RE: How many nights have you camped?

It's seems the theme here is 'not enough nights this year'. That is the same with us. We did 31 nights last year, but only 19 this year. Part of the reason for us is that we flew down to Orlando in April for 13 nights. That was a $9,000.00 trip for us, so we had to keep our camping down a bit this year. Next year though, I want to get back up to that 30+ night amount.

RE: Finally, a big trip in the Roo! GNP, YNP and GTNP!

If the Beartooth Pass is open, make sure you take a day to travel it. Not with your HTT, just your vehicle. Worth the trip. I've done it twice, and we are planning on doing it again next year.

RE: Sioux Falls SD

We were there last July. We stayed one night at the KOA. It is close to the highway and will get some highway noise, but it isn't too bad in my opinion. For one night it was fine. As for the light show, it was ok. My kids were 12 and 10 at the time, and they did get bored of it. The weather was getting bad as well, as a huge storm was coming. We decided to pack up early and get back to our camp site before the storm hit. The falls and the park were really nice. For us, it was good for the 1 night that we stayed.

Awesome pictures! We are planning a trip there mid to late July next year. It will be my third time there. Absolutely gorgeous place. Glad you had a good trip.

RE: Campground to see Mount Rushmore?

Like most said, stayed at Rafter J last year and would go back without hesitation. The family really enjoyed it.

RE: Jet Skis Or Sea Doos

I knew we could in Sask, I just was wondering if anybody has ever tried it with their HTT and if the frame could handle it. The Sea Doos are and their trailers are pretty light, but was looking for any experience out there. Thanks all!

Jet Skis Or Sea Doos

Hey all! Just wondering if anybody has towed jet skis or sea doos behind their HTT? I know putting a hitch on an HTT and trying to pull a boat is out of the question, but what about something as light as a single sea doo?

RE: Battery Drain

The radio/dvd/tv/cd player will draw a huge amount of battery power on the 23B. We sometimes pull the fuse to the radio in our 23B and the battery will last more than a week. If we leave our radio fuse in, the battery will be drained in 3 days tops.

RE: Took Delivery of our New 2010 Roo 23B Today

Hey congrats on the new purchase. We have an 07 Shamrock 23B (sister to the Roo) and we absolutely love ours. The space in the 23B is awesome especially the last 3 model years as they increased the width by 6". Good luck and enjoy!

RE: Grill storage bag for the sidekick grill?

We bought a cheap gym bag from Wal-Mart a couple of years ago for one of my DS's soccer. We found the bag was a perfect fit for the Sidekick. It has a big opening in the front and top that the sidekick slides in with little or no problem. Not sure if Wal-Mart would have something like that anymore, but I think it cost us about $12.00 2 years ago.

RE: Roo 233 or 233S

The 233S has 3 queen beds PLUS one slide out making more floor space than the 233. Go to forestriver.com, click on hybrids on the left side, click on the Roo camper, then click on floor plans at the top. This will give you some idea. I recommend you go to a Roo dealer and look at the new Roo's. That will give you a start to hunt for a used one, or buy a new one. I'd wait till end of camping season and then buy (Sept/Oct). I don't see the 23B anymore? Might be because the 22" flatscreen and serious radio system were standard? Hope you had a great vacation. In both the Shamrock and Roo brochures it shows the 23B in the specs page, but not in the floorplans page. In Feb, my dealer had a brand new 09 23B, so I think they are still making them, but maybe they are phasing them out.

RE: DVD Player has died....

Holy cow - if I wanted to watch TV or DVD I would just stay home! Sorry, but there are a few things that will never grace the interior of my HTT, TV and DVD being two of them. On a pretty crappy day (rain all day), sometimes it's nice to just veg out in the HTT and have a movie going. It doesn't happen too often, but it's a good option. I use mine more for listening to music (quitely) while I BBQ or just putzing around the campsite. To each their own.

RE: Where to go? (Alberta) HELP

sunnyvale - what about a few days in Drumheller? We had a great time there. Fun little town, dinosaurs, museum, hoodoos, reptile world, hiking, rock climbing. Another place a little ways down the road is Dinosaur Provincial Park. Not sure what it's like, but I think it is similar to what you would experience in Drumheller. My DW, DMIL, and DFIL will be camping there near the end of July for a couple of days. Looking forward to it.

RE: DVD Player has died....

Ours died at the end of our first year with it (2007). It is a Concertone, and they do not make very good systems. Mine was still under warranty, so I got the dealer to install a new one. Once this one goes, I will look for something that is better quality and install during the off season. You might want to pack a spare dvd player. Good luck, but I doubt you will be happy with the Concertone.
