RE: Tragic CG Accident in Minnesota

Update on the homicide.... The drunk got just over 4 years.... She pleaded guilty to "vehicular homicide and causing bodily harm while under the influence." Four other charges were dropped. I hope she gets her due in prison... I really hope she gets worked over and treated really badly in prison.

RE: Peeyou . . . what do I do?

Get a good electric skillet and cook that outside :-) Sorry, couldn't resist. That is the reason we cook almost everything outside, especially greasey stuff.
We do use the oven alot.
I think airing it out, even if it is cold outside will help the most.

RE: Email client for windows 7

I used outlook express for years and was happy with it but I just built a new computer with win 7 and it uses windows live for email. The problem with that is there seems to be a delay in picking up other email accounts such as gmail. I need something that will go get my email when it arrives not on some scheduled time. Anybody using an email client on 7 that will get your mail when you tell it to. Other than that, I'm very happy with win 7, so far.
Sam
What I do is that I use NO email client at all with gmail. I just leave a tab open in my browser for the gmail site and am notified immediately when new gmail arrives.
Same with us. gMail has everything we need..... email, contacts, calendar, im chatting, and more. We love google apps and find no reason to use "fat" apps like Outlook or OL express. Everything stays on their servers.
Just my $.02

RE: Unusual (to me) Visitor

On our first night up in the BWCA in northern MN, a coon came and ate ALL of our minnows out of the bait bucket. Damn coon cost us about $100. Plus the effort of portaging all those minnows. We did pretty well with Rapalas but we missed our bait.
The next years we tied them closed with wire. Lesson learned.

RE: My camper is disappearing

We live on the south side of Denver. We have had 20 inches as of this morning , and another 3 to 6 inches is predicted.

RE: How to pick up a motor home

Fly. 2, 7-hour days.... no big deal. Buy some firewood at the campground, have a fire, cook some microwave meals. Or drive farther the first day, "park" somewhere for the night, and home the next day by lunch if you leave early enough. Very doable. If you fly commercial, get a round-trip so you don't have to make a bad purchase... Just my $.02. Good luck...

RE: Mystery music in MH

It most likely is a horn.... and maybe your wife is messing with your head. Maybe she is secretly an A&M fan....
My bet is that the previous owner had a horn installed and SOMETHING you (or your RV) are doing is turning it on... Keep in mind that the horn could be somewhere other than the engine compartment.
Good luck and keep us posted...

RE: LOW AMP HEATERS

Maybe you should consider a more efficient use of your propane. Many of us use Mr. Heaters and the like. I personally use the Mr. Heater Big Buddy. It has a port for a low pressure quick connect (so you can tap into your existing propane line) and it has a fan that you can get an AC adaptor for (or the fan can run on 4 D batteries).
I know you asked about electric heaters, but I thought I would throw that out.
Also, you may want to look into the oil-filled electric heaters.
Thank you for your service to the Navy!

We love our Weber Go-Anywhere gas grill. Performs great with small bottle or on a 5 or 20 lb. tank with quik connect hose.

RE: Propane vs electric heat

If your RV relies on the on-board furnace to heat the water line area and water tanks to keep them from freezing, you will need to run it. Supplement with an elec. heater or Mr. Heater Big buddy (the big one has low pressure outlet for safety) Good luck!

RE: buddy heater

I plumbed our Big Buddy in to the low pressure propane line that was left after I removed our 30+ year old refridge.... The Big Buddy has a quik connect that makes it really easy. We use ours when parked in ski resort lots. Very efficient. The Big Buddy also has a built-in fan that runs on battery. Helps dispurse the heat around our 24 foot moho. Heats it fine on low or med. unless it's really cold (-15 or below) or hi winds. Then we need it on hi. We love ours. It will pay for itself this winter in our savings on propane usage compared to teh furnace. That thing eats propane!

RE: 12 volt lights

I would start by looking for a loose connection in the DC power distribution panel. Pay special attention to the grounds. The additional load of pump could have burnt through some corrosion. Many times, rigs have a wire nut connecting the grounds together in back of the power center check for this and make sure it is tight. You could take it apart and clean the conductors. If you do so, apply some electrical grease to the bare wires.
Thanks, I'll do that....
