RE: Looking for seasonal work in Branson Mo

Many of the shows will let you in for free if you show a pay stub showing that you work at another show. There are discounts if you live in the area. You must show your drivers license to prove you live here.

RE: Texas Hill Country

We stayed at Pecan Park at San Marcos a couple of years ago and would go back again unless things have changed since then. They did have a fenced pet area.

RE: Branson, MO RV Parks

I also recommend Ozark Country CG. It's off of 165 not far from the Welk Resort. I was told that Jim and Linda had sold it and now just have the Stagecoach. I don't know if that's true or not.

RE: Branson Mo question

Try this Branson website. Branson Click on live shows on the left side, and you will get a list of all the shows and links to their websites where you can find dates, times, and purchase tickets. You shouldn't need to purchase any in advance though. Christmas shows will be running.
Some of my favorite shows are Six, Pierce Arrow, and Clay Cooper (country). If you like the Beatles, check out the Liverpool Legends. They are really good. Andy Williams had a great Christmas show last year. I haven't seen Dixie Stampede's Christmas show, but it's also supposed to be good. There will also be a Christmas show at the Sight and Sound Theater instead of Noah. The Oak Ridge Boys will be in town for some dates in November.
Silver Dollar City goes all out with Christmas lights so plan on being there after dark one night.
College of the Ozarks is an excellent place to eat as someone else mentioned. Sunday brunch is about $20 a person, and it's a good idea to have a reservation.

RE: Modus Operandi

We were lucky enough to fulltime for 2 years. Now we've bought a house and wish we would get back on the road.
We were constantly on the move, rarely staying in one place longer than a week. One of the things we did to help plan our travels was to get the travel books and maps from AAA on each state we were going to visit. DH and I would both go through the books and highlight the things we wanted to see and do. Then we got the maps and highlighted the places we wanted to go. Then we decided where we would actually go after looking at the map and seeing which things were in the same part of the state or along our projected route.
We made reservations about 2 weeks ahead because I didn't like not knowing if I would have a site and also to make arrangements for mail to be forwarded to us at the campground (about once a month).
We really miss traveling and hope to be able to fulltime again in the future.

RE: RV Parks near The Woodlands, TX

Check out Spring Oaks at Spring. It's a mobile home park with an area for rv's. Most of them are fulltimers. The pads are concrete, there are lots of trees, it's clean and neat (no junky sites), and we always found it to be very quiet.

In Kansas City I recommend the Steamboat Arabia Museum. Independence is just outside KC and is the home of Harry Truman. You can tour his home and presidential library.

RE: RV park between Little Rock and Pine Bluff, AR?

We stayed at the COE park at Redfield (Tar Camp) a few times and would stay there again. It's about 6 miles or so off the hwy. but easy to find--just follow the signs. They do not have sewer hookups, but there is a dump station on the way out. The last time we were there some of the sites had been redone and were very nice. Toni

My brother made his upside down planters out of gallon milk jugs and has them hanging all over the yard at my mom's house. I wish I had a picture to share!

RE: Best RVPark near Branson, MO. ?

We liked Table Rock State Park. They have some fhu sites. We also enjoyed Branson's Ozark Country CG which is closer to the strip than the state park. The laundry room, showers, pool, etc. are kept clean. The owners are friendly and helpful.
Enterprise will probably be your best bet for transportation.
I would stay at least 5 days. A one day ticket to Silver Dollar City is around $50, but if you want to go 2 days you want to get a season pass for around $75.

We have stayed at Spring Oaks on several occasions, and I would recommend it. We drove through Rayford Crossing and were not impressed at all. We enjoy the shade trees and peace and quiet at Spring Oaks.

The only thing I can think of that hasn't already been mentioned would be the Truman Presidential Library at Independence. You can also tour his home.

RE: Pea Patch Branson

Chamber of Commerce
I'm sorry I can't help with your question about the Pea Patch. I have seen the entrance sign on the strip.
If you go to the Chamber of Commerce website, click on Live Shows, then you can click on each individual show and see their schedule. Some of the shows have reopened. Others won't open until some time in March.

RE: Branson in 2 weeks - stay where? - ABC closed?

I don't know which campgrounds may be open. I guess it would be best to get on the phone and make some calls. Grand Country has one show running with their quartet. I think I read in the paper that White House has a show, too. Other than those I haven't seen anything in the paper about anyone being open. Most of them will open up again in March--some earlier than others. I drove the strip the other day and only put on my brakes once. Toni
