not return this expected value it is a bitter pill to swallow. I sincerely hope your ordeal takes a turn for the better and you eventually derive the enjoyment that you paid good money for. Now for the real point.....how in the world can a fellow R.V'r attack someone on their sentence structure etc when that fellow is in the midst of such a mess. I feel compelled to apologize on their behalf. It was uncalled for and absolutely of no value other than to mark their absurd insensitivity.

RE: Ordered new fifth wheel yesterday

We purchased our Suites from Bennetts three years ago. They were good to work with and we believe fair in their pricing. With the new Suites dealer in the area we were wondering if they were still selling Suites at Bennetts.

Towing information requested

I am interested in hearing from anyone that has used a swivel-wheel type device to take their toys with them. I am familiar with the different devices out, there I am mainly concerned with the "swing" as you turn. Thank-you for your input.

RE: Poor service support from motorhome builder.

I definitely agree with the OP. We are not talking warranties, we are talking reasonable expectation of durability and use. If my Honda's warranty expires and two years later, through no fault other than workmanship, the paint begins to flake off or the engine starts to smoke etc etc I wouldn't buy another nor would most of you. Not because of the warranty but because it did not live up to reasonable expectation of service life. If the OP wore the seats out due to use or used inappropriate cleaning etc then he eats it but if they start flaking after four years with reasonable care then that is on the manufacture.

RE: Considering "Crossing-Over"

Wow, what great responses. Thank-you all for taking time to assist us in our search. Clearly this will be an exercise in patience and a process of discovery. Your individual experiences were what we were hoping to hear about as we are very new to this part of the R.V. lifestyle. Let the fun begin....

RE: Considering "Crossing-Over"

Thank-you each for your replies. I may have been confusing, I will not be towing the dually so a 5k tow limit would be fine. Also the 40' thing is kinda the max. We are not opposed to a bit shorter. Thanks again

Considering "Crossing-Over"

My wife and I currently own a '10 Mobile Suites that we tow with our '11 F-350 dually diesel. We also tow the Harley, my drug of choice, behind the Suites. We will be retiring in a few months. We already live full-time in the Suites but will soon be traveling much more. We are considering a Class A as it provides a better towing arrangement. All we know of this arena is what you good folks have taught us as we read your forum daily. I just read today a response by, I believe it was Gale Hawkins, who wisely said, in essence, get your stuff together so you can move on a "deal" when it presents itself. Our "gotta haves" are opposing slides in the living room, a slide in the bedroom, at least a combo washer-dryer, preferably a stacked set. We think we want 40' or less and I think I want a diesel pusher. Our budget for this is 100k give or take a few dollars. We would appreciate being pointed in the right direction as to best makes-models, chassis, engines, etc and also what to stay away from. Thank-you in advance for any input you might have.
