RE: Wintering in San Antonio area

I think this once again depends on what you're in or what will be one day. A park model or an upper end RV (i.e auqahot, double pane windows, etc...) would not be an issue. Sleep in late, coffee and paper, then enjoy the day in the sun and out of the wind.
On the other hand if you're a mobile RV'er in something without floor heat, then I think Rockport is right. Head further south and gain 10-15 degree's. You'll have more hours per day to be outside.
We lived in San Antonio for 25 years in a stick house (instead of an upper end RV) and I can tell you that it gets cold there in Jan and Feb. Daytime highs in the 60s may be reached by 3 or 4 p.m. and some nights in the 20s or 30s. Of course you can have 75 the next day. It's all what you seek. I agree with the other poster...We go 200 miles further south to the RGV.

Camping World Store Closed

Mission Texas Camping World has closed and Katy or New Braunfels Texas are now the closest for all the folks in south Texas for the winter. There is a giant hole in the shopping places for RV stuff now. Are there any plans to open another Camping World Store in extreme South Texas.

RE: Insanity of RV Plus Card

Pilot/Flying J need to pressure wash their fuel lines more often. I get very tired of having to wear different shoes to fuel and then take them off before entering the RV to drive. The lanes have so much spilled fuel in the lanes that it is impossible not to walk in it. When Flying J was just Flying J, The RV lanes were always clean. So, I know that the lanes can be kept clean. Happy Trails.

RE: Intermittent AC problem

This will probably get a laugh out of some, but it was true in one case. The ceiling mounted florescence light had a defective ballast and when the light was "on", the rear A/C would not operate. A RV service man in Kentucky looked at it and said "need to replace the rear A/C unit". A RV Service Tech in Tulsa checked out the problem and changed one of the ceiling mounted florescence light ballast and the A/C unit has been workins like it should for two plus years. Just a thought:W. Happy Trails.

RE: Please change the Logo

I don,t see why any one would say 50-60ish is representive of being out of shape (round is a shape:B)when our society is over weight, obese, etc. When I look at the logo, I see a 30-40ish man with his eyes closed and a big proud happy grin on his face. He has just preformed a good deed and helped a fellow camper with a problem.
If someone don,t want to travel a great distant to a Rally, I would recomend a State Samborie.
My vote,if there is an election, is for the current logo. Happy Trails.

RE: Gennys, A/Cs, Converters, Ohh My!

Hey, have you isolated the batteries then charged them with a portable battery charger? If the batteries take and hold a charge, you save the price of new batteries.:B Happy Trails.

RE: Good Sam Louisville Rally

Thank you Marcus. Now, how do I get a refund since I paid more than the $149. Is there a number I can call or an email address? Where do I go from here to get the refund?
Still no answer??

RE: Good Sam Louisville Rally

Marcus, I'm writing this to tell you that the Rally would not honor the price for Daytona that you stated from the stage. You said from the stage that dry camping at Daytona would be $49 and could be upgraded to electric for $99. The question was asked "what if you've already paid" and you stated that you would give a refund. Since we had already registered at the booth for electric at Daytona, we went to the booth and then office were told by both that the cost was $199 and that they would not honor the $99. I spoke to several members of your staff and they heard the same thing I did - $99 for electric at Daytona and several recommended that I contact you to let you know that the price you announced was not being honored. My reservation number for Louisville was 39235 and that is the number they used for my registration for Daytona. I hope you can remendy this situation since it was your announcement.
On another note, we are lifetime charter
members of Good Sams and despite the sun, the recepttion you hosted was outstanding. We appreciate it.
