The rain finally let up a little today and I was able to get 8 more rows up!!

Sure is tough working outside now. You want to let it warm up a little, so you can't run right outside first thing, you'll freeze! Then it finally gets the chill off, you head out and get busy, and before you know it, it starts getting dark on ya... :B

RE: Fixing water damage on the old Dodge (pics)

They are just 4x4s. I'm planning on adding 4 more in-between them once the roof is done. Yeah, it's 6/12. The trusses were 9/12 but I didn't want to be walking around on that so I redid them. They came from the other side of the mountains where there is a lot more snow to think about. The wall size is 12x28 but the roof is right at 30 long and around 16 wide. I figure the over hang will be my friend in the wetter weather. ;)

I hope you can fix it with less trouble than I'm having. The fiberglass around the front may have spared you a lot of work in the overhead area at least. :)

I came home early today and hit the roof again. I got 5 more rows up. Looks like rain tomorrow so I picked up a big tarp and covered the remainder so I can get the plywood to stay somewhat dry. I'll get another pic tomorrow, it was too dark tonight to snap one.

These are GAF Grand Canyon series, but circa '04. It doesn't look like they are made anymore checking out their website. They have something called Timberline that looks pretty close now. I hear Home Depo is carrying this brand now, but haven't seen what styles yet. They look pretty much like old shakes. WAY too fancy for this little shed, but what're ya gonna do??? :)
Boy am I sore this morning after all that ladder climbing.... :(

RE: Fixing water damage on the old Dodge (pics)

I had to work Saturday which was alright being as we were dead all week. The rain did stop today so I dove into the roofing project. It took me a bit to figure out how to install these fancy shingles but I finally got going. Too bad with the missing hour today I ran out of light already. Looks like dry weather tomorrow, so I'll probably stay home and see if I can get the one side finished at least.

You are a smart man Bill! That sounds like a great plan. ;)
I did find a great deal on 6 squares of high end roofing for the shed last week. Only $200! Now I'm just waiting for a couple dry days in a row to get it up on there... You're right about having a lot of cleanup to do around the RV when it makes it's big move.

I agree, the roof itself is VERY strong, but you can rock it around some forward and back and without the cross bracing, left and right. I will be adding some additional braces after I get the roof finished. ;)

Yeah, I'm thinking at this point the posts are the weak link too. I'm planning on adding at least couple more with a beam across them for lifting "stuff" in the future. I also have a couple calls into roofing guys looking for a good deal on shingles. We'll see what they can come up with. Getting close to monsoon season around here, I need to get it sealed up.

Ok, long time-no updates!! The shed got a much needed kick in the pants today. I finally got going on the right side of the roof.

Looks like we have some nice weather to start off the week, so maybe I can get the last of the sheeting done and actually put the roofing on!!! The Dodge is getting itchy to try out it's new home. :B

RE: Fixing water damage on the old Dodge (pics)

Progress hit a brick wall the last few weeks as I had to get ready for our annual Labor Day trip. We leave in the morning. Once this is behind us, the top priority is getting that shed done and the RV moved in!!

RE: Jacks Stuck down

We have an 01 Spartan chassis at the shop with auto HWHs that stick down too. Last time the owner put them down he had to crack all the lines at the cylinders to get them back up. I wonder if they have a fuseable link in their wiring?

I'll leave them open for now. I just want the roof done so I can move the Dodge in there and figure out where I left off. :B

Ok, I wish I had pics of the RV, but I still have to get this pesky shed done first... I got the roof half done so far.

I've been pretty busy at work, but we slowed down a little this week. All this and our yearly Labor Day boat trip is looming closer and closer. Between fixing the boat, truck and camper I've got my work cut out for me. :(

I've just got too many irons in the fire to concentrate on it right now. As soon as I can finish my shed I'll be able to back it in and start throwing some walls up.
