RE: Where to boonduck on padre Island?

I have been known to camp on Padre Island National Seashore a time or two.

This was taken at the 20mm. That is 20 miles past the end of the pavement. Most times it is easy driving from the end of the pavement to about the 20-23 mm. Then you have to have 4X4. There is a dump station at the park and a store at the main area. Fishing is good and this time of year you might not need a long rod to fish with.
There is nothing special you will need to worry about. As you can see in the picture, Camp close to the dunes. NOT IN THEM.
You can also camp on the beach at Mustang Island State Park. They do have hookup if you want to do that.
Remeber, it is the beach. Have fun

RE: Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper Here

I just wanted to share a couple of pictures from our last trip to the beach.

This is a typical morning for us when we are there.

RE: Why do you camp, and why a truck camper?

Why do I camp with a truck camper? I will just let the picture talk.

This past weekend for my 60th birthday. Only 10 miles from the pavement and cell phones are dead. Now this is camping old man style.

RE: taking a look at a 06 Lance 845 tomorrow

I am confussed. What are you going to look at? The add said 845 and your heading said 835. The 845 is for a short bed and the 835 is for a long bed. The 835 has smaller holding tanks than the 845. If you are looking at the 845 as described, it sounds good.
Not trying to cause a problem but I was wondering. Post Pictures if you get it.

RE: Canted tc jacks

I had one of mine like that. I disconected the lower bracket and bent the tab out a little. I noticed it after someone bumped me at a gas station. Not a problem to fix.
Enjoy

RE: san antonio tx

Over the years that I have been a member of this board, this question has been asked. I camp regularly on the beach out side Corpus.
There are a few places you can camp "ON THE BEACH" (No hook ups) for free. There are a few camp grounds close to the beach. It all depends on what you want.
Let me know what your questions are and I will try to answer. Don't ask me how much. I go to my favorite camp site which is 10 miles past the end of the pavement on Padre Island National Seashore. My cost is $20.00/year. The sourounding RV parks or camp grounds, I have no idea what they charge or what they provide.
I have stayed at a very nice camp ground in San Antonio. I will look it up and let you know.
Welcome to South Texas. Bring your AC.
