RE: 2011 Ram 1500 Integrated Brake Controller

I have the factory controller on my 2010, all the displays I need are shown on the controller itself, they also show on the dash. So to answer your question, if the 2011 is the same as my 2010, then you don't need to see the display on the dash everything you need will be displayed on the controller itself.

RE: Vortex fan ?

Thanks, I just bought a single speed. What did you use for a speed controller?
There was a post on here on how to turn the single speed fan into a two speed with reverse with some parts from radioshack. I did it and it worked out well, much quieter on low speed.

RE: Removing old vinyl decals from fiberglass

3M eraser wheel works quite well.
2X I used this on my Northstar, first owner put some decals on and the original decals were also starting to peel. Very easy to use and came off quickly. You could see the shadow from the original decals because the camper had faded after 8 years but still looked better once they were off.

ipad service question

I have a verizon ipad that I have been using on wifi at home, cellular service have not been connected. I would like to use the cellular service during the summer months when I'm away from home. Can you just pay for 4 months and then have the service disconnected until next year?

RE: Dodge Sirus Antenna relocation???

My plug was located on the passenger side kick plate. I purchased one of the magnetic antennas and just laid it on the dash. Works great.

RE: Truck camper not allowed.

I had the same note in my glove box. I also have a factory snowplow package. What does the snowplow package have to do with a truck camper?
Is yours a Dodge?
Yes it's a Dodge 2500

RE: Suggestions for refilling fresh water tank when dry camping

If you have a hose for winterizing to draw in anti freeze, you can use the same hose to draw from a 5 gallon can or whatever. You might have to lengthen the hose so it will reach and draw all the water. You will have to switch the water fill from city to tank fill if yours it set up that way.
This is by far the easiest method. We just extended our hose and drop into a 5 gallon jug and you're done.

RE: Honda 2000 VS Champion in parallel (I've done my research)

The reason I chose two 2000's over the 3000 came down to weight. Much easier to move the 2000 around than it is the 3000. If need be, my wife could pick up the 2000 but no way she could pickup the other.

RE: Weather Tech

I bought a set at cabelas, they are weathertecs with the cabela name on them. On my previous truck I bought a set from them and the box came with instructions to place the new "Trail gear" sticker on top of the Weathertec name. When I purchased mine Cabelas were the best price.

RE: Carrying Honda 2000 inside trailer

I have stored my honda 2000 inside the camper while away from my campsite. As long as the vent is closed you will not have any fumes or the smell of gas.

RE: Plugging in travel trailer

Most modern trucks have an isolated system
Dodge is one that will remain 'connected' when the ignition is in the off position. So it really depends on your tow vehicle.

RE: Compressor Recommendation

I installed a Viair Heavy Duty Air System (10005). This is an on board system mounted under my truck. Costs about $350. I use it to air up after driving the beach.

After taking the camper off 2 or 3 times I went and got the electric conversion for the jacks. Best upgrade I made to the camper.

Return battery without receipt?

The battery I bought at Sam's Club this spring has a bad cell. It's a duracell with a date code of C2 (March 2012), I cannot find my receipt. Has anyone taken a battery back without their receipt? I'm going tomorrow and hope I don't have any trouble.

RE: EZ Pass

pretty simple; PA charges a monthly fee to use their ez pass therefore don't use a PA ez pass.
Not true, PA now charges $3 a year to use EZ Pass.
Ok; still don't know why you would use a PA ez pass when other states offer them for free.
Good point, I didn't know other states offered them with no yearly charge. What states are free other than IL?

RE: EZ Pass

I only called to question a huge toll charge. The guy told me my truck was too heavy for a personal acct.
I have been charged the commercial rate 2 or 3 times on my EZ pass while towing my camper. I just call them and they make the adjustment every time, it takes about 2-3 weeks. I do check my account every month to make sure I don't have any over charges.
