RE: Which gutter extensions work ?

If they aren't long enough, you could always add a clothespin to the end of one.

RE: why would you do that?

I started using public showers and bathrooms in 1978 when I joined the YMCA and went everyday before work. I continued that when RVing.I guess that makes it about 35 years now.
I have never had a health problem with them. We have always used our shower in the RV for storage and hanging clothes. Some of us don't have the money to buy large RVs as the OP must have.
Most of us do not care where others shower. I also don't care to know why so many RVers eat out all the time instead of using their kitchen. Nor why RVers buy desert when they can make it themselves. In fact I never ask those questions.

RE: Tape cassette to CD via computer

I think that anyone worried about the qualify of sound after a tape to computer conversion doesn't have much to worry about. The sound on take was never that great in the first place.
I converter all my books on tape where quality of sound isn't an issue and it took a long time, 30 minutes each side. My wife has some LP records that she wants me to convert but I told her, just buy new ones.

RE: Wdw8 down to Wdw7 in laptop

1492: I really agree with you. Of course not all software will run on a new OS. And also not all hardware will run on a new OS. For instance see the new IOS which will not run on the older Ipad etc. MS has given each vender early copies of the OS so they can make the changes needed for their product. Some do this for free and some make you pay. That is not the OS fault. Win 8 was available to vendors for at least a year before the release.
I know that each time Apple comes out with a upgrade or new release there are a lot of compatability issues and they have tight controls over the hardware. I just got a new IPad and my friends said how can you have issues with it. So I went to their forum and the first few issues were the same as mine.
Every Linux release has issues especially for the non Geek user.
I run over 175 programs and all but 2 worked on Win8. I found an alternative for both.

RE: Wdw8 down to Wdw7 in laptop

I don't know how old you are but you best buy 3 or 4 computers and store them away. The world is switching to touch ie phones, tablets, autos, gps, etc.
I am 73 years old, and I just recently got an Samsung, and a Ipad along with my Kindle. I am using the computer less and less now. But I will always have a computer no matter what OS release is available.
Before I install W8 I took the time to read about it on the net. All of it's changes and solutions were read about. Now you can't tell it apart from W7 or as a matter of fact from even my old Vista. I can't tell you the last time I was on the Modern side of the OS.
One can fight changes or one can learn how to use them. I repeat the future is touch.

RE: Wdw8 down to Wdw7 in laptop

Monkey44: here are the instructions on how to load software on Win 8. you didn't ask that here but I am answering it here.
Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the CD-ROM or DVD drive where the installation CD is located.
Look for a setup application in the root folder to launch the installation CD browser or alternatively, navigate to the subfolder for your software to directly install the software without the benefit of the installation CD browser. Note: The setup program may not display the extension "exe" - to identify which is the correct file, look for "application" in the file type column when making your selection.
Double click on the setup program to start the program installation.
The installation CD browser should now open and you should proceed with your installation as instructed in your user's guide.
I will suggest that if you couldn't find this as an answer to your original post, you will not be able to figure out how to wipe and install Win 7 and add the files you will need to get hardware to work.
By the way, Win 8 is exactly like Win 7 with an added Modern section. It is one click to get to the desktop. Once there, it takes about 1 minute to get the start button back. If you don't like the Modern section, there is very little reason to use it or visit it. In fact you can boot directly to the desktop area and also with Win 8.1 it is even more transparent to do so.

RE: WALMART RV Parking

Just like to add that one reason that a CG owner told me when I asked about why they don't have a cheap just overnight rate (I was staying there 2 nights so it wasn't for me), is that too many spoil it by using the water, and electric when no one is looking, staying late in the morning (after stating they would be leaving early), and other uses they weren't supposed to use because of that cheap rate.

RE: Google Play vs Apple App store

If you compare the ease of use between the two interfaces, google wins hands down.
As usual, apple seems to ignore how to make it easy and intuitive to find apps. For instance why does Apple thinks I want to have 3 columns for Apps when I want to just check out free ones? Then one has to go to the bottom of a long list before I can 'get more'. Then it comes up at the begining instead of where I left off. This type of interface continues on to Itunes.

RE: Cabover Leak...Help Appreciated!

YOur pictures appear to show that you have the same C as I have although mine is a 2001 and your might not be that old.
We found water damage where you have it, but just on the right side. We recaulked the trim and that kind of worked but later we caulked the running lights and that really worked. (I see your last post).
But the one thing that ended any new problem was last year when to stopped at a Walmart on the west side of OK city. We went in the back way and left the front way. Guess what, they have an eight foot height pole? across the front entrance. We hit it at about 3 mpg. (we were not the first to do that). Fortunately there is a RV sales and service about 1/2 mile away. As we pulled in the first words we heard were ' I see you have been to Walmart'. Anyway they rebuilt the cabover which was covered by insurance. Now I don't want to tell you what to do, but if you ever visit OK city, you might want to look at visiting that Walmart. (joke).

RE: Firefox browser

First of all, why don't you buy a class c. That answer is just as pertinent as those others that don't answer your question and seem to have some type of agenda.
I only found a few references to your ACTUAL question and they seems to say that the issue with with your virus program. Try disabling your virus program and start up FF. If you don't get the msg, you will need to look into changing an option there.
Also, are you running as Admin? if not, right click the icon and select run as Admin.
there are references to a corrupt file, but since you are past the install stage, I don't think that is the problem.
If all else fails, uninstall FF and reinstall it, and keep a close watch on any boxes that need to be unchecked or checked.
And remember, get a class c to really fix the problem.

RE: Different "Laptop" Thread! Looking for a replacement

I believe that XP with Fat32 has a limitation on Disk size. I can't remember what it is, but it is a lot less than 750GB.
Buy a new computer.
I think tablets would not have enough disk space for you unless you want to pay a lot of money if that is even possible.
I have never seen a stylus computer so I am not sure what a touch screen capable computer would do for you, but it might be similar. There are some touch screen windows computers on the market now. kind of pricy.

RE: Traveling in Tornado prone areas

For MN, here are some number from the Startribune newspaper today.
In the recent past MN had over 100 tornados in one year but in the past 2 years there have been about 35 each year. But we have also gone over 365 days without a tornado. No one can predict when or where a tornado will hit, except within a few minutes or so. They can be predicted based on the cloud conditions. You know that question mark look. Not going someplace based on tornados will leave you living in your basement forever. Precaution as posted above is the answer.

RE: Can I Pick Your Brains About Smaller Class C's?

We have a 2001 Winnie Minnie that is called a 24' but is really 25' which is just a couple of feet longer than a crewcab pickup with a full size bed.
We bought a 2 inch foam to put on top of the mattress which is getting kind of old. The mattress is cut off at an angle for the aisle to the bathroom. That makes it kind of short for the person sleeping on that side. So if you both are 6 ft or so, it could be an issue.
Slide outs. First of all, you loose about 3 to 6 inches of space which means that a closet is very very small on that side. 3 inches might not seem like much, but that is the main reason you don't see a closet on that side any more. Plus in my opinion all the slide out gets you is some walking or floor space, nothing that you can really use.
Ours has the extra chair, but it isn't the most comfortable thing. It does slide back and forth for extra space.
Yes the driver seat is limited on how far back it can go but I am 6 ft and don't have a problem.
One thing you might consider is that there is a company that sells stuff that raises either or both the front seats and make them turnable so they can be another chair for someone to sit on. It appears to be quite easy to do this if you are handy or else pay someone to do it.
Parking is so much easier with the C that we find we don't really need to pull an extra vehicle. Yes there are a few times it would have been nice but walking a little bit is good for you.
Driving the C is no different than driving the pickup we used to have.

RE: Wichita Kansas and tornados

If anyone is really worried about tornadoes, they probably shouldn't be anywhere in the midwest from may to april (in other words, any month.) They happen, but somehow people still live in the midwest. Just saw the outcome of the tornado in Joplin MO. For those people in it's path, really bad. For the other 90 percent no destruction.
We have been within 10 or 20 miles of a few of tornadoes in our travels over 15 years. A year ago, we were within miles of tornadoes in Ala, Tenn, and KY. What is the choice, never travel, never go to the midwest?
A couple of years ago, one hit the north side of Minneapolis, and we were within one mile of it when it happened. There are no absolute save places.

RE: Cant Print - Help

My experience is that most printers now require all ink cartridges to be working for the printer to work. If you have one that doesn't, great, keep it.
It seems that when one mfg finds a way for us to spend ink money, the rest follow along.
