RE: Sprinter for cold weather

My 07 Airstream Interstate has fresh and black above the floor. The grey is below the floor but has a heating pad to stay liquid. Works great in the winter providing you have power. The heating pad will suck this house battery down witin hours.

RE: TOWING A VEHICLE (TOAD) WITH A CLASS B

When we get in a situation where the Sprinter van is to big, or against the HOA rules we rent.

RE: 5 cyc vs. 6 cyc class B

I guess I was so excited I lost a decade! Yup the 06/07 airstream is in the driveway? Clean, low miles, well maintained with records and an Alpine sound system with navigation. Only has 1000 miles on 6 month old Michelins. I have been a lurker here for a few years so I felt well equipped to finally take the plunge. Someone here said when you find the right one just do it and that is what we did. The drive home was only 40 miles but a mix of highway and wine country backroads. We will take for a nice drive tomorrow and shake it down some more but I couldn't be more pleased.

RE: 5 cyc vs. 6 cyc class B

Hi All, OP here. After extensive research, forum imput and wife's consideration, test drive and inspection we will be taking possession of the 96/97 Airstream with the 5 cylinder tomorrow at noon, I'm not sure I will sleep well tonight in anticipation! I appreciate all your considered thoughts and I am in ahh on how a group of total strangers, from around the world, have helped me through the process of selection and PURCHASE of this particular Sprinter based class B RV. Best, Sebtown.

5 cyc vs. 6 cyc class B

I am looking at an 06 Airstream with a 5 cyclinder and an 08 Winnie ERA with the 6 cyclinder. Both are in about the same general condition. I don't really need the extra seats or extra length of the ERA. I am leaning toward the 5 cyc due to the higher fuel milage. I would love some feedback. Both vehicles are close in price. Thanks.

RE: West Coast Trip

There are multitude of open RV parks around Bodega Bay, California. We were there today and they were open and almost empty. Take River Rd (just north of Santa Rosa) and head west to the coast when you hit Highway 1 head south. You won't be disappointed.

RE: VAN INSURANCE WITH A WOOD STOVE MODIFICATION

Seen this in lots of Schoolies in the late 60's early 70's of course they were considerably larger. Even the smallest wood stove will put off too much heat for the small confines of a van

RE: Suggestions of where to venture in Northern California

Visit Sonoma county the number 1 wine country destination in American. Home to Bodega Bay. Napa does a good job selling auto parts.

RE: 2007 Pleasure Way

LadyRVer, Thank you for that information. It is now clear to me that the first 300 hours cost $10. per hour plus fuel. Solar and extra batteries are sounding better!

RE: 1989 Ford Coachman - adding a generator

I have seen posts some here that showed a second line tapped into the top mounted sending unit and extending 3/4 down the tank. Not high pressure.
