We havn't stayed there since the kids grew up.Had lots to do for kids years ago.It's in a beautiful part of Lancaster. We usually stay in Country Haven now. Its across the street( well almost)from Spring Gulch and lots of the sites have a great view of Lancaster Valley.
It's a little pricey but in our estimation its worth it.
That's also our story.

We have stayed there a couple of times. A large hill separates the CG from I-81. Very lttle road noise as I recall and the Flying J just before you get there is very convenient. We would stay there again if our travels ever take us that way again.

Kiptopeke would be my first choice for a one nighter. If parking lots don't bother you, the lot next to the toll plaza at the north side of the bridge allows over night parking. Don't think there is anything close to your route on the other side unless you go into Virginia Beach, and that can be noisey at times.

I don't know if we've ever had to even wait for more than 1 boat in the morning.
X2.....Boats run every 20 minutes. I am certain you will have no trouble getting there before the park opens.

For immediate responses search this Forum for Raleigh in the RV Parks section and if that doesn't work try a Google search for `Raleigh NC campgrounds'.
Of course, you can always wait around for a few days to see what responses you get to this question.
Yeah, did a search and nothing. Thanks guys for the quick response. Looks like the fair grounds would best suit our needs. Thanks for recommending it. We will give it a try.

CG near Raleigh NC??
Going to a wedding on June 1. Looking for a nice place near Raleigh. Thought about staying at one of the CG's along 95 but would prefer someplace closer if possible.

I remember a few years ago when the signs in Maryland were changed to "ALL" vehicles over 26k must stop. Tried it at 2 different scales and was basically ignored so I drove off and that was the end of my stopping.

Homestead CG Thanks LarryDel...did a ride thru 8 or 9 years ago when the new section was only about a year old. I'm sure much has changed since then. I have heard a few positive comments and will check it out again this year.

bucky...Is this the one you posted about? Rehoboth Gazette Article The opposition is coming out of the wood work. Read several articles about the "Doom and Gloom" us rver's and the new CG will create. Also read an article about plans for a new CG down in Ocean View. They pulled the plug on the project earlier this month because of opposition. I really like Rehoboth but have not been there since 3 Seasons shut down in 2005 other than a few day trips up from Castaways in OC. As mentioned above, let's hope for the best. I would love to start staying in Rehoboth again.

The show with no vendors is the show held in the fall. Normally plenty of vendors and Camp Grounds at the Winter show. Friday is a good day to go if you can. Not nearly as crowded as Sat. and Sun.

As with my house, I would only got them if they came with a life time warranty on the seal between the panes. The failure rate is just too high.
(yes, I got a LT on the house windows)
X2.....Replaced 2 about 20 months ago. Now 2 more are fogged up. They are not cheap to replace. Not sure how much good they do anyway with that huge single pane windshield just a couple of feet away.
