RE: "Pocket Hose" reviewed on Consumer Reports

I have used one for years! Matter of fact, just beginning to use the second one. We use it exclusively to hook up the water in campgrounds. I have to laugh at the comment concerning solder. if your house has copper pipe, you are drinking solder. Anyway, they work great, would not use anything else!

RE: Finding Past Owner

Looks like I wopuld not want to sell a used item to anyone here! I would be happy to give my info to any buyer, any time!

RE: Finding Past Owner

Plenty paranoid people here! Years ago, it was common practice after buying a used car, who could afford new?, to call the previous owner to find out what type of oil was used. In those days, mixing or changing brands was a no no.

RE: Emerald Ash Borer profit?

I believe that the Ash Borer arrived in pallets. Maybe not the best choice!

RE: 10 Worst States for Retirement!

I hope that this forum is not going to become a hangout for the gun nuts. Plenty of right wing forums for that!

RE: Trip to PEI, NB, Novia Scotia

I am happy to see that you are going to tour the Gaspe. In my opinion, the most scenic drive in North America. We did it a few years ago, if all goes well, will do it again this summer. I advise you to Google Quebec Tourism and send for the brochures.

RE: 1982 Pace Arrow

What year is the Flexible? Many years ago, I drove a/47 Flexible used as a school bus. The motor was a Buick straight eight!

RE: the worse built motorhome you can think of

Why don't you go on a car collectors site and mention that a fifty six Corvette is the worst car ever built? To say that Open Roads are the most cheaply made is sure to be a put down to someone!

RE: How much to budget for RV repairs ?

At the risk of sounding curt. If you have to budget for repairs, you are not in the position to own a motor home! What if you blow the motor, are you ready to pony up fifteen thousand or so?

RE: Don't Buy and Old Motorhome Unless...

Gee, I wish I had known all this before we bought, private sale, on the spot, our /93 classC in the year 2000! If we had realized the pitfalls, it would have prevented us from having to drive this elderly unit to every corner of North America, including several trips to Florida. I wish I had known, that way, I would not have to bother retrieving the now twenty year old rig from storage and mindlessly driving it to the east coast this summer. What is it they say, Too soon old, too late smart?

RE: Camping World Bashing--Not I

I guess CW bashers are much like Walmart bashers. If you hate the business so much, why in heck don't you just stay away?

RE: Camping World Bashing--Not I

As a Canadian who travels extensively in the US, CW is great for us. With the on average smaller Canadian dealers and the built in higher Canadian prices, CG is always a good deal for us!

RE: Home phone question

Our internet comes through the phone line. Check for compatible handset, good idea! Thanks. Doesn't mean you have to home phone to get internet. Our ( Shaw) dish does not carry internet. As we are in a small town, broadband is not available. Local cable sucks. Therefor, we use Bell internet over our phone line.

Home phone question

I have, in my house, a set of Panasonic Dect 6.0 portable phones with answering machine. Question. As one of the phones is no longer working, If I buy another set of Panasonic, will my present remaining phones work with the new base/answering machine? The reason that I ask, if this will not work, no problem. I just thought that if they are compatible, no sense in changing brands. Thanks in advance!

RE: Are Camp Grounds Really that Safe?

What is with the looking down on permanent park residents? The Florida park where we winter has a mix, those passing through, those spending three or four months, and those living year around. We have become very good friends with some of the year around folks. This no long stay people seems like snobbishness to me!

RE: Home Gym

Depends on how much you need extra clothes hanging area. :) If it were me I'd stick with the gym, especially if you like it. Sometimes the social aspect of the gym will keep you going. It's very easy to ignore the equipment when it is in your house. I do have a Concept2 rowing machine that I'm using regularly, but have had a home gym in the past. Mine ended up gathering dust, at least the parts of it that didn't have clothes hanging on it. :) They are great if you can stick to it. I'd start small and see if you actually use it, then after a couple months, if you're still doing it, see about investing in some better/larger/more versatile equipment. JMO of course. First, thanks for prompt replies! I agree with the social aspect of the gym, I was going with two friends. The problem is, that gym is in Florida, now fourteen hundred miles away! I checked out the local gym here at home, seemed like more of a Yuppie setup, did not seem my cup of tea. I am thinking of a combination setup, such as the Weider, perhaps a Bowflex.

Home Gym

Does anyone have a home gym? Do you use it, or does it gather dust? I joined a gym in Fla this winter, was pleased with the results. Now at home, I am thinking of buying a (used) outfit. Any ideas?

Use PB Blaster instead of Liquid Wrench. Never known it to fail.

Is this the same unit used in the Black Helicopters? Such paranoia!
