RE: Bessy has to be put down. How can I keep RVing?

Have you noticed folks, he has not responded to any post. I do not believe he is reformed. I disagree, most stock brokers became mortgage brokers and I never did that. So, I more reformed than most. My C has had it. Leaks I didn't know about took place and the engine has a head gasket leak. The longer trip to work, requires new transportation. My old C only gets 8 MPG. I can always but the Corolla and and a used C later if I choose. I just thought, a stick shift power train on a Yota, or Nissan will last a long time and give me enough power to to a decent sized trailer. But, the truck will be another $7k out the door. I don't think it's worth it.

Bessy has to be put down. How can I keep RVing?

My Class C is over 20 yrs old and has many problems. Putting Bessy down is the only humane thing to do. I need a new car, at this point in time. I have been using the RV for an everyday driver. But, the trip to the salt mine is gonna get longer. So, I either buy a Corolla, which means my RVing days are over. Or, I could buy a V-6 truck, w/stick and could then tow a smaller TT. Which would be enough for me. The lower MPG, of the truck, is going to be a lot of expense, over the next several yrs. I don't think it's worth it. I have been all over the USA. But, would like the option to RV again at some time in the future. That option will be gone if I buy just a car. So, those are my two choices. The choice I make, I'll be stuck with for the next ten yrs. Any other ideas?

RE: When looking for financing of a new RV tow vehicle

Was it Suncoast Schools FCU? No, I would rather not name the organization.

When looking for financing of a new RV tow vehicle

I went to 3 lenders, 2 approved the loan and one wanted more info than I was comfortable giving them. I have had other problems with this Credit Union as well. Like them making simple transactions complex, when they should not be. During the app process, I informed them that I had a lower interest rate. I saw no reason to continue with the app. Then I rec'd a notice of adverse action letter in the mail. It states the adverse action was due to member request. Couldn't they have just dropped the app, instead of this action of denying me credit? This can't be good for my credit report. The rep at the credit union, also wanted me to buy an extended warranty and go through their 3rd party auto broker. I didn't need any of that. I feel the rep at the credit union did this out of spite. She has also given info, that I know to be wrong. In other words she is incompetent. I tried reading the Fair Credit Reporting act. It's very hard to follow and is a very long and cumbersome document. Will this adverse action show on my credit reports, does anyone know?? I was a stock broker, not a banker. Maybe lenders need to reform as well!

RE: What type of HD TV to buy

But he may need one if he is going to watch You-tube from another source Yes, I get You-Tube from my ISP. I now watch on my 20 inch computer monitor screen. I would use the HDMI cable to watch on the bigger screen. Kind of sounds like plasma is one I can eliminate. I thought Westinghouse was a good brand. I'm not sure paying a lot of money for a particular brand is necessary. With technology changing so fast, it's also hard to know what to buy for future capability. Anyway, thx all for the help.

What type of HD TV to buy

I don't have cable or an outside antenna, at home. The antenna on my RV has not worked well in a long time. So, I'm just going to get what ever I can with the built-in tuner. People in my High-rise building say I can get the local stations pretty well. I never bought one of those converter boxes. I watch a lot of documentary videos on YouTube. Watching sports is a lot better on a big screen. Those are the reasons I have decided to get a new HD TV. I will be sending the signal to the HD TV using a HDMI cable. Target & Wally World have a Westinghouse 40" 1080p 60hz LCD for about $320. Best Buy has a RCA 42" Plasma 720p 600Hz for $300 and other 40 inch 1080p LCD TVs, from Coby & Dynex, also priced at about $320. I have never heard of those two brands. I have had good luck with Sharp products in the past. But, Sharp HD TVs are about a $100 more, for the 40 inch. Does it matter if I get a LCD, LED or Plasma? I don't think I will even be able to notice the difference between 1080p vs 720p, or 60Hz vs 120Hz. That's my guess anyway. Any suggestions or good ideas would be appreciated.

Best file storage system, CD/DVD or ext Hard Drive

I have a I620 w/Windows 7. I can erase and reformat old CD/DVD disks with, Live File System. This should allow editing of individual files on the disk. If I dupe a file, I could just erase it and reuse that space. I'm not sure this really works. Some of my disks now show less the original size. I'm just wondering if I should buy more DVD disks, or just spend the money for a external HD. A Seagate Expansion 2 TB USB 3.0 Desktop External Hard Drive, is $125. Then I would never have to buy more disks. The process of writing to disks also is slow and time consuming. Would a ext HD would be faster? Windows 7 says I need an NTFS storage system for backup & restore. Would an external HD be capable of NTFS storage and storage of Word files, photos and other stuff like that? With 2 TB of storage, I could store a hundred movies and still have plenty of room left. It would also allow portability of big files. What I do now is write movies and TV programs to a DVD and watch them when RVing, like when it rains and there is nothing else to do. I don't believe an ext HD would work that way, with the equipment I have in my RV. But, that's alright I have a library of stuff in the RV.
