RE: Bank Rant

What I did for my two daughters was get them a credit card that also gave cash back. Not only did they build up good credit they got paid for it. They charged everything and only kept a small amount of cash on them. That was when they were 16. They both are out of college, bought their own houses and getting married this year. The other day my youngest daughter said Thank you to me. She said I taught her how important good credit was and that she has what she has because of it.

RE: Moles in the lawn!

Use a good grub killer on your lawn. Take away their food source and they'll move on. Getting rid of the grubs will also help stop skunks and wild turkeys from digging up your lawn if that's also a problem.Kill the grubs no more moles. We did use a grub killer! Perhaps we needed to do more grub control though. A neighbor suggested we use Juicy Fruit gum. Anyone ever hear of that? That's what I was always told but it has to be Juicy Fruit

RE: Big Easy Time Again!

We put the cover on just to brown. We also reduce the propane to make it cook slower. Also we use meat thermometer

RE: Passport Replacement Costs-Yeouch!

I don't know why it cost that much for renewal when a couple of years back it was only 130.00 to get them in the first place. We got the passports not the cards.

RE: Favorite summer recipes

The strawberry cheese cake salad posted here a few months ago has been a big hit for us. My DW's favorite summer recipe is corn on the cob that is roasted on the grill, cut and combined with arugula and a lime/cilantro dressing as a salad. I posted the Recipe and it's a favorite of ours too.

RE: Advice for First Time Cruisers

My only suggestion is to book shore excursions through the cruise line. They can not leave port without you that way. Might cost you a bit more but some passengers on our last cruise had to fly to the next port in order to continue the cruise.

RE: Scam Call Alert! PSA

I get the one that they are calling about my credit card. I ask them which one and there is silence. I ask again which one. Never can answer me and then I say a few choice words that makes me feel better. A new one going around is EMT calls and says a family memeber has been in an acident. This is a cruel one but Remember an EMT will never call.

RE: Pets in a Resturant

I would rather have a dog in a restaurant instead of some of the filthy dirty smelly nose blowing people. Also those kids that don't behave. I have been to many restaurants where pets are allowed and never had any problem with them.

STRAWBERRY BANANA CHEESECAKE SALAD Stir together: 1 bag of miniature marshmallows 16 oz of vanilla yogurt 1 regular size tub of cool whip 1 (3 1/2 ounce) box/pkg of no bake cheese cake filling (just add in and mix with rest of ingredients…do not actually make the mix) Stir in 1-2 containers of sliced up strawberries 3-4 sliced up bananas Other fruits can be substituted or added as desired. Best served chilled and same day due to banana discoloration Just add Peaches instead.
