RE: Great site for Truck Stops & Walmarts

When we were at one of the Walmarts in CV, cannot remember the address but could drive there again, a security guard had us move our MH. He guided us to a very nice parking place for a MH and our toad. He left before I could get out of the mh to see if we could overnight. We did not, but he did not tell us we couldn't and there were no signs saying we couldn't. Next time we are there I will be sure to find out.

RE: Potluck meals

Here is a fun one. Crockpot full of meatballs with sauce of your choice mixed in and served with pretzle sticks.Put the stickes in a pretty little container next to the crockpot. Sit a couple on a plate with the pretzles already in them so people know thats how to eat them. However do not do to many ahead as the pretzles get soggy.

RE: Huevos Rancheros

My mom's version (that has now become mine :R ) starts out with sausage (either link or Italian) cooked to done. Leave the sausage in the pan, and add a can of chili beans. Break a few eggs on top of the beans and add grated cheese to your taste. Cover, turn the heat down to medium-low, and poach the eggs.
Sourdough bread or toast goes well with it. And a bloody mary! This sounds really good, including the bloody mary, but I still think I would serve this over warmed torts.

RE: Great site for Truck Stops & Walmarts

While recently surfing, I came across a really great site that lists the truck stops and Walmarts for each state/province, complete with their amenities and maps. Perhaps some of you already know about this site, but it's a new find for me.
CLICK HEREI don't see any Walmarts. Am I looking in the wrong place?

RE: What is your favorite Fall/Winter RV meal?

We try not to be where it's cold, ever. Sometimes can't be helped except will never be where it is snowing ever again. We barbq in any weather and also love the crocpot. When it's hot we plug it in outside on a table so as not to warm up the MH. We use our big easy a lot too. A nice turkey or a roast is always good when its a little chilly outside cooked in the big easy.

RE: nuwave oven

I cook biscuits in mine. I believe the book tells you how. I put them on a piece of foil and then turn them over when they are brown so they will brown on the other side. If you look up nuwave or flavorwave recipes you will get some information.Yes biscuits, yumo! That pastrami burger looks pretty good too:)

RE: your favorite egg recipes?

Thanks Leo, you always have good suggestions for lower cal. recipes. I like the full fat as well as anyone, but I also find the healthy ones just as good if not better....Linda

RE: your favorite egg recipes?

I wouldn't. This recipe is not for dieters, people with high cholesterol or the lactose-intolerant. The original poster asked for our favorite egg recipe. This is a once-a-year recipe.Yikes, didn't mean to touch a nerve. It's just a question about a recipe, so maybe if you could use reg. milk you could have it more then once a year :)

RE: Eye Glasses in Mexico?

We have bought glasses in Mexico. I bought twice, once in San Luis and in LosAlgodones. Better glasses were purchased in San Luis, but this year I am going to try Algodones again and hope for a better pair. One thing to watch for is frames. Some are really, really cheap. Husband hated his. Got back to the USA and bought a pair.
we did the Algodones once. this was the result. My glasses were junk and poor quality lenses comfined by my friend that glasses are his business. cheap frames and both ended up in the garage. My wife tried the meds she takes and soon she was in very poor health because of the nothing good in the meds. Almost killed her.
This was our experience in Mex.
chevmanThis is amazing to me. We get our glasses, teeth and meds. in Mx. Have had nothing but good luck and much more money in our pockets. We live in Baja now close to Ensenada but still go to Algadones, it's cheaper and a fun trip! Also San Luis for the same things. Sorry about your problems.

RE: your favorite egg recipes?

Chile Rellano CasseroleThis recipe sounds great. Could I use something lighter then the half and half without changing the texture? I know it would change the taste a little.
