RE: Advice to new snowbirder from Canada

I second being carefull about the policy.
Do not trust what you hear from a bank or travel agency,
they are only concerned with making the sale,
what happens when you try to collect, not so much!

RE: Getting into shower/tub

The one that I used has two large suction cups, no drilling or screws.

RE: An Introduction of Sorts from a dreamer/wannabe RVer.

I will second the purchase of a classC with no toad.
My wife and I have toured all of N America including
Alaska with a twenty two ft C , no toad.
It is actualy shorter than many crew cab pickups.
Anything under five or six years and one hundred thousand miles
should suit you fine.
Personaly, I am not a fan of diesels for recreational use,
That is a personal choice.
Good luck, see you on the road!

RE: I'm thinking of going back to double edge safety razor?

I always used a Gillette double blade razor and soap.
About a year ago, after getting tired of knicks and scrapes,
I bought some triple blade throwaways plus shaving jell from the Dollar store.
Best move I ever made!
No knicks or cuts, much closer shave than ever before.
Amazing!

Getting into shower/tub

When using a tub, shower combo,
do you enter the tub from the end which has the taps, shower head?
I always set the water then enter the tub from the shower head end,
my wife sets the water then enters the tub from the far end.
This difference came to light when I installed a grab bar near the front, taps end of the tub.
According to her, only a dummie gets into the tub this way!
What say you?

RE: spade bit or ship auger?

If you drill a pilot hole,
there will be nothing for the screw tip on the auger to grab.

RE: Using a tire plug as an emergency fix

In the old days, before everyone became wealthy,
tires were run until they wore out.
plugging was accepted and common.

RE: Need Advice!!!!! On a Keystone 2010 Summerland 2980BHSS

Why the Keystone bashing?
We have a 2005 Keystone Springdale fiver,
of course it is not a hundred thousand dollar unit!
It is however, well enough built to do its job.
The appliances are all brand name,
The fit and finish is good.
I would not hesitate to buy another Keystone
and I think the OP is being done a diservice
rejecting his choice out of hand!

RE: Help finding 4 lane roads

Another reason that you could not give me a large unit or combo! If I wanted to only run interstates,
I would become a trucker.
SeaDog, glad your snowbird 5er is permanent as I would not want to meet you comming the other way taking up all of your lane and then some. If you cannot keep your rig in a 10' wide lane please stay on the porch. Most two lane roads are actually 24' wide (or wider). Why do you think 16' WIDE LOADS are allowed in most states on two lane state roads as most are actually 26' wide. Heck, most county roads are 22' wide these days.
If you are not comfortable meeting another big rig/semi on a narrow road, then yes you may want to stay on the interstates.
Hoo boy,
driving tips,
how can I ever thank you?

RE: Is Everyone Retired ?

I retired, partially, at sixty five.
I would be very nervous about retiring young unless
I either had plenty of savings or an iron clad pension.
The way conditions change now, looking ahead forty years is a long time!

RE: Everyone down south already?

Leaving Monday to our permanent fiver set up in Florida.
36 here this morning!
Will stay until Dec then home for a month at Christmas.
I enjoy the drives, fourteen hundred miles each way,
almost as much as the stay in the south!

RE: Antifreeze quality

My classC takes slightly over one gallon.
I run pink stuff until it runs clear at all taps and the toilet.
Then, I place an empty jug under the outside shower line, blow out all of the pink stuff, catch a jug full to use next year.
Two advantages, any residue left will be pink, the lines will not pick up that nasty taste!
