Sportscoach Review Wanted Please

We are going to look at some 2013 models of Sportscoach. I am referring to Class A diesel pushers. They are listed as luxury RVs and the pictures look very nice. I have never seen one yet in person so I would appreciate information from you that own one or have first hand information about them. Thanks for any assistance you can give.

RE: Traveling Through Fort Worth and others

As a retired police officer, I can tell you that there are so many crazy drivers going way over the speed limit they really don't need to focus on the good people.

RE: 2002 F350 Lariat with 7.3L Diesel

My 2001 has 205,000 miles. To this date I have had to replace the starter and have the a/c fixed. I am one happy camper so far.

RE: Trouble Free Motorhome Owner?

I have owned a 3 Winnies, all DP. 1999 bought used. Other than replacing a heater core it was trouble free. Nothing. Bought a 2006 Winnie Meridian and just sold it with no problems at all except replaced a fresh water pump (Shurflo). It was the best I have owned so far. Just purchased a 42QD Tour so, to early to tell. All were garaged which I believe makes a big difference. All had or have Cummins engines. Hope that helps.
Thanks, yes it does help. We want a Class A, but the horror stories keep interfering with our decision.

Trouble Free Motorhome Owner?

I hear and read about motorhome owners and the problems that occur, but I really want to hear from those of you that have had no problems. If you are a motorhome owner that bought a new or nearly new Class A diesel pusher and got to enjoy it for six months or longer without any major issues, please let us know. I'm not talking about a cabinet door hinge or drawer type minor issue, just the big problems that made you park or take it to the repair shop before you could go out in it. I hope you are out there somewhere. Thank you.

All he needs now is another slot to carry a Harley and he'll be set! He's got it all figured out.

RE: Painting interior vinyl

Might look at "Color Bond" paint, I have not used it yet but I am ordering some for a RV project I am about to do. It's supposed to be great stuff and they have many colors.

RE: WIND!!

I feel your pain, we're in Oklahoma and we have had 35-45mph winds for many days. I am really sick of it!

RE: Cast your vote for the WORST customer service

I have all of you beat! Sept. 2001 I called my local Ford dealer and asked to get the best price on a new white Ford F-250 diesel that I saw on the lot. Salesman said I'll call you right back. I called two more times that day. May, 2013 still no call. By the way, we went to the Indy car races in Ft. Worth that Sept. weekend and stopped by a Ford dealer that just happened to be by our hotel and bought a new truck. I'm still driving that jewel today.

RE: Travel in windy conditions

Pulling a 5th wheel in those winds is usually very little, if any problems at all. Travel trailers may have some sway to them depending on direction of the wind and your speed. But generally, 15-20 mph winds you will be just fine.

RE: Fresh Water Tank Won't Fill

Did this just start happening, or have you had the problem since new. If since new I'd be inclined to think that the tank is siphoning itself. If the vent line isn't routed above the high point of the tank and looped or "shepherd hooked", you'll experience siphoning.
This is a new problem, just got to a park where we have to fill tanks, there are no direct hookups. We were here last fall with no problems then.

Fresh Water Tank Won't Fill

My 54 gallon water tank won't fill up. When it get to about 1/3 level, the water spills back out the inlet. Any ideas why this would happen? The lights on the monitor are correct, we run out of water real quickly, thanks for any help you can offer.

RE: Another Rant - can't help it!!

I feel your pain, some people really really suck and can ruin a whole weekend. Sometimes I have to sit back and remind myself that most people in the park are very nice and respectful and not like the jerks that were next to you. We are currently in a place with our share of jerks and I really want to leave. But, we are here to help family with medical matters and this is the best place in the area...we're stuck for a few weeks.

RE: Quality of the new Fleetwood

If you are looking at buying brand new, expect a laundry list of issues to be dealt with, not matter what manufacturer you choose. Be sure you have easy access to your dealer, or a repair facility that will handle warranty work for you.
We are considering buying a DP motorhome, but I have read and heard statements like this many times. I just can't accept that a very expensive piece of machinery will have a "laundry list" of issues. Somebody needs to be in charge of quality control and if he/she can't do it, then be replaced by someone who can. Just my opinion.
It's too bad your opinion doesn't change the facts. That's just my opinion.
Yes, you are correct, it does not change the fact that the guy at the factory who installed the door that does not close properly, and the guy that wired the electronic item that does not work, etc, got away with it and nobody checked it. The happy new customer with their shiny new RV has to postpone the exciting trip they planned to get the stuff on their brand new motorhome fixed. We are talking about new motorhomes, not older ones that have been bouncing down the highway for a few years.

RE: Leaving grey tanks open?

Since I often have problems with all my valves being so hard to open and close, I leave them all open and use the twist on valve at the end of the sewer line. Been doing this for a few months and have yet to have any odor issues. Sure makes it easier to dump the tanks also.

RE: "Duck Coat" roof coating

The web site states you can put it over EPDM rubber roofs, thanks for the information. I have a roof issue now and I may try the stuff.

RE: Typical day/week

We have seen twice where they advertise 20 hours (example) per week per couple for the site, but what they mean is 20 hours each. That's 40 hours in my book. But yet they will argue that one of you doesn't have to do much but you are basically on call. That's still 40 hours, so clarify the hours before you agree to the terms.

RE: Carrying firearms in RV

Don't give the police and reason to search your vehicle for weapons. If you have one and use it legally for self defense, then you are more than likely okay. I carry mine everywhere we go.
