RE: sewer hose

The other fear that hasn't been mentioend is theft.. I usually connect hose on day 2 or 3 depending on service. Basically hook it up when needed and leave it until we are ready to leave. one less thing of many to setup when we get there. :):) I wonder how many used slinkys have been stolen from campgrounds nationwide....I'm sure it has to be well above 2 or 3 per year. AFter reading your response and my original post I guess I can see how it was mis read.. I was talking about the fold up support system not the slinky. I've already lost one in 2 years so the other 1 or 2 people beware!!! LOL>

RE: for Canadians - Update on CSA Sticker

IMO It's really all about the dealer and your relationship with them. We bought brand new Keystone in U.S. last year.. I did talk to local dealer and provide information on deal I had made in the U.S, prior to signing it. I told dealer to be fair if he could make a reasonable price match that I would gladly purchase from them (even taking into consideration the travel, border, etc. costs of give/take $2k). They couldn't even come close ($7k diff) so we made a 1 week vacation of it and went down to U.S. to pickup trailer. I have been back to same dealer 3 times for warranty items and was treated with smile and warranty service every time, no talk of any of above. It's just the crooked dealer's way of forcing the issue.

RE: Outdoor kitchen fridge, what a mess!!

We also have the outdoor fridge at the back of the camper. I fill it up all the time before we leave home but every single can/bottle is laying on it's side or stacked like hay bales, not standing. I've arranged the shelves so that there is only room for 1 or 2 rows of cans high. It's actually better to have it FULL than empty, less movement. I've never had 1 issue. my 2 pennies.

RE: Situation in Medora ND

We're thinking of heading down to that area in August. Any insites into the best/worst campgrounds? 2 golfers, 1 barker and 1 meow just looking for home base w/electrical so the golfers can tour the area...

RE: Keystone Bullet Premier

I have a 31BHPR and the skirting over the wheel well on the slide out side keeps breaking off due to wind. I have been back to the dealership before and the fixed it the first time by putting some aluminum braces under there but after this last trip I noticed it was breaking again and the aluminum braces were also broken. Anyone having this issue that has gotten it resolved thru the dealer that resulted in a permanent fix? I have had 2 braces break, actually the screw on one broke off at the frame (the one beside the sewer outlet) and the other one stripped out a couple different times (the one between the left tires). I removed the braces and rebent them so it held the skirtings at 2 spots instead of just one screw holding it. I just used self tapping screws. I haven't had a problem with them since then. A little more work obviously but I don't even lookin the mirror anymore... NEVER LOOK IN MIRROR AGAIN.

RE: Small TT (<25') w/slide, full queen?

Similar thread. I just need to add one more requirement: the 60x80 inch queen. The Lances have them. Any others? Some don't specify on their Web sites. Your shopping options may be expanded by searching for camper with no entertainment unit or wall at the end of the bed... Then you can just throw a 'house' mattress of your liking in there because it only hangs over about 4". I'm 6'4" - ask me how I know. :):)

RE: Noisy Water Pump

We used our water pump for the first time since installing an accumulator tank this year. WOW what a difference in noise. I had to shut off the ceiling vent fan to hear the pump!!! Great mod!!! Search for accumulator pump install and you'll see lots of options.

RE: Keystone Bullet Premier

Still love my camper! A month or so back I removed the panel under my stove and built a pot drawer. Well, the cabinet door finally came in from Keystone and I installed it. Here is an updated pic :B Did you order a special size door from Keystone or was it a match to one that already existed? I was thinking of ordering a couple of drawer fronts for my pot drawers.. What was the process? P.S... good job! (and me/you have the same cordless drill). thanks.

RE: Keystone Bullet Premier

Hi I am looking at the 31bhpr and saw some older models have a water purification system at the sink that came with winter package, anyone have any pictures of the system and would it be worthwhile to add to a new unit? Thanks in advance Ours has the water purification system but after a couple of bouts of bad water'itis over the years, we don't trust any water from the tap. So, I installed a second water pump attached it to the 'filtered' water tap and we put a 5 gallon water cooler jug under the sink. The line runs from the jug to pump to tap. I wired it into the fuse panel on the same fuse as the normal water pump, thinking they would rarely both be on at same time. All in all about $60.00 worth of parts and DW LOVES it! :):)

RE: New EcoBoost F150.

I have been a gm guy since I gave my teenage project car, a '64 Fairlane, to my brother over 25 years ago. Although I have a nagging desire to find a late 50s Ford pickup with a 401 Flathead for a project car. Anyway, all of that gm loyalty may have eroded after I started looking at a replacement for the DW's Bravada. She would like a pickup so she can haul her kayak and or bike to the great outdoors on the weekends we arent camping. My Sierra with the 496/ally is too hard on the wallet for anything but towing or hauling heavy loads. Looking at engine / drivetrain specs in the 1/2 ton varieties, Ford appears to smoke the equal gm offerings. Especially with the ecoboost technology. I am sold so far. I want to go test drive a few of both this weekend to see if the paper is backed up by being behind the wheel.. Has anyone else switched from a Silverado/Sierra to the ecoboost??? I got three words. Bikerack / roofrack /crossover.. I don't understand why you would need a full size pickup to haul a kayak/bike? Actually, it's easier for us to get our kayaks on the car's roofrack than it is to get it on the truck. Truck's with 6' box require some sort of rack to haul them. If it was me, I'd be looking at crossover's or 4 cyl cars for DW. At least then you'd have one vehicle in the family that got 40 mpg. That is, if mileage really is important.
