RE: Need 1985 Ramco Mirror

You might try Northwest. They had a small room full of mirrors the last time we were there.

RE: Anyone tow a 6000 pound dingy?

Yeah, we do.. I honestly don't think it affects the MPG at all. We travel anywhere from 62 to 65 MPH, usually closer to 62 and we always get 7.8 to 8.2 MPG. Now if you start going uphill, (we travel from CA to OR often), you will notice the drag of the towed vehicle. Our Chevy is the 4-door Crew Cab with the big engine and 4-wheel drive, so you are not going to be any heavier than we are. However, the 43 foot rig will difinitely be heavier.

RE: 50 amp cord acess door

Our 50 amp power cord had a powergrip plug on it. The grommet in the bay floor was to small for it to pass through (to hook up power) so the handle was cut off. It barley fits through but is very difficult and it pulls on the wires in the plug. We've had to reattach them once already. Is there a place we can order a larger grommet or access door so a powergrip plug can fit through? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Most of the exit holes on a 50 amp cord system have rollers on the bottom so that they will not rub. Without looking at the other links posted, the only place I saw them was at rvupgradestore. In fact, while I'm looking around in there.............Hmmmmmmmmmmm

RE: 1999 Damon Daybreak - plumbing work

If it is something that you have to remove and replace in the piping, go to Home Depot, buy a cutter for pex piping, (basically just a razor blade) about $10.00 for one that works well. Buy some 1/2 inch pex and a couple of 1/2" SharkBite couplers. Real easy to use, they just press on. That pipe will also run under the bed near the rear wall then down the passenger side to the kitchen, so you must also have an angled, carpeted piece there. On the ones I have seen, they used either 1/2" or 3/4" chip-board then covered it with carpet which is stapled on (and yes, they did wrap it) and then screwed it down with wood screws. They ran the screws in deep enough so that you cannot see them, but with a lot of patience, you can "Usually" find them. While compression fittings may work, I have never seen them made to work with Pex Piping. They are also quite a bit larger around and may not fit under the angle when you go to replace.

RE: Window Weep Hole Covers ??????

Since you're up in the NW,contact Joe at North West RV. He'll have them, but just about any RV parts store should carry them

RE: 1999 Damon Daybreak - plumbing work

howdy all, i have a 1999 Damon Daybreak 3270, and i have what i suspect to be a leaking pipe, however, i dont know how to access it to fix it, it is my "educated" belief that the pipe in question is hidden behind an angled base board on the drivers side of the bedroom, which makes sense cause the city water connection in on that side, and it seems like the only logical place to run a pipe from the city water connection to the bathroom does anyone know how to detatch that base board? or any advise? thanks in advance! You're right on your "educated guess". There is both a hot and cold water line under that "angled base board" The angle is attached with screws down into the carpet and it is almost impossible to find them all. Maybe with a magnet. Pencil magnet maybe?? You will find both hot and cold pex lines under there along with some wiring. Your leak could be where the water pump feeds the fresh water line when turned on. JimGo...That year had two fill points. One for the tank and one for the city pressurized water. I think that the water pump was used as a stop to prevent water from going both directions, thus preventing back-flow from filling the water tank. Tank was under the bed, not below in a basement. Aggieguy....Not knowing where you are finding the wet spot, but I imagine the incoming line is behind the drawer cabinet. They used a twist on connection as it entered. Could be it just has loosened up and is an easy fix without removing the angle. Just remove the drawers to see if that might be it. Good Luck.

RE: Any dealings with Morrison's V.I.P. in Fresno, Ca.?

Spoke with the owner today, was quoted a basic price of 18k for about a 11' slide, could be a few dollars less once he actually sees it. Hmmmmm Huh.........Keeping this one????

RE: Heatpump Installation

Heat Pumps become very inefficient under 45F. Keep that in mind Hmmmm, I would modify that to say they are very inefficient under 23F. At least that's true with the ones in our in the house. The worked their little tails off this week in the teens but did work. SCH...The newer ones do pretty good down to about 38* Bluwtr...I would say that the aux heat strips in your units got a real good workout. If you have heat pump only, I would sure like to know which brand!!!

RE: Places to Stop on the way to Quartzsite

Hello, we will be traveling to Quartzsite for the first time from Northern California. We are looking for nice resorts to stop overnight to accomodate 40ft Monaco. Hi Roger, We leave from Sacramento and stay overnite at Orange Grove RV Park. This makes it two days of travel. (fairly long days) We meet and stay with this group. Unfortunately, we will not be going this year. :( Cost is $40.00 for 14 days as this area has dumpsters for garbage, a tank dump, and water.

RE: Roof vent covers - whats' the advantage?

I see them all over the place, wondering what the hype is? I assume it allows you to keep vents open while going down the road, is that the main reason? I'm interested in any good feedback here, thanks in advance and Happy Holidays! Allows you to open your vents at any time. Reduces humidity in rig. Especially when the wife is cooking anything that requires boiling water.

RE: Planning on going to Quartzsite in a couple weeks

Do I need reservations this time of year? My stay will only be for a couple nights. Also, I'm NOT 55+. I'd like to stay at an RV park with full hookups. Any suggestions? OK, I'm not trying to be a smartass, but why are you traveling in a MH?? You have a rolling home that will EASILY do two or three nites with no hook-ups. The expensive BLM sites are $40.00 for two weeks. I know of a very friendly group that would welcome you (SOB) with open arms. You will never meet a greater group of people than this!!!Please read this thread, and go enjoy yourself. By the way, I realize this is a monaco group, but we have always welcomed all brands.........(especially newbees)

RE: All owners of Damon Intruders

Copied from the PM...Just a noobie question. That is the main battery disconnect for the 'house' or 'coach' batteries. In the on position you can use all of your interior 12 volt systems (lights, water pump, etc), it also must be on for the batteries to charge either off the engines alternator or the coach's inverter (while on 'shore power'). You will want it off to isolate the batteries during storage or non-use For the noobie owner. That word should be "Converter", not inverter. Your 96 probably did not come standard with an inverter/charger.

RE: Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Looking at the floor plans for the 2003 year,(the 2002 are not on the website, it shows all those locations being on the same side of the coach. I would first be looking at the gasket under the Air Conditioner, as it could be running in a duct before finding a place to leak. If not that, some other place on the roof where it could be getting in.

RE: A different question about new batteries

The equalizer built into the Magnum is much more powerful than the one built into most converters (Charge Wizard). The one in the Magnum will equalize at approx 15 volts for about 4 to 6 hours. We bought our MH in 06 and it has been done 3 times in 6 years. Has not needed it any more than that. Probably also depends on whether it is normally plugged in 24/7 while in storage or if you are constantly discharging and charging. If constantly boondocking, may need it more often

RE: My Hotwater Heater Compartment Smokes when Propane is On

Probably needs a good cleaning. Wasps and other insects really like to build nests inside and block the air and flame passages. I have heard about this many times, but not your specific description. I have screens on all air intakes, but that still does not work all the time. Get your RV service person to show you how to check for blockages while you are at it. Good Luck!! Thank you very much....I definitely will do that!!:) Spider web in the gas flue. Likely at the 90* bend

remco states that 2010*2012 manual trans are towable 4 down as is. Auto trans is towable 4-down with an add-on tranny lube pump. Remco
