RE: Sewer Flush ??

X2 ^^^^ Including the short clear tube. I often add 5 to 10 gallons of water to the black tank for the ride home. Never fails to be some paper and the water is colored when I dump it in the clean-out at home. I think that proves the rinser doesn't wash the tank walls very well. I think that the main function of these sprayer/flushers is to move the stuff down to the exit point and out of the tank to avoid the pyramid build up. not to make the sides of the tank squeaky clean. there will always be some residue on the sides of the tank and the best solution for that is like you do, put 10 gallons of water in it with some dish detergent perhaps a water softener and slosh it around on the trip home. bumpy I have also dropped a 20lb bag of ice down the toilet, take a short drive and that seems to help get the chunks loose..... that works but only have a small amount of water in the tank when you do that so it slides around and bangs against "stuff". if your tank is fairly full, all the ice will do is bob around in the water. bumpy Agree!!!!

RE: Whats Your Real Weights? Truck and Trailer. The Real Deal

Not sure I have posted my weights on here yet of my new truck and trailer. I now have a 2007 F550 and a 2012 Raptor 4014 LEV 5th wheel toy hauler. I took the set up to the scales to get a "dry" weight. The truck was low on fuel and empty, the trailer was relitively empty as in, No toys, no gear, no food, no water, no fuel, no cloths. The only thing in the trailer was linen, dishes and whatever else the wife keeps in those cabinets and drawers. Here are the numbers I got without me in the truck. Axle 1 Steer: 5240 lbs Axle 2 Drive: 7820 lbs Axle 3 Trailer: 12680 lbs (4227 lbs per axle) Total weight : 25740 lbs

RE: Whats Your Real Weights? Truck and Trailer. The Real Deal

So this is what I now understand. The front axle is 3152, rear 3683. Max tawr is 7000. Max per each axle is 3950. The hitch weight is 1035, dry load is 7420, cargo max 3420. The total for truck and trailer I weighted was 14160. Hope this clarifies things. Just FYI Steer Axle, front wheels the ones that steer the truck Drive axle, back wheels the ones that make it move Trailer axles, weight on trailer axles, 1, 2, or 3. Hitch weight: Difference between the Drive axle weight when truck is weighed unhitched and hitched up to trailer. GCVWR: The whole banana... Yup what he said!!!

RE: Anyone owne a Keystone Raptor?

I think a call into Happijac is coming to see about adding holes for pining the lower bunk in place in the UP position. Not that i wanna put pins in there every time but I would rather not have my stuff damaged....

RE: Tow trailer's UVW or GVWR? What monster can even do this?

My 2011 GMC is rated to tow 21k with a max pin weight of 5500 lbs. you dont need a mdt. :h Gee whiz, folks are getting a little concerned about some actual weight here. Lots of folks towing similar weighing Mobile Suites with duallys, trouble free. I can safely pull this "monster" with my dually. A 2011 Ford crew cab 4 X 4 with 6.7L diesel, 3:73 axle ratio. Gross combined rating for me is 30,000 pounds. Gross vehicle rating is 13,000 pounds. Truck weight with me and hitch 8,300 pounds. 30,000 - 8,300 = 21,700 pounds max trailer weight. This one tops out at 19,000, so I am just fine, well below max. 13,000 - 8,300 = 4,700 pounds payload left to handle hitch weight. 19,000 X 20% = 3,800 pound hitch weight. Mind you, this is estimated, but it would also be about the max hitch weight one would find on this rig. So yes, I can handle this just fine. Those Travel Supreme's were really nice rigs, but as here, mighty heavy. Four pages of hand wringing and needing a medium duty truck????? Come on folks. Now a MDT surely would be a good choice for this rig, but, as I have shown, not a requirement. Oh, and NevadaNick, I am in complete agreement with you, just using my vehicle figures as an example in full support of your posting. Here are the specs on the 2013 models.. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s214/smittys62/Truck%20pics/F550/50F1DB9B-614E-45EF-A431-1C24F3AF8EC4-362-0000001B87B01BA3_zps82075ef2.jpg

RE: Tow trailer's UVW or GVWR? What monster can even do this?

Hello all! My wife and have fallen in love with a 40" 2001 Travel Supreme 5th wheel that we found a great deal on. Now we need a truck. I'm pretty sure a diesel is called for due to this monster's weight and the fact that we anticipate doing mountain hauling. But here's where I have some questions: The trailer's UVW is 14,400 lbs and the GVWR is 19,900 lbs; does this mean that I really ought to get a truck that can actually tow 19,900 lbs, or can I get away with one that can tow 14,400 + what we load it with? I've been having trouble finding something short of a big rig cab that's actually rated for towing 20,000 lbs of fifth wheel. We'd like to buy a used truck so as to avoid having to spend twice the price of the trailer on the tow vehicle which rules out any monster 2013s. Should we look for a different trailer instead? I picked up an F550 with 4.88s and Link Ultra Ride. Pulls my 42' Raptor great! http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s214/smittys62/Truck%20pics/F550/CA1FA300-6E85-4A25-A9A0-BF5F87F08A9F-5618-000002EC3877D24F_zps75008271.jpg http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s214/smittys62/Truck%20pics/F550/A25EBAB3-E483-413E-BBD5-1C8B9876636A-3358-0000024F998E8F54_zps06e601b6.jpg

RE: Anyone owne a Keystone Raptor?

Weren't the pins installed to prevent the bunks from coming down? Between your problems with the Vortex 295 and now the runaway bunks in the Raptor, I'd say you got a bad case of the gremlins. As far as I kmow there arent pin holes for the lower bunks on mine. There are only pin holes for holding the top bunk up and outa the way when you use the couch set up. Correct me if im wrong?? Ya with the constant problems with the Vortex and now this one im starting to think my problem is Mike Thompson....... They had just worked on my bunks a few weeks prior.....Hmmmmmm

RE: Anyone owne a Keystone Raptor?

I just picked up the Raptor from the dealer......... We had a major issue with the rear bunks. On our last trip I parked the trailer and opened up the garage and removed a few items, extra fuel cans and ice coolers. I closed up the trailer for a few days with all toys (RZR and dirt bikes) in it as I wasn’t able to get to the cleaning right away. A few days later I opened the rear ramp door to unload and clean. I had to take a double take as the rear bunks were down and the bottom one was obviously twisted up and broken. It appeared that the bunks were lowered down onto the toys and the front of the RZR and one of the dirt bikes were damaged. The bunks weren’t just sitting on the toys; they were smashing the toys as if the down button was being depressed. As I was attempting to remove the lower bunk and pried one of the corner pins off the thing continued in the downward movement… Long story longer, I got all the toys out and immediately took the Raptor to the dealer to get fixed. Of course we have a trip in 2 weeks and there is no way they will get it done in time…… Now I’m dealing with Keystone on the damaged personal property. Has anyone had a similar problem???

RE: KQ Ranch in Julian Ca

We took their "free" weekend in 2007 and they put you up in the overflow area and keep the nice spots for their time share buyers. Then they do the hard sell the next day. 90 minutes of "this price is only good now" and you can't go back to your trailer and think about it! We said no thanks and glad we did. The park is nice but I don't think you will really get your money worth IMHO. Did some research later on the Internet and found a great price for the park but still didn't buy. Always wondered why there were plenty of people wanting to get rid of their timeshares at this park!? Thx for the info on your experience. We are CRA members and saw that this is one of the parks we can go to for free. We may try it but just wanted to know how it was... We really only use the park on the river (Emerald Cove) and we love it!!

RE: Your Rig

Wow, you done the 6.0 justice. Nice work, beautiful dually and fiver! I was going to bullet-proof mine but wife said for that chunk of change go buy a new rig. 15 minutes later I was at the dealer I am suprised it took you that long. lol. I would have done the same thing.;) I hear ya!! I woulda loved a new 6.7 dually, maybe a 450 or a 550 but there was no way I could swing the new truck note for that... The F550 I got was just about done when I got it from the original owner. I have the reciepts and WOW! there was some cash put into it. As long as it continues to tow the Raptor 4014 loaded down, Ill keep her....

RE: Anyone owne a Keystone Raptor?

Been a whil;e since I have been on here. We have been out enjoying the new Raptor. I ended up having to upgrade my TV from a 2002 F350 SRW LB to a 2007 F550 DRW LB, this thing is heavy!! http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s214/smittys62/Truck%20pics/F550/A25EBAB3-E483-413E-BBD5-1C8B9876636A-3358-0000024F998E8F54_zps06e601b6.jpg width=700 http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s214/smittys62/Raptor%204014/89E44B49-C0A2-4A9E-A8A2-071474661D23-504-0000014B31DD17E5_zpse7eaaec1.jpg width=700 http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s214/smittys62/Raptor%204014/D3126839-327F-45C6-B666-21C43A3A0687-459-000000269F9DED8E.jpg width=700 You fit all those toys in the Raptor? Is that a RZR4 or the XP4? Yes it all fits!! Lemme tell ya, it is a gnarly game of Tetris getting it all in but it works. That is our XP4 Liquid Silver.

RE: Truck ride with big toy hauler

My F550 tows smooth mainly due to the AIRSAFE Hitch and the ULTRARIDE air suspension on the truck. I can also say that this F550 rides better emty than my 2002 F350 SRW LB i peviously had. The 4.88s also help make the heavy tow easier. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s214/smittys62/Raptor%204014/89E44B49-C0A2-4A9E-A8A2-071474661D23-504-0000014B31DD17E5_zpse7eaaec1.jpg width=640 http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s214/smittys62/Truck%20pics/F550/352861B8-4F85-44F2-B58B-7789D54F151F-3358-0000024F9FFD4742_zpsec0c7404.jpg http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s214/smittys62/Truck%20pics/F550/CA1FA300-6E85-4A25-A9A0-BF5F87F08A9F-5618-000002EC3877D24F_zps75008271.jpg width=640
