RE: Golf cart fell off the ramps while loading

When wet, lay a couple of towels on the ramps. The golf cart will drive right up without spinning a tire. I have to do that to load when wet. I use two sets of ramps to cross load the cart behind the cab. It is a show every time I get to the campground as people line up to watch me unload. Here is a pic loaded up and on the way to Fort Wilderness.

RE: Reese Elite or Ford OEM Fifth Whl/Goose underbed rail users:

I'm afraid I need a video because I do not understand what you are trying to describe. I can say that I have never had an issue with the safety chains on a goose neck trailer with the Ford OEM kit coming loose. I have had a problem where the chain hooks were too big to pass through the tie down loop. To correct that I just use a shackle.

I have one of these made by Bully and it works great.

It is called the truck bed side step. Cost around $60.

RE: Visiting Lousiana March 9 - 17 Suggestions?

Red Jacket Firearms does not allow visitors. They do not have a store front so don't go to Baton Rouge expecting to see anything there. Alexandria is short on RV parks too, as in there are none. There is a us forest service campground west of Alexandria on Kincaid Lake, takes 30 minutes to get to Alexandria. There is a state park 45 minutes south of Alexandria off I49. I would recommend staying in Natchitoches and just taking a day trip to Alexandria.

RE: headin 6 hours away for used TC...Sugg???

I drove 400 miles to look at and buy the TC I have. Met the original owner at a remote campground, performed a complete inspection, and bought it. I had installed a set of Tie downs and left the tailgate at home. I did have to rewire the umbilical cord because the previous owner had the wires all crossed up as he had installed his own outlet on his truck. Took me fifteen minutes to figure out and correct his mistake. Then got on the road and drove home. All in one day. It was a long day. The odd thing was we met in Florida, I'm from Louisiana and the original owner was from Rogers, Arkansas. I found the TC while searching Craig's list.

RE: Disney

One thing that has not been mentioned so far is the last week of October is the busiest time of the year at Fort Wilderness. If you have not made reservations yet for that week, you may not get them. The campground will be packed that week. The Disney parks on the other hand should be mild.

RE: Extra or Auxiliary Fuel Tank

A simple solution. Get a short bed TC and use on a long bed truck. Plenty of room in the front for the tank.

12VDC panel issue

I have a 2008 model Bristol Bay. The 12VDC panel is located in a cabinet in the bathroom. Early this morning while getting some medication from the medicine cabinet I just had an urge to check the panel. Took the cover off and this is what I found:

The fuse:

I have to guess that the terminal screw was loose. Does anyone know of a source for a replacement fuse panel like this? It was manufactured by Todd Engineering in Elkhart, IN but I believe they just assembled the box, not the actual 9 gang fuse block. I understand that Todd Engineering may be out of business now.

RE: My TC was called a bad name

He was probably talking about an older model flipping while off the truck. Most likely a model that was not designed to be used off the truck.

RE: Coprdless Drill For Stab Jacks

One thing to watch out for using a cordless drill is that it may bend the shaft that the chuck attaches to. It just takes a small amount and then the drill is useless to drill holes with as the bit then wobbles around the amount that the shaft is bent. I would recommend one of the impact drivers instead of a drill for this task. They offer more torque and will not bend the shaft.

RE: Hitching Question (Updated)

If you think commercial drivers don't drop trailers.....keep on dreaming. It happens hundreds of times a day all over the country. There is no bed on the trucks to damage so there is no indicator that it ever happened.

RE: 5er Trailer to pull a golf cart

I have thought the same thing. two sets of ramps to drive it up on the rack. One to the tailgate, one from the bed to the rack. Would have to take the roof off the GC so as to not be over height.

RE: When double towing, have you ever been stopped by police?

Here is what I can find:
316.515 Maximum width, height, length.—
(3) LENGTH LIMITATION.—Except as otherwise provided in this
section, length limitations apply solely to a semitrailer or trailer, and not
to a truck tractor or to the overall length of a combination of vehicles. No
combination of commercial motor vehicles coupled together and operating on
the public roads may consist of more than one truck tractor and two trailing
units. Unless otherwise specifically provided for in this section, a combination of vehicles not qualifying as commercial motor vehicles may consist of no
more than two units coupled together; such nonqualifying combination of
vehicles may not exceed a total length of 65 feet, inclusive of the load carriedthereon, but exclusive of safety and energy conservation devices approved by
the department for use on vehicles using public roads.
Notice the Bold text. I take that to state only one tow vehicle and one trailer. Unless there has been an provided for in another sub section.

Quick question for those that have a sun pass and tow a trailer. Do you register the trailer plate number as another vehicle?
