RE: Cheap Heat clarifying questions

I too thought this might be a good idea after seeing it advertised. Asked my RV Guy what he thought. They hadn't heard of it at the time but investigated it and advised against it, one reason being the electrical nightmare to install it. So we are back to usingt 2 space heaters and use the LP as backup and use the little heaters in the 2 bays with water.

RE: Momma wants a wood floor

Did ours ourselves last year. Got floating floor from Lowes and total cost was less than $500. Slides go over it fine. Posted info on this site then.

RE: extended warrenties...a good idea?

Thanx to all...though I'm not much of a gambler, Carol does, so we're even up on that. Probably will take our chances. There were times when the warranty would have paid but work would have had to be done by an rv shop, ie: had a voltage spike due to a short in the 50 amp cord plug. Caused the TV to fry. No shops around and was time to get a new HDTV anyway so off to Wally we went. Probably broke even with that policy, which was 7 years for $1200. Now a 3 year would be $4200. Will put $200/mo into a savings acct.

extended warrenties...a good idea?

Our coach will be 7 next year and the extended insurance will expire. What do you all do...have one or roll the dice?

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Since I did something, here goes...lubricated all seals and gaskets as well as the steps. Built a shelf in a storage bin where I keep hoses, elec etc, so they will stay organized. Started getting service plan quotes since mine expires next month...7 years old.

Good Sam Extended Service Plan (ESP)

Just wondering if any of you have any experience with this, pros/cons. Thinking about it but then think in one year it will cost about $1500 with a $500 deductable.

RE: Replacing carpet with vinyl

Put Lowes brand of "Allure" last year. Looks great and no prob with slides going over it. Did it myself and it was easy (except getting the carpet out!)

RE: April camping in Lancaster PA area - suggestions PLEASE

Stayed at Beacon Hill in Intercourse (adults only I think) Nice very well kept and friendly owners. NOT on main highway but within walking distance to Kettle Kitchen Village (or something like that) and Amish buggy rides...well worth it.

RE: Switching out TV's

After switching out both TVs in the rv...finally did the same for the house...could,'t believe how heavy that old sucker was. Bought a 39" from AMZN $265. Works great and only had to make adjustments to the entertainment ctr to fit it in.

GS ESP...worth it?

After our first 7 years with an extended warrenty, which I'd say we broke even with, it's time to consider GS ESP. My quote with tires but not seals & gaskets was $1380/ year with a $500 deductable. I don't do well in Vegas, but our first 7 years were a wash. What do you think? BTW I'm cheap...made my own step mats with a remnant plus a gromet kit for $12 (& had enuf left for a 2x3 outdoor mat.

RE: where in myrtle beach

If you don't have to be on the ocean, try Briarcliff, next to Barefoot Landing, NMB, $44/ nite & if you have Passport America $22. Good sized sites.

RE: Wife wants a Class A

RE: Verizon is too expensive

We dropped our land line at home...we fulltime 9 mos/yr so now DW has a straight talk phone/text/camera for $30/mo. I have a trac phone & use it so little it averages $5/mo. Then a Verizon wifi for $30/mo for 3 gig ($10/gig extra if we go over, happened once in 2 yrs. With the straight talk phone, we actually have 2, in case we are in an ATT area for awhile, we can switch phones.

RE: Added Sirius/XM radio to the Windsor!

Gotta have my sat radio, use it more than TV. Had it since '06. Radio already was set up for it but had to get an accessory pkg inc antenna. Bought at Best Buy. They ran the antenna wire through the firewall into engine compartment. So I ran the rest of it up the middle of windshield to the roof. Covered with black elect. tape to top of windshield than white the rest of the way, Hardly noticable...been up there 6 years.
